Su actually does a really good job singing this live.

Good reaction and I think all your thoughts were perfectly valid. You have already been told the live performances of this song have Su singing and hitting all those notes that seem to have been autotuned into the studio recording - there is some backing track with harmonies and maybe effects or autotune as well, but she slays it live and it was one of the (many) hi-lights of the shows on the European and UK tour at the start of this year. You said about how 'Starlight' effected you when you first heard it. Koba has said about the "Trilogy of Lights" ('Starlight being the first of that trilogy representing loss and mourning). The last two songs on the album and the last two of the trilogy are 'Shine' representing acceptance and coming to terms with loss and finally 'Arkadia' which is about moving on and looking ahead to the future. Personally I think 'Shine' is just beautiful, 'Arkadia' heads back into the realms or power metal, not entirely unlike 'Road of Resistance'.

The part you said about Moa, I agree. Their production team and producer Koba should let Moa sing more in their future albums, maybe could give her own single since now there are only two members. She's a grown young adult now. Even though she doesnt have a powerful voice like Su, but pretty sure she could hold on her own.

To be fair, BxMxC's single MV only came out because of its overwhelming positive reception. Technically, it came after these singles : Starlight, Distortion, Elevator Girl, Pa Pa Ya, Shanti Shanti Shanti, Da Da Dance. This song comes out as a UFO. It skyrocketted to my 2nd all-time favourite BABYMETAL track. A banger for sure and for having it heard live, I thought the roof was gonna collapse on my head. This is BABYMETAL at its best.

Brother, I get where you come from. But, with Babymetal , it always and has always been the live performance. And that is a storm of the heaviest sound, with Su-metal driving this without auto tune, and a choreography that is pure power. I saw this song performed February this year, couldn't believe what was going on. (I wrote this before elsewhere, so forgive me) I talked to the people working there after the show. They were "happy it wasn't every night as crazy as this". Directly referring to what happened when they played this track. Shows me some music just refuses to be recorded, but has to be experienced.

Nice reaction again & thanks from Japan 有難う💛。I have to confess that I did not believe this challenging song would be played live. But they did it flawlessly with sharp choreo. I had to beg our Metal Queen & Princess for their forgiveness. The lyrics do not make sense a lot even to a Japanese like me. There are many word plays and puns. For example, rhymes "hayaRI - sutaRI - kidoRI - mibuRI - tebuRI ; KamaSHI - akaSHI - sagaSHI; time Line - punch Line ; ... etc." And a combination of antonym and rhyme "noroSHI (= signal fire) & hikeSHI (= extinguish); Wack Wack & WAKU WAKU(= excited with joy)" And an antonym "Real & Fake". So my conclusion is, as Su-Metal said before, "Don't think, Feel!"

Nice reaction!! BxMxC is BABY METAL CYPHER. I highly recommend seeing it live show as well. - BABYMETAL - BxMxC [Live at Stockholm, Sweden 2/3/20] METAL GALAXY WORLD TOUR - European Leg - BABYMETAL - ELYSEE MONTMARTRE PARIS - BxMxC - 1080P 60FPS - BxMxC Full Version A little bit about the song. The 337拍子(san san nana byoushi=3-3-7 beat) is used in the song, which is commonly used in Japan. It's actually four beats, but the last beat is the rest. In Japan, it is often used for cheering. In Japan, this "間(ma=pause)" is very important, and it's everywhere in conversation, music and movies. Wanna Wanna Wanna (be) Wanna Wanna Wanna (be) Wanna Wanna Wanna Wanna Wanna Wanna Wanna (be) And a little bit about the lyrics. 的な(てきな=tekina) is XXXwise. For example, 時間的な(jikan=time tekina=wise) is timewise. Or maybe "such as". それな(sorena) is "That's it." (I'm sorry if this is a weird English explanation.) This is also used in the first clap of BLACK BABYMETAL's GJ. BLACK BABYMETAL is a unit of YUI & MOA. 天下一武道会(tenkaichi budoukai) is DRAGON BALL. 天下一メタル武道会(tenkaichi metal budoukai) is BABYMETAL.(≧∇≦) "LIVE AT BUDOKAN RED NIGHT" is 天下一メタル武道会ファイナル(tenkaichi metal budoukai final) at the 日本武道館(Nippon Budokan) on 2014/03/01. I hope you continue to enjoy your BABYMETAL. Put your Kitsune🦊 up! from Japan. (Translation by DeepL)

this song was originally a japan only release but BM started to perform it at some of their shows and it garnered quite a following from western audiences so they decided to release it as a single to western audiences and make a music video on top of that, so when you were saying it's more like a B-side you were kinda right :P also i can hear the reasoning for the autotuned voice as the song instrumetal is pretty much all rhythm so they needed something to create the melody while Su-metal was singing so (i'm guessing) they used the thought process of "instead of filling the track with more lead or synths to create a melody we will just use the melody from Su's voice as the synth", i quite enjoy the song wouldn't say it's one of their best but i definitely jam to it

I love LOVE Metal Galaxy, I thought it was one of my favorite albums last year, and I got into a lot of bands and heard a lot of albums from those bands back catalogs. It moved on their sounds sufficiently to feel like they are progressing(considering how long between albums they tend to be, its really needed), and it lost nothing from the fact that it is still a Babymetal album(well we lost Yui, that sucks). Definitely checkout the rest of the album.

⚡ 💕 / 🕶️ 🎤 🍗 It's fine if this wasn't your favorite. If you're not being insulting (and clearly you're not), most BABYMETAL fans are fine with an honest opinion. I still like this one a lot. I wouldn't want the entire album to all be like this, but that's certainly not the case. 'Metal Galaxy' is probably their most diverse album to date, which is saying something when you're talking about BABYMETAL.

I can't agree more with you about the fans. I think it is impossible to be a fan of Babymetal and not accept willingly that there are different tastes, based on the differences between the same songs and styles of Babymetal. And of course we know very well what intransigence is.

I agree with you, I'd like to see more Moa too. The thing is, the 2 of them may be the core of the group now that Yui has left, but it's still a 3 person show. During live performances Yui's spot is filled by a rotating trio of girls. The reality is that the song wasn't written for just Su and Moa. It was written with the intention that their would be 3 performers on stage, Su in the middle and Moa +1 of the 3 girls doing the usual 'scream and dance' portion of the show. Again, I agree with you. I'd LOVE to see Su and Moa work as a duo some times. I'd also LOVE to see Moa take center stage more often, with songs written just for her, you know, like they used to do with Black Babymetal back in the day. But anyway, it is what it is.

Great reaction and I specifically watch your channel because you're not afraid to provide an honest analysis of what you're hearing and what you like. Some will disagree, some will agree, but at the end, it's your opinions and view and if people don't like it, they can watch someone else. As to this song, at first I wasn't a huge fan but after more listens I now really like it. Just like the latest album, it's a lot more different and experimental then their last two albums. I was pleased as it shows that they are still growing and willing to try different things. The worst thing a band can do is to stay static. Think about David Bowie, he was constantly evolving and never stayed the same, which allowed him to continually create new and different music and stay relevant over his 50 year career.

With Babymetal, every song is different. So this one is kind of a dubstep song, fine. It was originally a Japan exclusive, but fans everywhere loved it and they killed it in the live shows, so they decided to make a proper video out of it. IMO they pulled it off. If you want a more traditional but grown up Babymetal song, there's Starlight, Arkadia, Distortion or Kagerou on Metal Galaxy. As they always have, they do a whole lot of different stuff, and somehow they manage to pull it off.

I'm very happy to see you do some Babymetal reactions! I've been a fan since 2014. I've seen them live 5 times. Don't worry. Your criticisms are ligit. I also agree Moa needs more lines. Moa has the voice of a angel. Headbanger is a coming of age song. So when a show landed on Yui's or Moa's birthday Su would give her mic to let the birthday girl be the lead vocal. So maybe look for that.

This song for me was so weird on the first listen, but it's now my favourite from the album. Your take on it is valid, but I don't agree. I can, however, 100% agree with you on the Moa thing. Even though Yui's gone, the dynamic hasn't changed much. It's probably become worse with her barely singing live now, and having almost all studio vocals with tons of effects. I love her and she's my favourite member, but it does feel weird sometimes. As fans we feel how much all members mean to the group, but considering what each member contributes, I want her to become less replaceable if that makes sense.

I've loved basically all their songs. They all are completely different and going in with expectations will just ruin it for you. Also they don't do autotune, and if they do is just for the nature of this song. Just backing track to make up for the high pace choreo. But other than that it's all just training. They run on treadmills and do HIIT workouts while singing to learn to maintain even when fatigued or hit a certain way every performance. Don't quote me, I heard this second hand about an interview on how they do what they do. But yeah it's more synth and track. Also this is a trap metal song. Also FINALLY! FINALLY someone else said what we all need wanting to say about Moa lol. She got fuckin hot dude 🤣🤷🏻‍♂️. And I agree Moa needs more spotlight if they're not gonna replace Yui. I have to agree with your assessment: Moametal needs to move from "scream and dance" into center stage with Su-metal. However, I would also make this observation: it could be that Moametal simply hasn't the pipes to run with Su-metal - something to think about. Also (and I mentioned this on another react video to this song), "BxMxC" is a really good tune (who woulda thought Japanese rap metal?!) but it isn't "Babymetal". It could be said that both Su and Moa have "outgrown" that name (perhaps "Adolesmetal"?). Also, I don't think they can be considered a "kawaii" band any more - they have clearly left the "cuteness" behind them and, sadly, that was one quality that made them so unique. I have come to the conclusion that "Babymetal" is now just another Japanese metal band albeit a damn good one.

Hey, no one will hate you for being honest. Find a good live version of this song, without Autotune and it will make more sense. Moa still has less on this than some other songs, but you have to understand that the group was built around Su's vocals. Moa and Yui were there to provide, not so much backing vocals, but interjecting vocals and the blistering choreography. Su has also often pre-recorded her own harmonies to her vocals to get the sound she wants. This has always been their M.O.A (not to be confused with Moa).

I'm not a fan of the auto-tune either. Fortunately they don't really use it in the live version. In (an) interview(s) she said her and Moa had a lot more input with the production of the third album. And she wanted to be a singer/songwriter, when she was 13 - 15 at least, so maybe we'll get more of that some day in the future. Absolutely agree with you on Moa. Like someone else already said, there's not much of her vocals in the Metal Galaxy album unfortunately and I think a lot more backing track harmonies in live shows when it comes to the songs on the third album. But she seems content with her role, at least that's what she says in interviews. She wants to be the support, not the one in front, alone in the spotlight. But I think they need to give her a bigger role soon, at least something like a "duet" or more songs with Su and Moa singing harmonies together. She's a too talented singer and performer to just be doing the same things on stage the "unnamed support dancers", aka Avengers, do. Who by the way need mics, they are very talented in their own right. Metal Galaxy strays away a bit from metal in my opinion, they experimented a lot with different sounds and influences. At least the first half of the album. Took a while to get used to it as a whole for me as metal fan. Which doesn't mean I don't like the album, just that it took a few listens to some songs to get behind them. By the way, I actually heard your use of Starlight as your outro song in one of your last Band-Maid videos. The other two songs of the "Trilogy of Lights", Shine and Arkadia, are amazing, too. Edit: the 9-string guitar they released a few months back and which gets used in this song is pretty sick, espguitars.co.jp/collaborate/13613/ .

Hey buddy. Just a bit of information for you. So this track was an exclusive for the Japanese market on the last album, Metal Galaxy. It's only now been released for the international audience, but most of the fans already knew it haha. I agree it's not the strongest track, but luckily it's not the lead of any upcoming album. It's the seventh single and video from the last album. Coming up next, they're doing a best-of album release in December. With Covid, they didn't really get a chance to finish their tour cycle. So it remains to be seen what comes next, but I think it'll still be some time before we get any taste of a new record. They are featured on the new Bring Me the Horizon thing that's coming out just in time for Halloween. This song seems pretty divisive. I don't hate it, I think it's reasonably fun but no classic. Compare it to Ijime Dame Zettai or something. But yeah, this video is cool as shit. You should see some of the 10 year anniversary promo shots that are coming out in Japan. It makes me think that if the Covid situation is just gonna drag on, they should just go all in and make a Babymetal movie.

This is probably my favorite song off the newest album. Made even more so with this video. But your reaction doesn't piss me off or anything. It's your reaction. Another thing is this is one of those songs that grows on you. Anyway. I've recommended this before but gonna do it again. Do yourself a favor and check out some Passcode. They do use a lot of vocoder effects which may put you off. Since you're doing all these Korean girl groups you should check out some of the better japanese girl groups and Passcode is right up there at the top. Try Taking You Out or or they just did a very cool cover of Mantra originally by Bring Me The Horizon.

Thanks for doing this reaction. Always good to hear fan comments too. They did recently celebrate their 10th anniversary. "I hope at some point we get to hear her voice just natural" Yes ! watch a live performance, she does almost all of those instances herself. :-) I don't mind to head Su-metal do a full rap song, it's great to hear Su-metal can deliver such a song that way. As we know the girls are less involved in the writing process, but we know from interview the flows are Su-metal's own. Well, it is the third MV of this album: Distortion, Starlight, BxMxC. We pretty much all agree on Moametal's part, but she has grown a significant amount in her dancing abilities and I suspect has been very busy with teaching other dancers to fit Yuimetal's old spot. I think that's fine, I do hope she gets more parts in the upcoming album though. Many of us are hard to piss off though, we'll watch your Babymetal reactions for sure. It's a very eclectic album. BxMxC was first only on the Japanese release and is now a single for everyone. Don't forget the song from the second song from the Japanese release: ↑↓←→BBAB Hopefully you'll watch live performances in a lot of cases. Because Babymetal live is best Babymetal. :-)

Also, about Moa's role being more in the background (despite doing many backing vocals) I suspect Yui departure changing plans for the album. I think it was already work in progress but had to change things along the way. Let's see when (if) next album drops to see how it turns.

They do underutilize Moa. If you listen to her performance of Headbanger from her 20th Birthday concert, she's really grown into her voice. She's not as good as Su, but she should certainly be used as more than what she is now.

before i watched I had a feeling what you might have to say... and I was right :) nowhere near of my fav babymetal songs. I really don't feel it. sadly it goes for the whole "Galaxy" album for me. And I've known them/listened to their stuff since before the "Sonicsphere" performance... I really like their first album, as gimmicky as it is, it's pretty great. I LOVE the second one; there are some songs I don't like that much ("Road of Resistance" being one of the low-tier ones for me), but overall it's a great album. Can't get into "Galaxy"... 100% agree on Moa. She was always my favorite of the bunch. And yeah we get some special treats like Moas "Headbanger" once in a while... but she is horribly underused. I really hope it will change in the future. Su is great and all, so yeah keep her as lead singer... but they really should give Moa her chances to shine, she deserves to be in a spotlight. Long-time BM fans know already she can pull it off - just let her :)

I to want more Moa, I hope she gets a song she can call her own soon, something written and tailored to her and her strengths. Let’s see what she can do as a adult singer, when she is let off the chain. Also I think they should change up how they “present” the Babymetal roster if they are going to stick with the Avengers and not straight up replace Yui. They could have the dynamic presented as Su Metal is the Queen (fans already call her this), Moa is her Right hand/General, the Avengers as their Guards. I think this could work because they are all about theatrics onstage, and it would allow for even more play with their lore.

You are raising an issue that has bothered me a bit as well at times. It seems that Moa is standing in Su's shadow a bit. On the other hand, it doesn't seem to bother them, so I guess it's fine. I still wish they'll give Moa more singing parts in the future. This song is not the first single from the Metal Galaxy album. Distortion, Starlight, "Pa Pa Ya" and "Elevator Girl" had already been released as singles, "Shanti Shanti Shanti" and "Da Da Dance" have official music videos. If you look through those, you'll notice that BxMxC is by no means what they are sounding like today. It's just one of many styles they sound great at, just like it has always been with them. BTW, you may want to check out a live version of BxMxC as well, it doesn't have the autotune and doesn't suffer in the least.

Su does cast a big shadow, largely because she is just so good at what she does. Additionally I think Moa and Yui’s (& now the Avengers) very important contribution to Babymetal as a whole gets overlooked. They are Babymetal’s “Hype men” they are the ones getting the crowds on their feet, they get the chants going. It’s why their live performances are so much more than a regular metal group, they fuel the audience with their energy and enthusiasm and elevate the group as a whole. They aren’t just back up singers and dancers, they are an essential component to what makes Babymetal stand out from the rest.

I think it is the third vid from the new album. Starlight was from the new album. There's also Distortion. BxMxC was just a Japanese exclusive until recently, so I think the vid was to officially introduce it to a western audience, and to give the fans a little sumthin sumthin since they can't tour. It is the first vid with the girls in it since Yui left. I do hope they give Moa a bigger role if they don't fill Yui's spot officially. I mean, they've been rotating the Avengers, but I don't think anyone knows what they are doing with that long term. But Moa's just amazing and deserves a bigger spotlight. If you haven't checked out Distortion yet, that's my rec.
