Review of the 2022 Polygon Siskiu T7 full suspension trail bike. It's well-spec'd, well-built, and affordable!
Using this affiliate link helps the channel with a small kickback. Thanks!

With no glaring downsides, the new Siskiu T7 sets the bar for optimizing performance and an affordable pricepoint. They've prioritized thoughtful design and high-quality components over frivolous stuff exotic materials or a fancy boutique brand name. An incredible value for a solid full suspension MTB that's capable of tackling all but the gnarliest trails.

Great review! I’m a hardtail guy myself. I live in East Texas and we don’t have rocks in my area. Lots of roots and sandy loam. I have a 22’ Extrada 7 in XL. I have had it since February and it’s a solid bike! I put it through 20 miles this weekend in Austin, Tx and did 25 miles at Slaughter Pen last weekend in Bentonville. I have been looking at the T8 as a bike to take with me when I travel to the rocky areas. It’s nice to see an honest review especially in English!

I've had mine for over a year. I have replaced everything except the seat post, front brake, derailleur and shifter. I didn't break anything, I am a heavier rider and wanted more robust parts. I ride in the Adirondacks on very rough trails full of roots rocks and drops. I've never had an issue. The bike sits around 35lbs but I don't care about that much. Seems bulletproof so far

I have the T8 and love it. The one negative is the climbing, but going to tubeless and moving to a 2.3x29 tire made it noticeably more zippy uphill. Once I upgrade the rims I’m sure it will keep improving. Glad to see this brand on your channel again!

Thinking of selling this bike for this very reason, poor climbing. I struggle to keep up with my MTB group since changing from the Vitus Mythique VR. Seriously ? changing the 2.6" tyres to smaller ones will make noticeable difference to climbing and it is not the geometry of the bike ?

Hey saice, your video is one of the reasons i bought my T7 last year. After 1 season of riding i am starting to upgrade small items (seat, handlebars, grips, tubeless). I found a Bomber Z1 for a good deal BUT its only 51mm offset, compared to the stock Recon = 42mm offset. Slow speed turns are common at the trails near me and this seems to be sluggish while navigating the turn. Now to my question...why should i or should i not upgrade to the 51mm offset Bomber Z1?

Hello. I have a decision to make, perhaps you could assist: I need to choose one of these 2 options as my next MTB: Option 1: used canyon lux (2016 model carbon fiber, sram xx1, 11x1) condition "ok". Option 2: New Polygon T7. Both options are at the same price. The reason that I'm considering the polygon is that I am worried that the 6 year old xx1 might get too old, and to fix it would cost a fortune. Can anyone please give me some tips what should I do? I ride mostly XC. I will appreciate your input very much!

I wouldn't buy a bike with an upgrade of over 20% of it's price in mind. It means you bought the wrong bike - and paid for it. I bought a T8 and am happy with it. I've had it for about 8 months. When I feel that I am underbiked I'll buy a new bike and sell the T8. If you upgrade to say new forks they might cost you $1000 and you can sell the old ones for $200. But on a new bike they might only add a few hundred dollars to the bike price. Same with drive train, wheels and brakes.

Just so you know, I got this bike about 1.5 years ago and you need to put a longer shift cable and housing because of pedal kickback. You can’t feel it, but the cable does ride back up into the frame no matter what you do. This in return does wreck the cable and housing right at the deraileur or hower you spell it.

You say this isn’t an entry level mountain bike, shouldn’t even be considered a 1st or 2nd bike. Is that strictly because of the cost? Or would it be hard for a beginner to learn on?
@TheBikeSauce

It's a great bike, but for absolute beginners, the full suspension, 4 pot brake caliper, 1x12 drivetrain are overkill in my opinion. A decent beginner hardtail can be had for less than half the cost, leaving space to focus on technique rather than tech.

The biggest problem on this bike is that SOME of the tubes are only T4 level alloying which changes the fatigue rating from an A with standard T6 heat treated aluminum to a B rating for fatigue resistance. The number of top tube failures on these is kind of scary and I would give this bike a pass till T6 is used for all tubes.
@gardenstateflatlandb

Everything I've read says it's made of 6061 tubing. Have not been able to find any articles on the top tubes breaking. Can you point me towards this information? And point me towards where it's said 4series alloy is used. Are you maybe speaking of a different frame than the T series?

@@ThunderousProduction It's always been my understanding that aluminum frames are heat treated post welding, being either T4 or T6 outcome depending on the process used. Wouldn't that make all tubes either T6 or T4 then? Regardless even if it was fully T4, it should still be quite strong...at least for the casual rider. I'm not an expert so take anything I say with a grain of salt. Some pretty bonkers riders have beaten on these frames and been impressed. A noob to MTB such as myself, and probably the majority of riders looking in this price range, would likely be more than satisfied.
@ThunderousProduction
@ThunderousProduction Жыл бұрын
@@gardenstateflatlandb My problems is that it is a mix of T4/T6 and for fatigue failures which online are becoming common on the polygon near top tube seat tube junction this is a big red flag issue. Its all satisfying till you wake up in the hospital.
