Big fan of japan here, pretty sure the reason why they included the "salary man in a business suit" guy in the Kawaii museum because when I went to Japan you will see the typical salary business men waiting on the trains and on their bags or briefcases they will have very cutesy bright colored keychains of adorable characters on it. They're not afraid to show off the love of cutesy things! It's very common place

Ratatouille is a French dish, considered "common" food - Remy makes this dish in the movie to appease a (supposedly) evil food critic and the dish manages to win them over.. very brief summary of the film.

22:49 Lolita fashion like this dress started in the 70's as a counterculture movement. Girls would dress in super cute, ornate outfits that didn't fit the mold of what a woman should look like to attract a husband. This grew into a huge fashion movement centered around the Harajuku district in Tokyo. Today, the area is packed with boutiques specializing in these kinds of outfits.

6:00 Fun fact: There used to be a lamp post between the phone booths in England but Hulk Hogan ripped it out and threw it at a bad guy in Thunder in Paradise. Many of the episodes were filmed around the various lands of Epcot with Hogan and company fighting a whole cast of villains that were usually played by pro wrestlers in disguise.

Ratatouille is such a good movie. Remy is our little rat friend and the main character. His human friend is Linguini Alfredo (that’s seriously his name). Remy has made it to the restaurant Gusteau’s (pronounced Goo-stow’s). It was named and started by famous chef Gusteau whom Remy idolizes and is a huge fan of and one of the reasons why he's at the restaurant. Remy is also a very good cook thanks to him and uses Linguini, who cannot cook, as a bit of a human host in order to cook and show off his skills. I hope to one day go to real life France, especially Paris, as it seems very pretty their and I love French deserts and other pastry treats from their. I will say the food ratatouille does make an appearance in the film. The Kawaii museum is so Kawaii! It’s pronounced similarly to Hawai’i (meaning it’s pronounced as Kah-why-ee.) I remember this phrase being super popular in the mid to late 2010s.

Honestly I’m loving this. You ought to watch Ratatouille, but the whole “I didn’t know kawaii was a thing” was fun, and in general seeing it all through fresh eyes was awesome. I love Disney but I have been so wrapped up in it for so long I forget what it’s like to not know all the references. I will say, I too didn’t know about all those museums. I’m ashamed to say I’m too busy cramming in rides 😂

From what I understand with the Morocco pavilion, the country of Morocco stopped supporting the pavilion about a year ago and Disney has been slowly taking it over and reopening things, this is why most of the shops and the restaurant in the back of the pavilion are closed.

German tradition with the Pickles on your Christmas Tree. After all the kids go to bed the parents hide a pickle on the Christmas tree. It could be high or low or deep somewhere in the branches. The first child to find the pickle hanging somewhere on the Christmas tree Christmas morning gets a special treat or gift. My boys are now in their 30s and still want my wife and i to hide the pickle every year.

Little Germany always gives me a chuckle, as it is actually Little Bavaria. And Bavarians love to see themselves as their own little club, independent from Germany. And I have honestly no idea about the Christmas Pickle. Never heard of it in connection of German Christmas. But I love the around the World concept, because it seems so much more relaxed and slower going. You simply stroll along and discover things.

@@ellenwoodruff4518 thank you for the explanation. Despite the claim to the contrary, the Christmas Pickle is not a German tradition. And most Germans will agree. I connect it with American Christmas traditions. Maybe it had been a very small and very local tradition in Eastern Germany, at the centres for glass blowing. But I believe nowadays more Americans know about the Christmas Pickle than Germans do.

But in Montréal, you have to have French fries there. They are better there than anywhere else. And there’s a lot of Creme Glacé stores every other street. Which means ice cream.
