Farrell lost how many times when we should have won, 2015 ikcked out of our own rwc, 2019 embarrassed over RWC final, lost how many to Scotland and taken off while playing Scotland for Ford to draw us the game. He picks farrell. ok then.

Wilco is by far the best flyhalf england have ever had..his tackle was awesome, his drop goals were just disheartening, he could kick goals from anywhere in the opposition half and he had great distribution skills..people remember his injuries and not his run up to 2003....how can you put miss kick, dodgy tackle height of farrel over that?

Definitely no bias to the former Leicester player but George Ford is better than Farrel. Tackling isn’t an issue, can manage a game and can win an 11 minute period with 13 players while playing both Half Backs and scoring an amazing drop goal, against bitter rivals Saints away

True :-) also south africa used to try to counter wilco personally and believed he was worth 30 points a game so tried to score more when they played against him personally...they didn't fear england but they did fear wilco lol...I watched a pre match build up inside the camp of South africa before an England game and 90% of what they talked about was wilco...this demonstrated the effect he had on opposition and why he was so great :-)

Admire and respect Mr Dallaglio for his rugby accomplishments. However, in my humble opinion, there can be no honest talk of an all time England 15 without Mr Wilkinson in it. Mr Dallaglio is perfectly entitled to his opinion, but the arguments he advances in support of his view regarding Mr Wilkinson’s omission from his list are - at best - specious. Mr Wilkinson occupies a rarefied place in the history of rugby’s finest no 10s. ⭐️ Mr Farrell is also a class act ⭐️

Haha Ben Cohen mugged me off, whilst I (as a little 8years old Scotland fan in 2004) asked for an autograph at Murrayfield at the England team bus, after they trashed us. I was a huge fan of his before that and slightly less after. I remember Matt Dawson was sound as though. Stopped, plenty of chat, a signature and a photo op as well. Funny hearing now LD and co called Cohen 'rudeboy'. It wasn't just me!

I'm starting to think Farrell has untold secrets about the WRU and ex England players. A world XI over the man who was the top points scorer at WC 2003 after being rested for 2 of the easy games and was easily the player of the tournament. He's captain of the current side despite being awful for 2 years. He's a fly half that always gets bumped to centre because other fly halves are better.

As a Scotland fan I find it bizzare not to pick Wilkinson. I don't follow all the gossip so maybe he wasn't liked - I don't know. Obviously known for his kicking ability but if you've watched him play he leaves everything on the pitch, big tackles - and not just for his size. Was an entertaining player to watch - probably one of the few players even back in 2003 that could walk in to any other team at the time. But to then pick Farrell... That's a slap in the face.

What is this media obsession with Maro Itoje? Supposed to be captain of the 2021 Lions but exactly why noone could explain adequately. Then for ages Rugby media was talking up discovering "our next LeBron" (ie whoever or whatever Michael Yormark was pushing for at the time) and then Jim complained to the Youngs brothers on here "next LeBron, yeah, but it hasnt happened has it? It was supposed to be Maro but it didnt happen.." and NOW Dallaglio is talking about "how good he's going to be when he's eventually made England Captain.." Eh? This is the same Itoje who spent the 2nd half vs Scotland walking around the pitch? To go with his previous 'walking' performances in the England jersey. But who cares about how he actually plays right? He's not just undroppable according to media decree, he's going to be captain next. How about: justifying his place in the team first?

Good shout Jim on nowell on the wing but I’d put Anthony Watson ahead of Simpson-Daniels

Sinbad was almost on another planet at his best. Pace, step, awareness, power for a smallish bloke. Top class. I do agree Watson would be in and around a best 23 squad though.

As an Aussie , you not picking Wilkinson is a disgrace to your entire family, country and long lost ancestors.

The trouble with picking these greatest XVs is that people generally only pick from their era and in this case the professional era when many of the greatest players in history played in the amateur era . The world cup winning team was tremendous and was full of very good players and some that were special however there have been greater England players many who played in mediocre teams . I could name a number of great players from the past who I believe we're superior but it's a bit like talking to young people about today's footballers they don't know how good many players from yesteryear were so they only know what they know.

They didn’t even mention Johnny May which I think is a bit harsh Second most tries for England behind Rory Underwood.

No Johnny, nuts. David Duckham, even if he wasn't from the Pro era was special, give him the opportunity to be a pro and wow what a player you'd have.

Would have dropped Itoje a long way back. Not a great lock at all. Also, the borderline professional / amateur era produced most of England’s best players.

I’m sorry but I can’t comprehend why everyone loves Owen Farrell so much. As far as I can remember I cannot recall him ever opening up a mobile 3/4 line in attack. The centres have never received a good opening pass for years.

And Itoje? Worth 6 points a game to the oppo, maybe 9 if they've got a top goalkicker.

How can Jim pick Lewis Moody in front of Richard Hill😂 I mean picking Hill is standard. As a Welshman who had to endure that England team for a decade or so……Johnson, Dallaglio, Hill etc Love how Lawrence hasn’t picked Wilkinson 😂 brilliant

Now that Lee Childs has atone for his super midget gaffe oh, I think it's time to start reading the books again the last movie Don't Look Back they tossed 2/3 of the actual story and then made some other shit up. I was super pissed as that was a really good story line

I was on board until I saw daly in the bench! One of the worst performing players in recent years for England, in the pubs all I remember was people screaming about how he’s being picked game after game and being terrible. Like the rest of the team though haha 😂👍

@whybother now You could say that about a lot of these selections. Leonard was top class, could play both sides of the front row and be equally effective and that isn't easy.
