If I remember correctly, Robin actually had it in his contracts. He was very passionate about the crisis. He always will be my most treasured member of society no matter what some may say about hi. It still pains my heart for the loss.

Not anymore... the biggest homeless cities are Democrat controlled cities which now completely ignore the homeless and give billions to support illegals they imported. We spent 58 billion a yr on these foreigners who refuse to work and who live off of our system.a system that should be helping our homeless citizens. Helping our veterans and children living on the streets. Liberals caused this. But they blame Republicans for being heartless. Where are the Democrats hearts now? They are importing people who will not add to our Society and only be a major drain by the millions per year!

Laura Kenney I feel the same way! I feel like I lost a good friend and even after years, I still cry from his passing. We went to the same High School and his 3 rd wife went there too, she was one year ahead of me in High School. I didn’t go at the same time, I was much younger. But, a few of my friends new him and said he was the kindest man. RIP Robin.

Laura Mandie I agree with both of you and feel the same way! I always felt like he put a lot of who he was in most of his characters, more so than any that I can think of, of course was Mork, curious, kind, funny, but his more recent was when of course he did Mrs. Doubtfire in how he potrayed losing his wife, his kids when he didn't want to at all and then in Patch Adams, the care, compassion, even the funny, I believe those two men, he and the person if his name isn't Patch that Robin portrayed, though they had different career paths, were more or less identical otherwise making sure that what they did in life had a positive effect and impact on people's lives, giving good laughter medications and doing as much as they could in their careers for people whether hurting or not the intent was to heal, always to heal!!! Even his Good Morning Vietnam...you could see his character in the character he portrayed in how he couldn't stand them not giving people the truth about what was happening and basically sat in this thing and told them they needed to be truthful about the issue and not hide it or sweep it under a rug and expect it to go away! Much of those who are homeless now was due to the loss of employers due to opening up businesses being able to go overseas for cheap labor and leave us with not much!!! Speaking to Congress about it looks like we need to get back up in there and point big ole fat blinking sign arrows at Maxine Waters for not living in her district and having so so so so many homeless people there!!!! Way to go Robin, Billy and Whoopi and others!!!! Way to go!!! R.I.P. Robin! We miss you, we love you and we'll never forget you and your kind heart and fun and loving personality!!!

Dr. H. E. Sawyer, Jr. Sir, I just don’t understand the alt-left’s sense of entitlement. Why are you so quick to want to penalize those who’ve taken control of their own destiny; who aren’t sitting on the sidelines with their hand out; who’ve chosen to take the hard road to get where they are or who have someone in their family’s past that has found success and passed it on to their future generations? I don’t understand “progressive” left’s fervor to destroy the system that has made our nation the absolute best in the world? The country where many of our neighbors to the south are willing to risk their and their family’s lives to enter into any way the can? If it’s so bad here for you, instead of trying to destroy this nation, why not just leave it and go to one of those bastions of paradise you’re all so high over? Go on, you’re free to go; we’re certainly not forcing to stay anyplace you don’t want to be. 🇺🇸

Vj Sharma in case you would like to know... I recently saw a story on Robin and they talked to his wife.. after his death they did an autopsy. first he was clean and sober (glad that rumor got squashed) but what they did find out is he not only had Parkinsons disease but also had "Lewy body dementia " from what I understand stand is it was slowly making him "insane" sadly. it's mentally debilitating, causes depression among other thing.. I grew up watching him , great, funny, witty, intelligent entertainer. he supported our troops, made many many trips over seas. a true humanitarian. very sad that someone who makes the world laugh into tears was secretly battling a very lonely disease 😕

@Rj Simas - Sorry for the loss of your dad. I wonder how long those proteins causing LBD were developing inside Robin's brain; according to his wife, Susan, the report indicated the lewy bodies were all over. They must have been developing over time as it is hard to imagine them manifesting themselves over a short period of time.

The Daily Conversation. The ONLY way to get through to the 'RICH' folk in Congress is by CUTING THEIR PAY CKS & PERKS in what we can say is an experiment where for at least 2 months half of Congress run the country & half HAVE to live on the streets WITH NO HELP/NO CHEAT, then the other half HAVE to do it!! THEN for at LEAST TEN years ALL of them HAVE to try to live on MIN. WAGES & put their big accounts/&savings where they can't get to them. (Where would they live on that salary?) Yeah.... the above is a dream world thing that will never come to pass, but I wish it could!! ...If the above COULD happen I'll bet Congress would give a you know what ! And homelessness would have a whole new meaning to them.

I was homeless and that's when we found that slot of the homeless are more giving than any other people that we have ever met. On the 2nd of June at my grandsons birthday party in the park a very nice man came up and ask for some food we gave him everything we were having including a piece of birthday cake. my grandson said thank you to the gentleman for coming to his party and made sure he had enough to eat. I just wish everybody was like that.I just wanted to let people know that homelessness is out there if my grandson's can help so can we all. thank you

My children have compassion for the homeless, and want to give whenever they can. They haven’t been taught to be vile and judgmental towards humanity yet, though they’ve both told me that they’ve been told that any money given to someone on the street will only be used for drugs and alcohol. Stop teaching your children to hate and judge others and we might have a chance...

Charles Fleury II Too true, too true, low and behold they actually adhere to the oath that they take to procure their seat in the house. I would guess that there are millions of pages of legislation that is absolutely unnecessary contained in some of these bills that make them unconstitutional and worthless to say the least. However, Americans have historically been an independent people, overtime this virtue was taken from the people of this country and given to those that are here illegally. You can retort with ‘but illegal aliens’ are people too all you want, but that ship of irrationally charged rhetoric has sailed. Half the country wanted the church separated from the state so this is what you get, a homeless plague! government is not meek, government cannot budget, government cannot fill the holes that Christ wanted done through works not taxes in the the form of redistributing a fraction of what could have been if it were not for the bottleneck called government. Whatever three letter acronym of an agency they‘d have to create simply to ‘find’ the solution would cost so much that there wouldn’t have been any money left to fund said solution. Besides, what government calls a ‘Solution’ has historically resembled a failed ‘Attempt’.

When you have more people then you do housing. The price of housing goes up. I mean it's simple supply and demand. And part of the reason. And I say part of the reason. There is more people then there are housing at least hear the US is because of the government unwillingness to fully enforce current immigration laws. You have more than 11 million illegal people living in the US. The more people that get deported for living here illegally. The more housing will open up. Then the housing market prices will go down because they will have a hard time filling them. So they'll charge less. So that more people will be able to afford housing. Also that will open up 11 million jobs. I mean you see where I'm going with this.

When I started serving mission to the homeless in downtown Phoenix in 2012, I was told never to take pictures or videos and, that recently Robyn Williams had been seen on the street, camped under a blanket all night on the streets, he was a regular supporter and ocaisionally would be seen at meals.

This man was a hero of mine in a way I did not understand growing up. He was a smiling face, an intelligent quip, a fiery soul at times who cared deeply about people and called out what he considered bs and in times when my family were at odds with one another or I didn't think much of myself...his work got me through a lot of that. Kick one back with Chris Reeve, another of my heroes and your bud. You earned it and are missed good sir.

Today is May 1st 2019, in 9days it will be 29 years since this aired. OH Mr. Williams when we lost you heaven definitely gained a 👼. We need to share this video and get our government to listen. Doesn't anyone care? We are blessed to have jobs again and better wages but housing prices are not attainable. The state where I live landlords have almost doubled the price of apartment rentals. Where I live is not a healthy environment,we have black mold on our windows but we can't afford anywhere else right now. Our apartment manager only tells us to clean it and they will paint over it, but then it comes back. It doesn't take care of the problem, but they know we can't move along with many other tenants. I experienced being homeless when I was younger and don't want to experience that again. So we just feel blessed to have a place to live...

Older video I know, but I had to comment. I am one of those statistics that are homeless. I work 2 jobs, 7 days a week, yet rent is so far out of reach there is no way possible even with a third job that I am able to afford a roof over my head. Don't get me wing, I'm in no way blaming anyone for my current situation, as I have a van, but when I look at rent, and see me with 2 jobs at 7 days a week and still can't afford rent, I feel something is drastically unbalanced and wrong with this. I am not the only one. People need to do now research, dig around and read and look around you, you will be amazed at what you finally see when you truly look at your surroundings and truly see what is going on around you. The biggest and saddest thing about this whole ordeal is people don't genuinely care. I hear all the time I'll pray for you, I'm sorry I wish I could help, etc... Yet really don't do a thing. How many of us has offered a garage, a shed, or anything else to a person in need. Those alone are a HUGE thing to a homeless person. More times than not if you actually sit and talk with a person regardless of being homeless or not, you find out that societies judgement and lable they have put on people are not that it actually is, ie: you can't judge a book by its cover. I have helped lots of people even being homeless, because I see what goes on around me. We can build huge big churches, fund a new airport, give trillions if not more money to other countries but we can't help our own state of affairs simply because someone thinks it doesn't exist, or wants to pretend it doesn't exist. I'm so for helping people, but if we can't fix our own situation, who are we to try and fix anyone else. Like a person without a child, telling a person with a child how to raise that child.

Diminishing economic freedoms and complete absence of sound money is responsible for misery in fact this is the formula we use by which to determine the misery index by taking the unemployment rate and rate of inflation both these two factors are created and exacerbated by government policy in favor of a few at the expense of the majority. Thus you have the source of misery thus you have the source of socioeconomic problems.

This was an excellent video and it makes me miss Robin even more. You could tell how passionate he was about the subject of homelessness. By his hair and beard I think it would be safe to say that he was definitely either in the process of filming "The Fisher King" or he'd just finished it. This is important though because Robin met with real life homeless people to research for his part of the homeless and mentally ill character Parry. The fact that he and Whoopi Goldberg and Billy Crystal had been doing Comic Relief was just downright amazing, even with Robin gone I still hope that Whoopi and Billy could meet for Comic Relief at least one more time in their future. Robin had joked about being dyslexic in his standup but I wonder if he really was. I'm badly dyslexic and the way that he read out loud but sometimes read certain words wrong (usually with a repeating sound) mirrors how I read. If he was dyslexic, that makes him 100 percent more awesome. Leave it to Robin to make Congress interesting, even if he was on his best behavior.

I'd read somewhere that while other actors may have a long list of demands while on set Robin had only one: He asked that in every film he works on, that the film crew employ a certain amount of homeless people. It doesn't matter if they're paid to sweep the floor, giving a homeless person a job can be just the stepping stone they need to get their life back on track. Having money to buy some new clothes leads to a job interview, which leads to something more permanent
