So an artist had to go to someone who could fund their music. That’s when they ran into the contract “take it or leave it” issues. The drug lords like Master P or the former football players like Suge knight had enough money to put up to hire their own producers and these dudes had people come in and actually play instruments and not do everything digitally. Even then you still had to get distribution which was way different before the social media, streaming era. So idk who the hell you’re calling slow 😂 you had one of the most uneducated takes of all time. What you’re saying is like saying why don’t writers , directors and actors of movies own the movies they write and perform in. I’m using this example because maybe it’s a little easier to understand. Producers fund a production and they gave the capital to buy expensive equipment to make movies. Now with digital tools and the evolution of ai art 10 years from more, you don’t need to rent an ARRI Alexa camera for over a thousand dollars a day and build full sets, and feed and house actors. In the future with ai art the writer and director can make everything from a computer and publish digitally instead of physical discs and don’t have to sign contracts
