Hubz and I saw this on TikTok and tried this last night with a pot roast. They were great. We had a lot left over so we made “hash browns” and they were even better this morning. I’m stuffed. Tysm.

I'm a lil confused. You said you flip them, but when you showed us at the end, they weren't flipped. Do we flip them? Either way, they look amazing.

Guessing when she said flip, she meant rotating the tray in the oven to cook evenly. I know mines hotter at the back, since thats where the flame is.

These look delicious but your pan out of the oven doesn't look like you flipped them at 15 minutes. Did you you just bake them cut side down the entire time?

Probably. I've been making potatoes in the oven for many years and I never once flipped them. It's not necessary, ovens have heat generating from all directions.

I recently discovered potatoes roasted in duck fat, how could you use duck fat in this recipe? Since the oil is in liquid state when you toss the potatoes in it, the duck fat is more like soft butter texture, I know I could use the melted duck fat instead of the butter, but I do think roasting the potatoes in the duck fat itself gives SOOOO much extra nice flavours and textures…

You really need to revise the video because you took them out of the oven without flipping them half way through! For experienced cooks we know better, but for a novice cook this could be very confusing & perhaps end up with burnt potatoes.
