Blank Frost It’s literally always been that way. Talk all the smack you want about Europe, but it’s sports governing bodies are 100x better than the treacherous US sports bodies like the NFL and MLB. In Europe MAJOR sports clubs are handed heavy punishments routinely depending on the crime. In the US it’s literally always a slap on the wrist. A real punishment would be something where the fans feel it as well, and therefore then direct their heat towards the management. So in this case it would have been either stripping the title from Houston, or banning the Astros from post season for 1 or 2 seasons. Disgraceful and weak. Cheating pays off in USA I guess. That’s the lesson our kids will learn.
@seanswinton62424 жыл бұрын
Jon J I feel that if the Houston Astros get to keep their trophy and rings by stealing signs as a team, then Pete Rose should be given his place in the Hall Of Fame. He didn't cheat on the field to win and be successful. He played hard and relentlessly to win!

Bench was a great catcher and team leader. IMHO, the best catcher ever. He was great with pitchers... You couldn't run on him. His presence alone would shut down the run game... If you did run? Had a cannon that would gun you down from the squat position... Hit for average and power... Then he got sawed open when he had lung surgery. Never the same after that, but still was the best in the game. Scary how much better he would have been. Mondo respect for Bench.

If someone is on second base and is so-called "stealing" sings, that's technically nothing more than observing the signs the catcher is throwing down. It's like when we say someone "crushed" the ball when technically he only hit the ball extremely hard. He didn't actually "crush" a baseball. Just like a guy on second doesn't actually "steal" the sign. Now, if you're in a casino playing blackjack and you observe the dealer consistently showing you his hand, would you not use that to your advantage? Of course, you would. And that wouldn't be considered cheating because you're not breaking any rules, you're simply observing the hand the dealer is showing you. But if you were to use a camera or electronic device in order to win? Well, we all know that the casino would not give the cheating poker player a pass. That cheater would get banned from that casino and possibly thrown in jail. And that same penalty should go for any of the astros players who participated in this cheating scandal. Period.
