MEAT PIES For Pastry 2 Cups All Purpose Flour 1 Stick Salted Butter 1 (8oz) Block Cream Cheese 1 Egg 1/2 Tsp Cayenne For Stuffing 1 Onion 1 Stick Celery 1 Small Bell Pepper 1 Tbsp Olive Oil 1 lb Ground Beef 1/2 Tsp Salt 1/2 Tsp Onion Powder 1 Tsp Cajun or Creole Seasoning 1 (10oz) Can Cream of Mushroom Soup with Roasted Garlic Vegetable Oil for Frying Start out by getting a pot heated over medium heat. Chop the onion, bell pepper, and celery. Add olive oil to hot pot, then drop pound of beef. As soon as the beef is brown, drain the excess oil in a strainer. Leave ground beef in strainer, add another small amount of olive oil to the pot, drop the chopped vegetables in, and let sauté for 15 minutes. Now add the ground beef back to the pot. Add the Cream of Mushroom. Feel free to add a small amount of water to the can, so that you can get any excess soup. Add the salt, onion powder, and creole seasoning. Lower heat to simmer and cover. Simmer for 1 hour stirring every 15 minutes. At this time you can get started on the pastry. Mix all ingredients for pastry together in a bowl with your hands or mixer. Form into a ball, wrap tight with cling wrap, then let chill in the fridge for at least 30 minutes. Once your stuffing has been simmering for at least an hour, move the pot to the freezer, and let chill for 30 minutes. At this time you can get a frying pan with about an inch and a half of vegetable oil heated over med/high heat. After 30 minutes, remove your stuffing and pastry from your fridge and freezer. Dust a clean counter top with flour, and roll your pastry to about 1/8 inch thickness. Cut out circles that are roughly 6 inches or less in width. Place a desired spoonful of stuffing in the center of the cut out, fold over gently pressing out air, and seal edges by pressing down firmly with a fork. Feel free to test your oil by dropping a small piece of pastry in there. Once you have made all of your pies, you can begin frying. Fry on one side until you start to see golden color form on the edges, then flip. When pies have a good all around golden color, remove from oil and set aside on tray layered with paper towels. Let cool for five minutes then enjoy! 😊

I know a way to speed up the process but I like your recipe better. But if you want something Fast. Just use cheap store brand biscuits and brown some ground beef and add anything you want. I used onions and garlic and chopped apples and some flour and put a slice of cheese on and fold it the same way and bake on a cookie sheet and it comes out good. But your Cajun pies are more than likely way better. I think I'll try your recipe. The cream cheese part really got my attention. And the Cajun seasoning.

Nicole Thomas MEAT PIES For Pastry 2 Cups All Purpose Flour 1 Stick of Salted Butter 1 (8oz) Block of Cream Cheese 1 Egg 1/2 Teaspoon of Salt 1/2 Teaspoon of Cayenne For Stuffing 1 Onion 1 Stick of Celery 1 Small Bell Pepper 1 Tablespoon of Olive Oil 1 lb Ground Beef 1/2 Teaspoon of Salt 1/2 Teaspoon of Onion Powder 1 Teaspoon of Creole Seasoning 1 (10oz) Can of Cream of Mushroom Soup with Roasted Garlic Vegetable Oil for Frying Start out by getting a pot heated over medium heat.
