I want to build a deck with that Master and Mirror March. Also, Norin the Wary becomes very funny with this commander. Make a token of him, and now you get a triggered ability to trigger with pretty much everything that happens, since the token won't exile itself. Idk how you use that to win, but it has to be possible.

A positive about Ojer is that the person taking the damage chooses how damage replacement effects work, so it doesn't work well with damage doublers or triplers. Just have ojer effect last and it either doesn't activate or doesn't hurt as much as doubling the damage.

Master is so fun to play. I had a game where I didn't cast my commander a single time but with the helkite courser, I was able to make more and more of them. He's so cool. I died to 60 dmg masters from someone mob ruling me but I love it. Really feel like a raid boss.

You should make an alternative to kill on sight commander video. I have a Mahadi deck that’s all about sacrificing, wiping and gaining mana like Rowan but at a slower rate. Fun but balanced for counter play and also Rakdos.

1) i feel like most rowan players will be taken out with a well timed shock spell though :3 2) agreed 3) how can you possibly advocating for something that can make a 1/1 gingerbread Emrakul??? 4) nice addition of the Etali consideration, i've been seeing the "What does this do with etali" show up frequently 5,6) it's nice to see wizards recognize that six drop commanders are rarely cast more than once in a game and to make something that helps with that 7) I like how flexible it is. Equipment, anthems, counters, auras, exalted and other temp boosts all of them are permanently useful when you attack. IT's fun! Also silly with Evra

Hylda opposition Ashnod's Altar. Tap hylda for opposition pay 1 make token. Tap token sac token make 2 mana spend 1 to make another token. Net half as many tokens as your opponents have creatures or that same amount of colorless mana. since the last token you make stays untapped, do it again at the end of each opponent's upkeep.

Well now my silly Bernard deck will probably not run if he’s been labeled kill on site lol. I set my deck up to remove legend rule and clone Bernard then, with token doublers just setup way too many tokens for the price of one death. I’ve yet to play it but I didn’t think he had gotten to the point of Bernard must die at tables already.

Having faced Hylda the other day in Commander, yes kill her on sight. Sucked too because I had a board wipe for any creature with no +1+1 counters, but they smartly did give their creatures the counters so I couldn't use it.

@@francischungfs tons of cheap scrye cards, cards that scrye when creatures enter the Battlefield, landfall cards that Make creatures that trigger more scryes, lands that scrye entering the Battlefield, just churn through your deck getting more lands and triggers, and finding the pieces you need. Often if left unchecked for a turn or two my budget list will dump all land in the deck into the Battlefield and have ungodly accounts of creatures

Loot/ self mill along with cards that can interact with your graveyard like Serra paragon, conduit of worlds, reclaim and many more. It can get out of hand.

Rowan gets access to storm of hellfire and that's simply not okay. And BERNARD...has access to persist cards and +1/+1 etb artifacts and enchantments, so it can also just go infinite.

TL;DW: every fun or unique commander that doesn't suck + rowan & will. The shocking revelation is that decks pop off when they're allowed to do what they're intended to do. Turns out people do some pretty crazy and unfair things in commander. At this rate there's more "kill-on-sight" commanders than there are bad commanders. I think "kill-on-sight" has lost it's meaning, just like overpowered/broken.

Nah, it does show the freaking power creep in the last years though. Hasbro desperately wants to milk MTG as it's last cash cow, thus pushing the boundaries of power creep incredibly hard in the last couple of years. It's sad to see.

@@genericnameinc It shows so much. I haven't bought any new cards since like Midnight Hunt. My decks are so underpowered that I don't even show up for FNM. I'll just get curbstomped. I took one of my best decks out. Opponent rolls up with the new Vorenclex commander. My deck is immediately shut down (tokens and counter deck) and they win turn 7 with the Vorenclex swinging for 30 trample into 3 2/2 Squirrels.

Other potential ones I played against that could be added to this list are: Yenna, Redtooth Regent: When she is here, something really nasty will be copied soon and you really, really don't want that to happen. The War Doctor: He might seem like just a kind old man that throws out small blasts in addition to attacking, but 2 turns later he can melt your face with 13 damage extra. Sauron the Dark Lord: Unless you can kill a 10/10 each turn somehow, he needs to die. NOW. NO MATTER YOUR SACRIFICE!

You can. When you cast the spell, you declare how large X is going to be. So, let's say X is 30 and it costs BB on top. Then, you use the commander's ability to reduce black spell's cost by 20. You try to pay the 30BB, but 20 is already paid, so now you only pay 10BB.

Just an fyi to get benefit from untapping and retapping Rowan you would have to loose more life than you already have that turn. As you tap her she checks for the total life, so if you do it twice you still have only lost the same amount so it wouldn’t double. Same for her brother Will

Rowan only works at Sorcery speed. So you can't punish anyone. You can only seriously maim or ruin someone's game on your turn.

Moreover, the reduced cost is only for generic mana, not for colored mana. For example, with an Exsanguinate, you still have to pay the 2 black to cast it.

Red/Black is arguably a deadlier color combination than white/blue, but Azorious does have blue in it, so you will be in control of the game. So, I'd pick Will as the better commander. Also, life gain is going to put you in a better place long term than life loss.

What’s with all the 2 and 3-drop Commanders lately? It feels like another stupid cost arms race popping off, just to push cards. Remember when busted Commanders were 5 and 6-drops? I remember when busted Commanders cost more than your average Instant. *Bant* can’t take advantage of *Token Creation* ??? Doubling Season, Parallel Lives, Primal Vigor, that absolutely foul Living Fractal hiding in the 99, Anointed Procession, about a MILLION Simic Replication-triggers… I don’t think I’ve ever heard a more poorly considered statement, with respect to MtG, and those are some BIG words! As Maldhound might say, “You’re thinking too small!” Edit: Am I the only one who thinks The Master Multiplied would be a lot more problematic as a Tutored for 99 in something that can get the Blue in there? It feels like a card meant to synergize with Blue, but it’s in weird colors…

Aside from the Ojers, this list is pretty bad. Having so many commanders to choose from for this list, you had to choose the ones that are not even a thing. I don't doubt they might be strong, but saying they are "a kill on sight" is an overstatement. Actual "kill on sight" cards do not need so much set up, they are the whole set up on their own, or they just need 1 more card to instantly win.
