In Architects of the West Kingdom: Age of Artisans, journeymen have returned to the city as master craftsmen, equipped with knowledge of new crafts and tools. The Guildhall has never been so busy! While some apprentices spend time learning new skills, others adorn the city’s buildings with everything from golden tapestries, to stained glass windows. But don’t let the shimmer of lights and fancy wares deceive you. For not all that glitters is gold.
In addition to including components for an extra player, Age of Artisans adds the new Craft Cards, a dual-layered Guildhall Board, two new Player Boards and a variety of new Apprentices and Buildings.

Thanks for the review Luke! Architects was easily one of my favorites of 2018 and I’m super pumped to get my hands on Age of Artisans. I agree, this is the kind of expansion I’d add and teach new players from the jump. Great job!

Meanwhile 6 players is most of the reason I'm buying it. We mostly do 4-5 player games, but a 6 option is good to have. When I played Paladins and it had the reverse draft for version of appretences, I wondered why that wasn't in Architects, going to try that next time I play it. Artisans seem interesting as a one meeple gold play or like you mentioned, the town hall being particully strong.

Honestly news to me. Just got Architects with my Palladins KS and love it. Not sure I'll need this right off as it is all still so new and fun.

As far as I know pre-orders open November 19th . This will be a limited first printing, but we will also have it available as an add-on in the Kickstarter campaign for the follow up to Paladins in March next year.

Yea I sleeved my cards and also squeezed in the metal coins and extra Kickstarter character dashboards already so I think I’m screwed...

Never played Architects. It must be really good if you like it in spite of be the one of your most hated themes (pleasing your medieval king, etc.).

The theme could be rethemed to anything really. But yes mechanically the game is sound, but it's a dull theme.

Everdell is amazing my Wife loved it, there is already available the first expansion Everdell: Pearlbrook and there are another bigger two which looks amazing in the kick starter ( Everdell: Bellfaire and Everdell: Spirecrest) they will add a lot of new mechanics

Only thing you didn't mention...$35! Yowza that makes it much less appealing for what it does. Also, board on top of board is crap.

I don't mind it as I don't see another way around it. Also bear in mind this was a review of a prototype expansion copy. The details of retail price were not known to me at the time. I admit that cost is high though some of that is shipping so maybe a retail release will be cheaper.
