Stevie Gerrard carried Liverpool for many years, kept us on the map, kept us afloat at a certain status. That is worth 1000x more to fans than winning the league and is a much greater achievement. Very few player’s have achieved what he did for a club - worth the sacrifice if it meant missing out on the title.

@@KitMcIntoshSJ Not at all, im an Arsenal fan but have always loved seeing Gerrard play. Will always remember him as a top top class player, able to change a game and carry the team by himself in midfield. Winning a title wouldn't have made any difference to the people who really watched him play, fan or not.

Gerrard and rangers are the perfect match at the perfect time. A lot of my friends were unsure when he took the job. I just knew it would go well. I hope he wins a couple of league titles and have a magical moment in Europe. The best midfielder to walk the face of the earth. I believe he will be a world class manager 10 years from now. All the best rangers fans !

This not Celtic tv, the questions mean something and illicit a proper response. Gerrard speaks with authority and an openness which is enlightening. He does not shy away from the awkward questions, he says what he thinks and that can only be defined as honesty. Like I said, this is NOT Celtic tv, its a true reflection of not only Gerrard the player/manager but Gerrard the person. Guys a star!!!!!

Newcastle fan here. Gerrard is the best English midfielder I have ever seen. Unbelievable Player. I think he is the greatest player in the history of Liverpool.

I am neither a rangers fan or a Liverpool fan but Stevie G and his team are turning Rangers round. He is a born winner and I do hope he wins an English premier league as a manager. He is a true legend who wears his heart on his sleeve.

It’s crazy how self aware Steven Gerrard is, it’s so often that when someone gets fame or power it is inevitable that it will to some extent get to their head, not this man, long may it continue.

His acknowledgement of his own shortcomings is to his eternal credit. All the top Euro coaches felt SG lacked the discipline required to run games consistently at elite level. Xavi, Iniesta, Pirlo, Boban, Albertini, Rijkaard - not a patch on SG talent-wise. But they knew how to maintain position and follow instructions. SG was more intuitive and emotion took over too often. But very few midfielders were able to turn a match like SG could. And he is VERY impressive putting his ethos across. The way he's embraced Rangers and what the club means to so many shows his intelligence and why he'll get bigger opportunities (relatively). It's true that Scotland is a 2-horse race. But if SG had failed he would have been finished. Lampard isn't finished after Chelsea - even though he was sacked. He'll get another crack at a PL club. SG would have had no chance if he'd bombed at RFC. It's easy to scoff at the pressure in Scotland. But Rangers (and Celtic) are only surpassed by Man U and LFC in UK football pressure-wise.

We wont be calling for a very long time Kev. Pep will take over from JK just as Paisley took over from Shankly because the system was set and it needed someone in house to continue it. As much as Stevie has LFC blood, passion wont make you the greatest manager. He is learning at Rangers, doing worldies as a coach, but it will be quite a few years of great experiences before he takes over the reds.

love the angle on this podcast. during podcasts, i typically switch off when I don't here professionals speak about high performance or what their understanding/experiences are relating to it. Stevie is the ultimate professional, you can just see he's got that obsession it takes to excel. great questions also.

What I love about the gaffer is that he comes across so well in front of a camera but you know on the training ground he takes no prisoners. The story of getting Luis Suarez to give morelos a pep talk is typical of the gaffer

If you are cutting the podcast up for more views and recgonition, then that isnt wise. KZfaq favours watch time and retention, more likely to show up on the algorythm if its longer and people watch it all the way through. Just a friendly tip :) Love the podcast btw! Great work! You should make a second channel called The high performance podcast Clips with golden nuggets of information from the people you interview, like Joe Rogan does, then link the full podcast in the description!

Who? He just has to look at his career and what he won during it and am sure he is fine. I cannot wait to see his wee face when he lifts the league title this year. Stevie G is one of the best players the British Isles has ever produced and will go on to be one of the best managers. A true legend of the game.
