Ginger was very miffed at the lack of credit he got for his contribution to the realisation of this song - slowing the riff down and elevating it from a throwaway lick to classic status. I didn’t realise how good he was until watching “Beware of Mr Baker”.

+JR in the 818 Bruce was one of the GREAT vocalists of the period no doubt. I was just a kid at the time, but damn Cream was the heaviest band I had ever heard up to that point, still love them almost 5 decades later.

+James Scarcelli his voice is so operatic, it's so unique (and goddamn kickass) to use it in a blues band. I absolute love it -- vocally he's probably my biggest influence

As the announcer said, their motto is to just pick up and fucking play. That's why cream is in my opinion regarded as one of the best bands to ever hit the fucking scene. Because of their just fucking play attitude, just improvise, make it your own. I admire that. There was an interview on Eric Clapton and he said, Ginger and Jack were Jazz guys, ya know? Eric was a straight up blues guy. He said while playing and improvising he had no idea what the fuck he was playing or even doing, and when he finally listen to the recordings of concerts, he was surprised they sound as good as they did because he had no idea what he was doing and was trying to keep up with two guys who were so locked in with eachother. They're better musicianship wise because of their just fucking play attitude, which i feel, is the ultimate kind of style you can get with a band.

One of my favorites. However, I’m partial to the version he played at the Oakland Coliseum in California in 1968. In my opinion that was his best solo of any recorded version of Sunshine.

Every concert tour was done w/ out abandon, heart, soul, blood, sweat, and tears, we had an amazing time, if you think u enjoyed listening to the show, you have no idea, how much we truly enjoyed being w/ the other band members and producing it, the long hours, the drama, is all part of making this music, what it is today

@@christinewilkinson2424 Unfortunately I know all too well. You can see it in some live performances of Zeppelin, too, when Jimmy was using a lot. Sometimes people are just in the zone, because, strangely enough, the expression can be similar (SRV's "in the zone" face during a solo is almost exactly like someone who's nodding/gowching out, although he was never on the stuff himself) but there are wee subtle differences you can see, with the right pair of eyes. It didn't stop him, or Bonham, from being an amazing drummer. I think he said it made him better, actually, in the Beware of Mr Baker documentary (if you've not seen it, you should definitely check it out on youtube) - though I could be misremembering. RIP to Ginger and Jack. Jack was a local here, and returned to the area a few years before his death. I wish I had popped into his local and bought him a pint.
