Oh I've been working on this book for years lol I've finished the rough draft and we are moving forward. Literally going to be the most credible, most factual info about graffiti. I'm pretty hyped for it

@@rarecringe2446 you call it whatever artform it is. If I draw a portrait on a wall I call it a portrait. Artform are dictated and classified based on the fundimentals, simple as that.

I’ve been watching these videos, I agree with so much of it, your explanations are super dope and easy to understand, the one thing I highly disagree with is your take on graffiti characters. I do agree adding a spray can to a cartoon characters hand does not make it a “graffiti character” but there are some famous styles to make a character “graffiti Style”. Body shapes, clothes, facial structure etc. Cute, kopak, Cheo Pakatoo are all just examples of graffiti artists with characters they’ve designed.

You should check out the app Graffiti builder. I think its nice to use for figuring out what colors look nice together and using it as a reference but anyway other actual graffiti artist contributed to making it

For my tag i just wrote regular letters until i found ways to write them that are moderately stylized and flow right out of the the can/marker to make my tag easy and fast flowing while still being decently stylized, memorable and legible.

Depends on the focal point and the amount of either fundimentals used. So with this it will EITHER be graffiti with a face or character on it or a character with letters on it. It's like a tattoo. If I get graffiti on my arm the graffiti doesn't make me a graffiti human. It's secondary to me so I'm just a human with graffiti on it, same thing here.

So, i´ve been doing graffiti for a long time, and I don´t have a really crazy looking style yet, although I think I have good basics I get really confused sometimes when you talk about the basics. When I can say that I have dominated the basics?

ok, thats a while. if you have good basics then you have the most important thing. a good style doesn´t have to look crazy to be good. i would say that you have mastered the basics when you can draw different variations of your name which still respect the fundamentals of the letterstructure and the flow

Think of it in terms of a different art. If all I do is copy comic book drawings, I'll never learn to draw my own. If o want to learn to draw my own then I'll need to study anatomy. The basics are how you get better.
