Күн бұрынAt first it appeared that 2003 couldn’t get any worse than 2002, however some of Michael’s misguided decisions from the previous year came back to bite. One being to trust British journalist, Martin Bashir, and take part in the documentary, ‘Living With Michael Jackson’.
The rather bizarre and disturbing film caused widespread controversy, blew wide open previous allegations as well as fed into concerns the public had with Michael’s continued inappropriate behaviour towards children.
The backlash caused Jackson to release his own self produced rebuttal, and although the global superstar wished to move on from the lingering scandal, Michael would ultimately be arrested and formally charged under the suspicion of child molestation. Marking only the beginning of the King Of Pop’s worst nightmare.

I think that Living With Michael Jackson documentary was the beginning of the end for Michael. Since the second round of child abuse allegations arose from that and I believe the stress and the problems that came from all that ultimately lead to his death.

Through this heartbreaking year of footages-- the glimmers of light had to be the unwavering support of his fans. I am in tears seeing the heart and passion they have for Michael during this difficult time. They are the ones who carried him through 2009.

I wish that someone in MJ's corner had convinced him not to go through with the documentary. That added a lot of unnecessary stress in his life; not to mention that he was never truly happy again after the trial that followed suit.😢 Great video from the detail. Long live the king of pop.🎉

The documentary is been criticized for being manipulated to pain MJ in a very negative way and caused a media backlash against Jackson. The "Leaving Neverland" documentary was released in January 2019, and was directed by a British journalist. The documentary has also been criticized for being manipulated to pain MJ in a negative way, and caused a media backlash against Jackson, very similar to the one in 2003. In 2005, many fans showed support by gathering outside the coutroom with sign of "Michael is Innocent" and "Fact don't lie, People do", same thing happened in 2019 when fans around the world protested with the similar signs. It seems like history may be repeating itself. After MJ passed away, people started seeing him in a more positive way, and everyone just left all the controversies behind, and focused more on his music and his legacy. MJ passed away six years after the 2003 documentary, and this new biopic "Michael" might be released in 2025, six years after 2019 documentary. I really hope this biopic achieves what he want it to achieve and hopefully brings back a more positive way to look and Michael and everything that happened him. I think the biggest issue a lot of people have MJ is that his behaviour and overall personality seems very strange on the surface, but those people really dont takes the time to really understand him, but immediately pass judgement and think of the worst about him. I agree with MJ when he said that when you grow up in the world and the way he did "you are automatically different". He was right. Not everybody grows up the way he did, which is why so many people found him so strange. Though I think the way he grew up, followed by how isolated he was as an adult, definitely affected his social skills, which is why he appeared and behaved so differently. Michael Jackson undoubtedly had very extraordinary career and legacy, but also very tragic life, and while today it's clear that everybody respects his accomplishments and impact, the world is still divided on how to feel about him as a person, as for some it's unclear who he was, but because of the controversies and the media backlash he faced, the perception of many regarding MJ as a person, is often not-so positive. I really hope that one day they'll be a positive way to look at Michael Jackson and gain a better understanding on all the controversies.

Check this out. 1983 = Michael Jackson's Thriller becomes best-selling album in world history breaking every barrier. 1993 = The 1st Witchhunt with Child Sexual Abuse Allegations begins. 2003 = The 2nd Witchhunt with Child Sexual Abuse Allegations begins. 2013 = The 3rd Child Sexual Abuse Allegations starting from one-time defender Wade Robson. 2019's Leaving Neverland is merely the long outcome of what started in 2013. If you look at Michael's adult 10 year cycles with every year ending in 9, you'll see another connected pattern. 1989 = Michael Jackson ends the 2 year long record-breaking Bad Tour & solidifies himself as Ruler of the 1980s. 1999 -= Michael Jackson falls 50 feet to the ground at MJ & Friends concert when staging "collapses". 2009 = Michael Jackson is murdered by hitman/"doctor" Conrad Murray before This Is It concerts begin. 2019 = Leaving Neverland campaign commences to erase Michael's legacy. But we beat back all of these campaigns against him. We just couldn't be there in his house when Murray murdered him. But make no mistake Michael had enemies in the world...in high places. It is our job to put all of this into context & make it th footnote to Michael's story so that he is remembered as the great person & role model he should be remembered as. The Conspirators try very hard but the multi-billion member fanbase, the Moonwalkers, will always overcome.

Gavin Arvizo like Jordan Chandler was fascinated by the life that MJ leads! He would have wanted to get all this without working! Here the problem is that the Arvizo case was orchestrated by the scoundrel Sneddon and unfortunately he died without being criminally liable. After the trial, MJ no longer had the power to sue anyone, as much as this case affected him. He was humiliated and slandered by the press!

I sometimes wonder how Michael would be perceived now if he had not died in 2009. I imagine that he would probably still be living abroad and officially retired from the music industry, probably would still be targeted by the media but not on the level that he was in the 90s-early 2000s. Maybe he could have had a pretty normal life for once.

I dont think much would have changed compared to the last years of his life. Assuming he didnt do this is it and survived I dont think he would have ever made a comeback, just lived quietly with his family. Maybe recording the odd song or two. His reputation would have never recovered in any way.

He would have had access to his own social media and be able to clear things up one on one. The media wouldn’t be able to lie and twist the situation as much and they would have immediate consequences because his fans would also have access to him and them. Most of the issues that came was because there was no accountability for bad people,accusers,and media. Michael, his real friends, and family, combined with his fans would actually have a voice to combat the situation because the evidence is on his side.

The "Leaving Neverland" terrible film would never have been made if Michael Jackson had lived because of libel laws the film was all lies. I'm not sure Michael Jackson would like "Social Media" as it is today. I can't see him being on Twitter or Instagram or whatever. He might have had a secret Facebook account not totally sure. I hope he could live his life in peace with his children. I never understood all the lies saying he was in debt. I wish he could have properly left Sony Music and gone independent. The press the media never left him alone.

He was aquitted and vindicated of all 14 counts in his 2005 trial with child and adult witnesses close to mj adamant during testimony they never witnessed anything inappropriate. Also, micheal’s prosecutor Tom Sneddon’s biased hatred towards mj during investigation which is unfair and corrupt in itself. Wade robson’s allegations have been proven a lie and its also been proven Evan chandler’s and the Arvizo family’s motives were to extort mj for money. Oh and lets not forget the 25 proven lies told in the leaving neverland documentary. I think thats certain enough, I needn’t say more.

I think there are multiple pin points during his life time to where Michael's fate in 2009 was sealed. Some may say it was 1984 with the pepsi incident, some may say it's 1993 with the first set of allegations but I really believe the heaviest hitting point was right here in 2003 along with the trial that drained the life out of the man. He truly didn't deseve any of what happened to him.

Yes I agree with you, and after his invincible Album, he had issues with Sony as well, it should have been a big hit and he should have made heaps of money from that Album, as MJ said Sony made several billions. Tony Mottola was a devil, dealing with Sony and the alleged court cases and the addiction to pain medication started ruining and killing him slowly, he tried to be strong and brave, his kind and fragile soul didn’t deserve this at all, and people he thought were friends betrayed him like Oprah the snake and Bashir, his face also changed too much that it didn’t look good and he wanted to hide behind his hair and sunglasses. He didn’t look healthy. He has the most beautiful heart ❤ dearly missed. The GOAT.

The 2000s were a terrifying time for MJ, (I'm not talking about the music - we all know he continued to record great songs throughout the decade). but the tabloids made him look crazy to sell a few more papers or a higher TV rating. The 2000s should have been another great decade for MJ, but those years were just horrible for him. Invincible not being promoted properly, Bashir manipulating his way into a one sided documentary, and then these new set of false allegations. Watching MJ be arrested was heartbreaking. I could only imagine what was going through his mind. Terrible time for the King.

As a fan since the 80s, 2003 was like a weird rerun of 1993. I couldn't believe he was being charged with molestation again. I felt so bad for him, knowing he was in the fight of his life. This on the heels of Sony in 2002 ditching the promotion of Invincible, which was also heart breaking. Us fans had been looking forward to Invincible for years and it was sabotaged. The last 10 years of his life was sadly one setback after another, with the exception of the birth of Blanket.

+crazy4corbinbleux Madonna's a real one. I used to side-eye her back in the day but I had to reevaluate after time. She's not a fairweather person. Blunt & raw maybe but at least real. She has earned my respect especially since that 2009 speech at the MTV Awards. I like that she upholds his memory properly in death. I wish he tried to connect with her more instead of pushing her away. Maybe he would still be here on Earth.

I have to say 06, 07, and 08 were probably the only years in the last decade of his life where he wasn't feeling intense pressure from something. God, when this was happening in real time 20 years ago, I was in high school and completely apathetic to what was going on since I wasn't a fan back then. I would see one of those headlines accompanied by an unflattering picture of him and think that he had probably lost his mind. No one really questioned or fact-checked the media back then. It wasn't until many years after his death that I got curious about exactly what had happened with him during this period. After learning all the facts and the absolute horror this innocent man was put through, I feel terrible and devastated. He was literally too pure for this world, and he was such a strong person to not give up after everything the early 2000s did to him. Humans are so cruel.

that's cos the media just completely dehumanized him by this time. They did not give an ounce of respect. EVERY SINGLE headline with Michael would have the word "bizarre" in it. They would show Michael doing something perfectly normal and then call it bizarre and weird. Sometimes I blame Michael a little for his problems but mostly I don't because what he had to endure was inhuman.

Martin Bashir was the single handed individual that started the snowball chain of events that took place. He went into the interview with the intent of Malice and to paint a picture of Michael that was NOT true. U can even hear how snide and condescending his questions, and the tone in which he asked them to MJ were. Heartbreaking reliving this-as i can recall seein it all in real time as it occured. I was just months away from graduating High School and was soooo taken back by this interview and all the BS that followed thereafter!

Michael is the captain of a spacecraft in a live action sequence. Sonic 3 soundtrack, Space Channel and the Moonwalker port for the Sega Genesis; there's a lot of interesting info for that matter. :D

Very tough year for Michael which I for sure remember, I do think at that point he realized who was for him and who wasn't and he began to lose trust in many people whom he thought were his "friends" but turned out be the opposite that just ended up taking advantage of him because he was kind and open to share his stories and his life even with people that he didn't really knew and with that he always came with good intentions but people took that for granted and twisted his words and made another narrative of that which is far from the reality of what Michael was about. Michael was Christ-like and he sometimes would mention in some interviews that he wanted to be like Jesus in the way of how he treated people whether it be children, adults, animals and humanity in general - (love, care, empathy and compassion), Michael was a man of God and he walked the path that he was about which many do not understand and probably never will understand.

Even when it cost him the most. Tom Mesereau knew that his enemies would not stop & advised to leave Neverland for his own family's sake. But Michael never sold the property. Somehow someway he would restart the mission. Even if he had to do it from afar to protect himself. The man had a calling & like Jesus he was crucified. I think he saw his crucifixion as part of Jesus's walk.

This is when they went in hard. I remember it like it was yesterday. I was and still am a fan. I was 13 years old at this time, but when the internet was becoming a “thing” I watched documentaries on Michael after the trashy documentary by Martin Bashir. Then I watched “The Footage you were never meant to see” hosted by Maury Povich. Good thing Michael has his own cameras - because it shows how manipulative Bashir is. Then I did my own research on him, he didn’t do it

Michael was almost done with his contract with Sony & Number Ones was one of the last two releases he had to honor before he became the world's largest free agent. Tommy Mottola was ousted from Sony meaning Michael won the Sony Fight. So no wonder the allegations suddenly hit right after Number Ones came out. Michael told the late Ed Bradley on 60 Minutes about "The Conspiracy". Number Ones was #1 all over the world...except the USA, the land from which he came. Sony & whoever else was Michael's enemy got him back for daring to be that free agent no longer under their grip. In the coming years, I and every MJ fan learn more & more about how deep this conspiracy goes. Michael's murder in 2009 after overcoming the final Witchhunt of 2003 is only one piece of this giant puzzle.

Michael literally MADE her. It was HIS interview in the 90's that catapulted her to ultimately make her "Oprah". Before that, she was simply a talk show host. To not further investigate claims about someone of the same ethnicity, who made you who you are with the ratings that interview did, and to have the audacity to be critical is downright callous. There's the boy now full grown man with the kids he had with Mary Kay & it's just a friendly little interview of the family. This would NEVER play out this way if the sexes were reversed. That documentary got seen all over the world and in a way it was the beginning of the end. I always felt Michael got too close to some of these kids for his own good but my god Bashir did him dirty in the editing of that programme. He made Michael believe he understood him then used all the good things he pretended to say & think about him and turned the narrative on its head.
