I think he is getting more credit then he did when played Bond much like Timothy Dalton who was ahead of his time as Bond as fans were not ready for a serious Bond actor and films after Roger Moore’s light hearted take on the role for 7 films over the course of 12 years. Dalton and Lazenby I feel are the two most underrated Bond actors and seemed to be the least appreciated for some time but sure it was hard as they took over from Sean Connery and Roger Moore. I am a big fan of James Bond movies and have grown to like On Her On Majesty’s Secret Service and I am only 33 and been a fan since I was 9 years old when Goldeneye came out in 1995.

It's always been one of my favourites, and has stood the test of time for me critically. I agree with Scott about Dalton and Lazenby, very underrated, and now years later you can appreciate they were very good. I'm always excited for any Bond movie to come out, and I remember thinking Brosnan was such a good choice at the time, but now looking back, I think his movies are the worst. Casino Royale was the best Bond movie in a long time, maybe since OHMSS.

Lazenby is just such a great guy, and it's great that you got to see him up close like this and listen to his stories! It's funny, he really seems like he's always so happy to talk about those stories of getting laid, living the wild life, lying his way into getting the part, I've heared him tell the same story over and over in so many videos, but it's just so great to listen to. He seems really accesable and normal, it's inspiring. I remember his great quote from Becoming Bond: "You can defy what is expected of you, and write your own story". Great guy. Fantastic video once again David!

@@p0ppyfarr95I grew up watching all the bond films from the classics of Connery to today. I prefer the classic films now. I wouldn’t change the history for the world because we got to see how many different actors would portray James Bond and there’s too much nostalgia involved. Me personally I loved the Moore films. Yes they are a bit campy but Moore could be bond, even a cold bond if he had to.

Diana Rigg said that Lazenvy was VERY difficult on the set, although Sean Connery kind of disputed that statement and claimed he'd never found Lazenby difficult (though he only knew Lazenby socially and never worked with him). Sean and George first met when they both found themselves in the same resturant together. Also Sean Connery claimed that George Lazenby was never arrogant.

The latest I've heard is a complete run down of what really happened. Just by accident I typed GL agent OHMSS etc. George wanted to accept Cubby's 20 year contract and other offersbuthis agent kept refusing. Lazenby gave his insane agent right of contract refusal. That's the base reason and not because George was convinced Bond was pass expiration date -- that was 911 oksecondary. IMO he should've retained attorney to break the contract. I'd like to see an interview with the agent who really screwed his client.

DBS5238R will always be my favorite Bond car as much as George is my favorite Bond. He was such a kind gentleman and my wife and I took him a gift for his little boy who was born the same year our first son was born. I was on cloud 9 being a new father as was he having a new baby boy at home! He and his agent invited me to spend the rest of the day with them. What a memory! :)

George met Bruce Lee the week he died. George said he was on his last legs and took the flight to Hong Kong with a toothbrush. They hit it off. He was waiting at a bus stop and Bruce pulled up and gave him a ride and $10,000 to buy clothes and hotel. I don't know if HK$ or US$. Bruce wanted him in his films. Also, I finally confirmed that Bruce was to appear in TMWTGG.

I am delighted that he got to share more to non-Bond fans in the Becoming Bond doc. I sincerely believe that he would've made a great Bond had he done more. Hs brief role in 'Saint Jack' (1979) showed that he could carry both the suaveness and tough guy persona well into the 1980s. But thank you for giving us a timeless Bond movie.

In a way, the guy was a fraud, he knew it, he didn't care and took advantage of it and lived his life like he said . He was not the best actor but he was somehow a spy to have done everything he's done to get the part .

Sean, for me, was always the man. I walked in his footsteps - I had to look and dress like Sean Connery - I went to his barber's and tailors. I had no fear when I went up for the role - he was the guy who inspired me to never hesitate.
