The last weekly reading vlog of the OWLs magicalreadathon 2020! I had so much fun! These last two and a half weeks I had to struggly and try to finish the last three books on my tbr that I had been puting off. Did I finish them in time?

If you haven't already, you should read Wilde's play _The Importance of Being Earnest,_ which, among many other gems, contains the line, “To lose one parent, Mr. Worthing, may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness.”

14:22 is such an epic shot! I completely agree with the "reading moment" feeling you were talking about. I'm a pretty strict outdoor reader so in the winter I barely read anything but I'll crank out a ton of books come spring-fall. It's impossible for me just to wake up and grab a book, I need sunshine, coffee, background music, etc. Watching Booktube can help set the reading mood pretty well in a pinch too! (Also, as a sub of both you and Daniel I am beyond excited to hear there's a collab coming! Both your videos were so well done, I can't wait to hear you together.)

For anyone who's not aware, Audible made available hundreds of audiobooks for free because of the current global situation, and there are actually amazing books in there, such as The Picture of Dorian Gray (which is my favorite book ever! I'm so glad you loved it 🥰)

I love your vlogs! They're my favorite videos. C. S. Lewis did read a lot of fairy tales and mythology, so I wouldn't be surprised if parts of Narnia were inspired by the Snow Queen.

haha the tone shift at 6 days left😂 and ahh The Picture of Dorian Gray is my fav classic (I would actually also recommend Lady Windermere’s Fan, even though it’s a play I still thought it was quite a fun read bc of Wilde’s fun little witticisms) so I’m so glad you enjoyed it 😁😁

The level of procrastination you were running on the last few days of the OWLS was the same as me. I had to completely switch careers because i knew I couldn't finish 3 more books in 5 days so I then chose a short essay book and was using the audiobook to help finish Chamber of Secrets.

the panic was real during those last few days for me too. I wound up reading 310 pages of Clockwork Princess on the last day of April to finish it and it’s safe to say I didn’t read much at all for the next few days 😂

I was thinking that it must be difficult to read in a second language and have that part of your brain constantly translating. But then I remembered my first language isnt English and its not that big of a deal 😂

I speak 2 languages and never translate one to the other. The languages run parallel along side one another (as oppose to crisscross-y) .

I would recommend you reading the first 7 realms quartet it´s an amazing YA 4 books with great characters, plot, world building and themes.

This just motivated me to read The Pictures of Dorian Gray more. I hope I enjoy it as much as you did. Also, I wish I could finish A Conjuring of Light without wanting to strangle Delilah Bard or myself. I DNF'd that book/series last year because Lila just annoyed the living light out of me. And that never happens. I never give up on a book because of one annoying character. The saddest thing was I was actually enjoying the plot. 😔 Anyways maybe I'm gonna try to finish it this year... but I have doubts.

I love these vlogs. I gotta believe C.S. Lewis knew the old little mermaid story; those guys were so well read. The Little Mermaid story figured into AS Byatt's Possession, about 2 literary scholars who's studies cross paths as they try to uncover a hidden affair between their respective idols. The epistolary parts can be a lull, but it's a great book. Byatt is a vocal lover of fairy tales.

On the stream, u were trying to think of examples of a good build-up of love that's not instant. My example: Pride and Prejudice. Characters that dont immediately like each other; in fact, they are kind of annoyed by each other. Despite Mr. Darcy begin described the as a Greek God of a man, the female lead isnt swooned by him off rip.
