@@nilarene2088 keep in mind, Judas KNEW what the priests were doing, AND he knew that Yeshuah is the Messiah. He thought that by doing what he was doing, Yeshuah would rise up to fight. @@johnholder4208 I agree but don't think "atonement" so much as he couldn't think of breathing when he did that and it didn't go as planned. Jesus in John, he tells him to do what you must quickly. Might have confused him. But that action, to end your life, means he saw only blackness. So sad

There is a danger, I say, of thinking of Jesus not as a man but an embodied angel. That is not what John meant by “the word made flash”. That does not mean that I know “what he was metaphysically, but that I know what he is not. He is a man; he is also God. God incarnate. That is not something even the angels know ny nature. I think God had to reveal Himself even to them, but when he did not even all they could accept Him. Those who accepted him. like Michael somehow “cast down” Lucifer who regarded" himself "as the highest, and perhaps as the Creator by worshiping THE True Lord”.

You can tell Dallas Jenkins is a master craftsman and a teacher and he takes pride in his craftsmanship. How do I know? Like a master painter, he opens up his canvas and explains the master strokes, the risks he took. Most major strokes work, some he regrets. But it’s those “imperfections” that people like me love. No regrets, Dallas. Just keep it coming. Hollywood May not (yet) recognize your master craftsmanship, but we (the people) do. God bless Dallas Jenkins✌️😇❤️👍😎.

May I redirect you, friend, that if you were to dig deeper into Scripture, you'll find that God intends for perfection to be available to us even here now on earth. Maybe not in every aspect, but most certainly in character. Because if you agree with me, that Christ, who was wholly human, yet fully God, was able to achieve perfection in character where we failed, in order to take our place at the cross; then you would agree also that the opportunities He had in overcoming are the same that we have access to. Therefore, perfection is possible, as long as we accept Him to pardon our past failures, and let Him help us to reproduce perfection in character afterward, yet still here, and now on earth to His soon return. Now, I'm aware that we may share different beliefs and doctrines in the faith, and we are at different walks, at different areas in our separate walk with our God, but do give God the chance to reveal things that may seem outrageous to you now, but will make sense if you seek Him more. Okay? Wishing the best for your pursuit of the truth that is found in Christ, and the advancement to your walk with the Lord. :)

I agree, and I think it also "should" help keep people grounded in the fact that it is widely recognized by everyone on the project and regularly shouted from the rooftops that this IS a TV series and not meant to replace the bible itself. The intent is that it makes people want to read and discover the Bible on their own and dive deeper. It sure has inspired me to learn more. I put "should" in quotes because despite that regular discussion, people will still be haters and make accusations. Ignore those criticisms Dallas and crew. You are doing God's work!!! I love that you explain the care and the pains that you take to make, not just each scene, but each "word", every gesture; pause; smirk; smile; surroundings, EVERY DETAIL, have significance, meaning, truth, or the writers "creativity". It's all so wonderful. But these short videos you make just bring it all together and is so impactful to the listener. It's truly priceless. I pray for you and your crew and your family that God gives you rest and relaxation, sweet sleep and strength. He's already blessed you all with the talent and creativity and you can see and feel the Holy Spirits presence, but my prayer for all of you is for God to sustain you. We need The Chosen so desperately right now. And btw, I've seen beginning to end of both seasons 4 times and I didn't catch what Simon said. Personally I never had any frustration for the sermon on the mount “practice” even though theologically I don’t think Jesus needed Matthew even slightly to develop the sermon on the mount and Jesus knew what He was going to say and was going to say it perfectly because He is God. I looked at it slightly differently. Jesus was doing this for Matthew’s sake to grow and learn. I looked at this scene that this was all done for Matthew to grow in understanding of God. (As they’ve shown previously Matthew is woefully versed in scripture compared to the other apostles.) So I feel like it wasn’t necessary for Jesus to “practice” but fitting for him to do that for Matthew. Especially culminating in the finalization of the beatitudes and Matthew being there to love God and seem like he finally understands.

Watching the episode I never once thought of it like Jesus needing Matthew's help, but I saw it as a moment for Jesus to spend time with Matthew. As a character Matthew often finds it hard to connect and be connected with the other disciples, we've seen him and Simon, and how he's been resented for his past job of a tax collector, as well as just the other disciples not necessarily understanding him, which in the way that you've chosen to portray Matthew (as Autistic) happens. Only a few besides Jesus (e.g Phillip) are understanding/patient etc with him. So with Jesus having Matthew be there with him while he's thinking about his sermon, it's a benefit for Matthew, a break from the stressful world of human relationships and a chance for him to spend time with Jesus, not only to learn and understand scripture more, but to feel Jesus' love and have some one on one time. I really like it and love how it's a big part of the episodes. Depending on what's going on in people's life, where they're coming from, depends how they see/interpret these scenes. For me at the moment, what's going on in my life, is why I've interpreted the scene that way, and why I love it so much, because it feels like me spending time with Jesus, and reminds me that he is my break, the one I can turn to for rest and safety, that he loves me and understands me even when others don't. Thank you 😊

My daughter is a writer, and both of us love "The Chosen." We "were" looking for Judas, as you said, and his eyes lighting up at the bag of money was a tip off. He was so innocent and sweet-literally the more honest of the two men. We totally approved of your handling of Judas and don't think you should regret it. If you had left the money issue out of the equation, it would have made it more unbelievable that this Judas had a weakness which would end up in his failure. We liked that he was a good and likeable person, but also appreciated seeing what would eventually be his downfall.

Dallas, I wanted to write this after watching the making of ‘walking on the water’, but it most definitely fits here too. Dallas, you are a genius at so many different things and on such a high level! But seeing the crew and what they produce and create, I think I have to say that all of your workers from the actors, writers, editors, creators, builders, sound and light technicians, engineers who figure out what you are trying to portray, painters, designers, musicians, artists, wardrobe - oh, I cannot remember all who work with you - are all geniuses in their field and are blessed to have you as their brilliant leader! But the unreal level of dedication and loyalty and longing of people around the globe is the poured-out anointing of the Holy Spirit! I have always wondered how the Bible would say that every eye will see and ear will hear in every tribe, language, people and nation the Gospel of Jesus Christ before the end of time. I could never imagine how that could happen! But, Dallas Jenkins, God has His hand on you and He has prepared and chosen you for this purpose and we thank you for saying to JESUS, “I WILL FOLLOW”

One of my favorite scenes - "Judas." Instant reaction: Aww man. It made me sad. I felt sorry for him. I didn't expect that. Judas has always been presented as a "bad guy" when he could very well have been someone who sincerely wanted to follow Jesus but took a wrong turn. I don't have a problem with Jesus "working on" his sermon but, for those who do, maybe you could flip it and look at it as Jesus doing it not for himself, but for Matthew. I got the impression that Shmuel is beginning to have doubts, that he's set in motion something beyond what he wanted.

The scenes between Jesus and Matthew are among my favourites. Jesus took the time to help Matthew understand, but he also involved him in something in which his giftings for details and meticulous record-keeping could be put to use. It's extremely plausible, and it shows, more than anything, Jesus's heart for the individual. Then he turns to Matthew, who's writing, and says, "Blessed are YOU, when you are persecuted..." WOW!

The intercutting of Jesus' words, when he was rehearsing the Sermon on the Mount, with how those words applied to the hardships of each of his followers, was probably the most emotionally riveting thing I have seen in years on either the small or big screen. I have heard the Sermon on the Mount for many years in church and have, quite frankly, grown numb to it. I always felt it expressed some laudable ideals, but it never touched me so viscerally. Thank you Dallas, cast and crew for really bringing these words to life, and making them have the emotional impact they should have.

I was able to remember all 12 of Jesus' disciples names just now to show myself, yes all 12 are finally here! @@TheChosenSeries Of course, he did say he showed at least the Beatitudes, and we can understand that point of view, but the fact that he had to point it out (for a number of people) is telling. Since more than one person experienced a sense of shock about it, and even, in this case, a sense of profound and deeply-felt disappointment, I myself-as an onlooker-wished that @The Chosen had been able to validate or empathize with the personal and emotional sense of loss expressed. I’m trusting that Jesus, our living Lord, will reveal Himself in this instance to personally bring comfort to this person and meet whatever is needed-far beyond what a mere portrayal can be expected to do. Truly, “no one understands like Jesus; He’s a friend beyond compare.” We can meet Him at the throne of mercy, He is waiting for each one of us there. ❤️

I actually really liked that moment with the Judas and the coins it felt like just the right amount of foreshadowing. I actually have two theories about how he will end up. A bigger give away was when Judas said that he wanted his life and actions to resonate for all time. How many other characters have had such an impact on our understanding of life and have become so synonymous with one type of action. Therein is a warning for us all, and it is terrifying, for if Jesus is just in our outward appearance and not in our hearts, we too can fall just like him. We all think that we are nice people and would never do anything so hideous as betrayal, until we do. The lesson that Judas couldn't learn is that Jesus came to forgive him. This character and his development may be a wake up call for many decent and good people who have been under the gospel message for a lifetime but who have never come to love Jesus unto salvation. And for those who love Jesus with all of our heart to come to Him when we mess up.

The preparation for the sermon with Matthew is one of my favourites because it reflects the process of writing speeches. Jesus already had a lot of material but needed to sequence them. When Matthew critiqued, it was like the voice in our heads questioning how this could be better. Eventually, the final product had flow. The beatitudes helped answer the audience question "what's in it for me?" The last beatitude on persecution must have felt like an impossible request similar to "offer the other cheek". But the next part is the brilliance of flow: "You are the salt of the earth..." Matthew's a-ha reaction reflects our realization. Even the Sermon on the Mount was great speech-writing. Thank you for illustrating that process!

Initially I was taken back by the scene of Jesus rehearsing the sermon on the mount. But after hearing your comments Dallas I understand now. While I was mulling over your comments the Lord brought to my mind two scriptures to settle it in my heart. Philippians 2:5-8...He gave up His divine privileges.... Matthew 26:53-54.... don't you realize that I could ask My Father for thousands of angels... Jesus chose to set aside some attributes of His divinity. This scene in The Chosen really helped me understand this. God bless you all 🙏✨💖

Dallas, your scene with Matthew working with Jesus illustrates a very crucial point. God doesn't need any of us to get the message of the Gospel out to a needy world. But it is the divine wisdom of God that He uses us, fallen sinners saved by Grace, to share the message we have received. Not angels, not usually dreams and visions, but people. It is for our benefit and blessing. Matthew was growing in his understanding and knowledge of the Savior as he worked through this exercise.

We never consider why Jesus allowed certain disciples like Peter to experience events like the Transfiguration. But Matthew being with him while he prepares the beatitudes gives us really good insight. And I love Dallas highlighting that it was for their benefits. Especially in light of everything the disciples would go through individually. Jesus was aware of all his people and picked particular moments to deal with their issues through love, grace and truth. The intimate moments is what draws us even nearer to him. So they mean more than anyone realize. Because it's the part of Jesus so many of us want to experience.
