We started writing Monument after playing around with a software that can stretch short bits of music into billions of years of sound. It made total sense to me that Max wanted to explore this floating feeling and mediation in the video...

Hey, I just want to say good job, and that the black and white structure reminded me of a book written by Dean Koontz, Brother Odd, where there is a monster that constantly changes shape, beautiful and scary at the same time, the monster turns out to be an expression of vanity, arrogance and insanity. good music, good voice and good video, thx for your excelent work over the years.

I was 34 when I had cardio myopathy. It means my heart is enlarged and the muscles on my left side of heart is damaged. I am now 52 and refuse to let this disease beat me. I'm not the same, I get tired easy and there are days I just stay in bed. Praying has helped me a lot. Stay young and live free.. life is short, enjoy it

I discovered this song after my Dad died, lost my house, my dog and my 5 year relationship. Moved onto my Dads property with 5 cats and a lot of determination. It’s been on repeat through a lot of deconstruction and rough times. This property will represent a moment of my life…

I'm dying of renal cell carcinoma. I'm currently on Opdivo, and it shows promise, but like the other chemos (votrient and afinitor) that I've been on, it too will stop being effective one day. I cried uncontrollably when I heard this song.This is a death song. An end of life song. I hope that it's playing in my head in my final moment. I want my two sons to know that they are my monument. you don't have to die of anything, please look up 3-bromopyruvate, salinomycin and Methylglyoxal.( just to name a few) learn how to treat your cancer metabolically,if you're running out time look up Dr. Jason Williams and contact him ASAP if you live in the US.

I was passing by the São Francisco river in Alagoas, Brazil. This song was playing in the car and I had an almost mystical experience. This song has been marked in my head ever since. I feel chills whenever I listen. Gratitude. From Fortaleza, Brazil.

Same. Listening through headphones. I was actually asleep and woke up to this playing. Then, dozed off again. Later when I woke up I was like what the hell was that song playing earlier. I was hooked to it. Thankful I was able to go back and find the song to see who and what it was.

I have my doubts... This song is wonderful, ethereal, transcendental... But tell me... How many songs does the group have in that same vibe? It doesn't even look like royksopp. I'll change my mind if you show me more songs in this environmental, ethereal, mystical, spiritual footprint... I lost my dad last year to brain cancer (glioma stage 4). This song makes wanna cry every moment, thinking what the hell was going on inside his had before his last breath. I wish I could comfort him of all the pain and the terror of the unknown.

OMG I felt that. The truth, I believe, is you could not have truly empathized with him on his trip to the unknown, because you'll only know it when you make it yourself. But if he felt your love before passing, you gave him all you could, and to him that would have been enough.Love was the only and best thing you could give, and you gave it. We know that the brain makes us feel happy when we are dieing, the "Heaven" feeling many that return have. While it seems very mean to say this, you shouldn't focus on the last days of his life, but the many years shared. The love doesn't go anywhere.

I feel for you but how lucky you are I lost my dad at the prime age of 2 weeks old not nice never met him but if you believe in jesus then the resurrection will fall in your lap may jehovah be with you sorry about your loss x

I am in absolute awe of this. The subtelty, depth, incantation-like quality... The creative and unexpected elements (her mouthing of words unheard, and the unexpected, smooth, dreamy saxophone)... What I love most is the feeling that it left so much unsaid.

I know when you first listen this song you don't feel that it's right (coz you haven't listened to something like this ever before) but then after one or two repeats, this is kinda crazy that this song goes deep into your soul subconsciously. You are stuck with this song forever and then you start to realize that what meaning it has. Beautiful depiction of life. No matter what are you doing whether sleeping or staying awake doing your job this monument 🏛 keeps playing in your head and soul. I know this is something I can't explain but this is happening to me ever since I discovered it. I want this song to be, "when I'm gone" song for me.

Robyn described this song as being "about death", "defining who you are" and "a physical sensation of an emotion," inspired by the Juliana Cerqueira Leite clay sculptures she saw at London's Saatchi Gallery. It's amazing what one can do with PLC synthesisers, Korgi Organs and Beat Box Electro Drum banks. All this gear was mothballed back in the late 80's. What goes around eventually comes around, age has excluded me from acceptance but I always love to hear artist's keeping the dream alive. Poetry, the rhythm of the body and sweet sounds are what it's all about. It's timeless. Cheers.
