We got the car to run, we got the car to drive, now let's see if it will make a trip to the gas station! It is around a ten mile round trip, hopefully our repairs to the cooling system, brake system, and the swapped engine will make it!

Sweet car. Last of the steel bumpered C3s. And my favorite color, white. I have owned 3 C3 Corvettes, a 1974, 1976, and a 1977. No steel bumper cars. They were out of my price range. I bought the '77 in 1990. One thing I learned right a way is that older Corvettes need a complete suspension rebuild, front and rear, ALL new body mounts, ALL new brakes, meaning every single part replaced, and ALL new steering parts. The '77 was a beautiful car, obviously had been garaged and taken care of cosmetically, but every single rubber part on it had rotted, the ball joints, tie rods, and that hydraulic cylinder for the power steering were worn out, all 4 unlined brake calipers were rusted and leaking, and the car only had 67K miles on it. GM quality was pretty bad back then. It's one saving grace was it had absolutely no rust. It was an original AZ car. But I spent more on repairs than I paid for the car.

Been with you since nearly the beginning Ben, and I gottta say...I love this darn thing. You saved it from certain death, and she is alive again. Since I am a sentimentalist I hope the car continues to be improved, but I understand the $ involved in that...having spent most of my 63 years falling in love with cars has cost me a small fortune. Anyway, well done, and Happy Holidays to you and your family.

I grew up in St. Louis when the C3's were rolling (crawling) off the line downtown. It was like opening a centerfold to a Playboy magazine when my Scout troop visited the plant in the fall of 1971--maybe about the time this sweet heart was being assembled. I don't think men, in any other country on this planet (other than maybe Italy or Germany or France or England) hold in their hearts the affinity with which we have, as red-blooded American men, as we do with our cars.

A big block chrome bumper C3 corvette is my dream car. I love your video series when you have done what you seem to be doing with this one where you take A C3 from a jalopy and turn it I to rather decent and solid driving car. I’ll watch your videos like this all day long.

Landon did great as your camera man and dog whisperer. When he panned around the car while it was being refueled, I was thinking he was riding on the floor, but you took care of him, and gave him his own seat. My 88 Dodge Aries is in pretty good condition, but after almost every ride, I like to look under the hood for leaks, etc. and also see if anything smells like trouble. If you could teach your dogs to sniff for leaks and report back to you, that would be good!

I love a classic with significant patina, (holes even), but is proper under the hood, etc. (Who paints a carburetor?) ...Not practical for me, but I think the only 'Vette I'd consider is one like this. Old enough not be trying to be Hugh Hefner/ Dirk Diggler- Knowing fully that it's a Coke bottle shaped 2 seat Blazer- Chevy 350 with disc brakes.... What a badass car.

Great videos Ben! I have a question for you....I just bought a 1972 Roadster LT-1 Targa Blue with Blue interior. This is my fifth Corvette and the third one I have restored / preserved myself. What brand of dye did you use on this car? I have used SEM with good results but the 72 Blue is a new one for me...The color looks like a pretty good match. Thanks!

I had a strange thing happen with my 70 vette after sitting in my garage for about a year. The master cylinder was dry so I filled it up with brake fluid and it was fine. The floor was dry, no fluid on the floor, where did the brake fluid go??? It doesn't seem to be leaking anywhere and the brakes are fine.

Where did you get that bright blue dash? I don't think that was a factory color. At least I don't remember ever seeing one. That wire you hooked up to the temp sensor looked like it was laying on the exhaust manifold or darn close enough that the heat might affect it. Glad to see that you got it running. I haven't seen any of your videos for a while but I like that black vette in the garage.
