Here we go, SEASON 2! The Chronicles Vlog is back now for 2016 documenting our many adventures in Japan! I take my annual trip to Tokyo, Japan for the 2016 Tokyo Auto Salon event and later travel to Osaka to spend time with friends. This time around, I have some first-timers along for the journey along with the usual suspects who you've come to know well from my other Vlogs.
After Tsuneo Sonoda from Impact Magic crashed his EK9 Civic during testing last year, we had no idea if he was ever going to be able to build cars again. The wreck was pretty bad and he is an older guy, so we weren't sure how well he would recover. He disappeared for awhile but recently reemerged with an entirely brand new shop in a different part of Kyoto, Japan. There are reasons that we won't get into as to exactly why he had to move shop but he's made some pretty serious changes in his life. He has since retired from the Osaka Kanjo scene and is now focused on building his business with a focus mainly on cars other than Hondas. We still remain in contact with him and he invited us to check out his new shop when he found out we were visiting Japan again. In this Vlog, you get a glimpse of his new spot as well as some of the cars he's currently working on. The EK9 you see in the video is an entirely new build since he wrecked his other car. No idea what he plans to do with it now that he has retired from driving on the streets. Perhaps it will be a dedicated track car now, only time will tell. We visit with a Porsche 911 Carrera RS that is being worked on and also look at a Honda Civic build in the making that was gutted and prepped by famed Japanese tuning company "Garage Work".
