That Kuroda (Q) vs JWong (Chun) never gets old. There's nothing fancy mechanical wise, but boy, you can clearly see Kuroda getting into Justin head and winning the game without pressing any buttons. JWong is a great player, but in 3S times he was just going easy cheese road with Chun. Still, he was smart enough to notice how out of his depth he was facing Kuroda :)

He plays her cuz she's cheap but I don't think discrediting his play entirely as just trying to cheese is accurate. He just wasn't crazy good at 3s, that's about it. For his time maybe he was pretty darn good but he wasn't a 5star, Yuuki, or Pyrolee of that time in the US

Hello! It's three months since my last upload, I'm sorry. My life is a mess and I'm not in the mood to edit videos. But the channel isn't dead! June and July is Winter Vacations (here in Brazil) and will have the World Cup (by the way, I hate that) as consequences i'm going to have some free time. I'll focus on Guilty Gear this year, since most of the best 3rdS players already have a video, but this doesn't mean I'm not gonna do 3rdS videos anymore. So, sorry for any spell mistake, Thank you for subscribing and understand me! Hugs.

I think 3rd strike is one of the hardest fighting games ever made. The parry system adds so much to the gameplay and it feels fair how your risking damage verse the reward on a good guess. The only bad thing is it removes the zoning game completely
@gregorypecker6843
@gregorypecker6843 9 жыл бұрын
It's definitely not the hardest and it does more than remove the zoning game. Imagine a fighter is like a chess board. When you successfully land a move or get hit by a move, it's like moving a piece on the board. It opens up many new possibilities for strategy in chess and mind games in fighters. Parrying is like knocking the opponents piece back into it's previous spot allows you to gain an instant advantage on the board. Basically it negates deeper mind games beyond reading your opponent or baiting him. That's the main argument as to why Third Strike is bad. I still love it.
@MGSBigBoss77
@MGSBigBoss77 9 жыл бұрын
Joe Franlin Agreed! but in many ways we all know Capcom never really meant for the 'Parry system' to truly block out everything via parrying ('Blocking' in Japan)! the parry in 3rd Strike became utterly ridiculous in tapping out everything and was probably only meant to beat out several normal attacks and a minor "Super" every now and then etc. But by the time gameplayers adopted the system as it is, it was way too late to change anything. *The only bad thing is it removes the zoning game completely* ^And its learning curve was so hard for causals and newbie players, Capcom waited around for 10 years before making a new SF game in SF4. which was as we all know kinda scrubby in the end in comparison to far superior SF games like; 3rd Strike or ST etc.

@SFhelper

He seems to know how to react to every situation which is one of the hardest traits to obtain (imo) as a player. comes with a lot of practice and good reactions. His grasp of the spacing is also incredible, he whiff punishes almost everything and gets a lot of counter hits. From his play he seems like he has psyonic powers, just reads everyone like a book. All in all, he is undeniably the best player in third strike by far.
@Raphael-jo1rp

He is the best player because he truly knows the mechanics of the game, and has a huge knowledge of the characters.

There's about a hundred attributes to improve: dexterity, execution, timing, whiff punishes, matchup knowledge, gameplan scenarios, parries, defense, reactions, fishing, spacing, throw techs, control of distance, encorporating everything together, ambiguous setups, mechanics, option selects, etc etc. Kuroda understands all these incredibly strong. People spectating as fans don't grasp 1% of how deep everything he does is. He's like the Fedor of SF3. Also he doesn't take much risks. He doesn't attack you on wake up which is how ppl scrub out guess parry wins. He forces you to play him based on as much on skill as possible.
@MGSBigBoss77
@MGSBigBoss77 9 жыл бұрын
dkblade27 This is true what your saying. However since the object is to defeat and beat your opponent in any fighting game. Kuroda is also smart enough to beat you based on abusing any and all flaws in a 2D based sprite game. there's no such thing as being cheap, thus he'll fight you hard and abuse any and all weaknesses games have. forcing you to either parry high and low while he uses an Oro; 'energy ball' is smart game playing for example and not anything to do with testing your abilities vs his. Kuroda in the elite leagues of 3rd Strike with very few rivals. but you can bet your ass he has rivals though good as he is even, he's not alone in what you just described as being a great 3rd Strike player though. He definitely has those skills, but so do players like; Justin Wong, Ryan Hart, Diago, Nki, Tokido, PikachuAkuma, Rikimaru, Mimora, RX and so many others etc!
@Raphael-jo1rp
@Raphael-jo1rp 9 жыл бұрын
MGSBigBoss77 Kuroda has absolutely no rival, and this is the case since almost a decade. Few achieve to be close to that performance : MOV, Boss and KO or Ino, that's pretty much it. All the others just can play 1, 2 or 3 characters at best : Mimora, RX, Rikimaru, Nuki, Deshiken, Kokujin, Yakkun etc... Mentioning Wong, Hart, etc just show that you are far to be a specialist of the sf3 scene, or not as deep as others, and that your knowledge of Kuroda skill isn't really accurate. No foreigners comes close to the japanese level, and not a single japanese comes close to Kuroda's in general. Make the count...it's not a small gap, it's a whole peninsula ! Of course he's not invincible, no one is, but as far as a game can goes, he's the true master of this one, without any doubt and he is considered the real specialist of Third, from Nuki, MOV and Rikimaru themselves. Beside, not only because of the financial issues he had and still has, and a weak health, but also because he get bored of the lack of competition and resistance he faced off are all the reasons why he truely stops and why his legend will remains !

That's pretty much 100% false. Not only is Kuroda better than RX but he even has a better Urien, the best Urien. RX plays very aggressively and is good at reads but Kuroda constantly outplays the best of the best players. He even reduses to use Chun. His style is not as flashy as RX's but his understanding of the game is unmatched by anyone in the world.

I don't think Kuroda played Urien better than RX, no one in the world ever did. RX completely mastered Urien to a point he achieved Urien's maximum potential, Kuroda mastered the fundamentals and the understanding of 3rd strike, coupled with how extremely good he was at reading his opponents and being unpredictable that's why he could play any character at extremely high skill and efficiency. RX mastered Urien, Kuroda mastered 3rd strike, that's why, despite not being at the same level with Urien, he was still the better player.
