Hi Guys, You and Karen may find this of some relevance. If I remember right, the famous reply from the Browns executive to the carping ticket holder was on team letterhead and was respectful (mostly) and not the abbreviated version here: "In the mid-1970s, a lawyer from Akron, Ohio, wrote the Cleveland Browns football team with a complaint about paper airplanes being tossed around the Stadium. The Browns replied with a letter saying "I feel that you should be aware that some asshole is signing your name to stupid letters"

Apparently the lawyer wasn't upset as he thought it was a great response and said he's used the same response on a couple of occasions since then 😁 As you say it would never happen now, there would probably be a hurt feelings lawsuit.

I remember being in an online argument with a TWO Karen tag team, and there was a fair sized audience. So what I did was interpret each one's argument unfavourably to the other. After some back and forth, the dumber of the two exasperatedly said "We're talking about YOU!!!". I replied, "But what each of you says applies better to the other. They are not functional.. in fact they have at least one undiagnosed mental illness... some are actually a threat. Thank you for sticking with her. I have caught myself being that angry with someone who did not deserve it in any way. Sometimes combined frustration, especially with all the fake news and generated hate in the media, plus nonsense like masks to go anywhere and "get vaccinated or you cannot do anything normal. . .ever again!" threat. She needed SOMEONE to hear her frustration. That was probably better for her than a therapist. Even though she said you were the one who needed one lol. I used to go to group therapy at the VA. They do not permit that now as if the threat of MAYBE getting the flu in a room where everyone is several feet apart and wearing masks is a bigger threat than suicide among VETERANS WITH PTSD. Unfortunately a lot of the therapists these days are the same age as my CHILDREN and give examples of dealing with others as them. . .dealing with toddlers? Sorry, not helpful. Been there done that, I am more likely to give that person advice than get anything out of the exchange. SO I live alone and. . . .deal with it alone. Can't even go out and hang out at the VA canteen anymore and just chew the fat with other veterans anymore. Its closed. This years flu is designated a pandemic. Pansys run the CDC now.

Just because the VA shut you out does not mean you can't meet. Reach out to those you remember and "get the band back together" in a new location, for the same purpose. I spoke to armed forces recruiters when I graduated high school, and health care was sold as a big benefit, as it would be. But the VA has devolved into such shortcoming, it's criminal to make such promises to recruiting prospects who sign up (in part based on promises) and as part of the deal, might die in service to our country.

I always find it self-serving when people “threaten” to cancel their subscription. The best reply I ever heard for this is “this is not an airport… you don’t have to announce your departure”.

The best thing to do is to steer the conversation to basic right and wrong. It is very easy to get most people to agree to fundamental terms of right and wrong, just and unjust. For example, "Do you believe it is wrong to steal from another person?" If the person you're corresponding with cannot agree it is wrong to take advantage of others for their own gain, they're not worth your time anyway.
