So Should you buy a Toyota Corolla Cross? A Toyota Master Diagnostic Technician reviews the Toyota Corolla Cross which is a Genuine Toyota and a true return to basics for Toyota.
In this video we take a look at the Toyota Corolla Cross. How is it to own and live with for a week. I did a heavy technical review on the Toyota Corolla Cross and in that video I told you that once I get a chance to drive one for a week I'll do a full review and here it is!
Find the full technical review video here.
• 2022 Toyota Corolla Cr...
The Toyota Corolla Cross is a breathe of Fresh Air. It is a return to basics. Something that Toyota does very very well is make sensible day to day cars that just keep going. And this one really delivers that very well.

I really wish there was a way to make it so you never had to press the stop stop start button, so basically shut it off for forever in that when the ingition is restarted , that function wont come back on. Pressing that button every time while easy enough is a pain in the rear. I wonder how these CVT's will hold up.

I must say. Every review said the Cross was sluggish, and although it is no speedster I frankly LOVE my Corolla Cross! I have been teaching my friend how to drive in his Mazda cx-30 which has amazing pickup as well as I've tried other more zippy cars like the Civic, and honestly I never thought I would.think this way, but the Ride in my Cross is so much nicer. I love the pick-up on other vehicles, but after driving a 4.5 hour road trip to NY, my back didn't hurt, I didn't feel exhausted from feeling the road all day. Honestly the car has forced me to Lower my speed closer to the speed limit, I feel like a safer driver, and it is a comfortable ride. Plus, the car may not be "zippy" but it is more than sufficient for highways. If you were on The 5 in LA, okay, I get the issue. But honestly my car did fine in Boston, Manchester NH, all major highways in New England and NY and it drove great!

@@thundergato84 I have one, and the acceleration is the worst thing about the car. It’s okay for the most part but if you want to gun it a bit to get on the freeway, good luck. Other than that I love my Corolla Cross. The only thing I would change is getting a hybrid version to really add some more punch to the engine and acceleration. The bigger RAV4 Hybrid my GF has does have more punchy acceleration. Hoping the same when the hybrid comes out

Thank you for sharing your thoughts and your experience with this new car. So many people (as you have stated) jump right in on what it does NOT have tech wise. You are correct that this is a simple get from point A to point B without having to stress out. I am now looking at helping our daughter get a new car and this one is number one on the list so far. I always enjoy your reviews because you do not try to impress us with your knowledge or have a need to fill your ego. I rather hear a review from you ADM since you actually work on the cars you speak about. Thanks again for your time and effort!

Thank you so much for doing a review of this model! Have been curious. So glad it’s back to basics. I prefer the older model RAV4 and Highlander. Don’t like the newer models AT ALL. I OPTED FOR 2018 Outback instead of RAV4. I’m looking at Corolla Cross to replace my Outback. Agree lack of zip is a drawback but I don’t cover much distance. The hybrid version would be PERFECT. I feel like this is a viable option thanks to this review!!!!!!!

The logo on the windshield is actually that of the Corolla Cross. It's the concept lines Toyota used before the CC was unveiled, and the lines help accentuate the fender creases along with the sleek roof accent found on the CC..

I just added the bumper protector and the door sill protectors. I also put on wheel locks but another zonk is that there is no eye glass holder strange does Toyota think we all have 20 20 vision. they have the room where they could have added the eye glass holder. Other then that it is a great vehicle very quiet ride. Like Toyota says you ask for it you got it Toyota

Thanks as always for this informative review. Could you please (please) do a video on the differences between the 2022 RAV4 Adventure and the (regular) 2022 RAV4 (non Adventure or X-Trail)? I've ordered and paid for the 2022 RAV4 Adventure. It will be delivered next month. I think it's more rugged but would appreciate the views of a Toyota professional. Please remember to take us through the differences, if any, in the undercarriage. Many thanks. Your videos are greatly appreciated.

This reminds me of the 2009 Pontiac Vibe, which was basically a Corolla. I liked the 2005-2008 Vibes for reliability, but the first 2003 looked the best. the 2009 vibe was kind of puffed out as is the Cross.

I really like the Corolla Cross. I really the exterior styling, was glad to see it didn't have the obnoxious grille that Toyota has seem to be stuck on for the last few years on the sedans. Driving one feels like a bigger Corolla. Very nice ride and quiet and solid feeling. It's a good around-town vehicle. It's definitely pokey slow on open roads and highways. I've never liked any version of the Corolla CVT and this is no exception. I can understand Toyota's logic behind using the Corolla drivetrain in this, but like you said, the 2.5/8 speed would have made this a lot more competitive and enjoyable in the small crossover market.

As mentioned on a previous video, I sent this link to a family member w/a Corolla & Highlander, now considering a new Cross, what Rav4s used to be. On another note (literally), I like your choice of theme music from the movie "The Town", but it sounds like the Cross itself is not a good choice for a getaway car.😉

We bought one, an FWD LE. I like it overall, but not a big fan of the headrests. I wish the seat bottom on the driver seat would move up & down because I like to sit higher up when driving. And from what I've seen, the muffler looks a bit restrictive, a big barbecue pit type muffler. I ponder the idea of replacing this one with a freer flowing muffler to maybe help it "get up and go" more, but then again, I'm not looking for any louder exhaust system noise & I'm not about to eff with a brand new car under warranty. But it sure is a hell of a lot better than that 2015 Chevy Traverse we got rid of.
