CLIMBING TO THE TOP OF THE 3RD HIGHEST MOUNTAIN IN ENGLAND! HELVELLYN | VAN LIFE - LAKE DISTRICT UK

Today was our last day in the Lake District before we move up north into Scotland. We climbed to the top of the 3rd highest mountain in England - Helvellyn! With some of the most incredible views anyone will ever see! Not to mention Dad nearly falls off the mountain too (on camera!!). Tomorrow night we will be back to normal schedule just 1 day behind and we will be in Scotland! See you all there!
We are the Ingham Family - currently on our way from our home in West Yorkshire, up through the Lake District and into Scotland to drive the North Coast 500 in our 6 berth mini house on wheels!

Just some friendly advice, you did not complete the mountain: you must walk across the striding edge and then a little bit more after before descending on the other side of the mountain.

Just to let you know, from someone who lives 15 mins from hellvellyn you didn’t complete the mountain the summit is much larger and has a large stone on top with better views

The mountain is pronounced hell vell in. The other place you were thinking of is Striding Edge. I think you should have tried The Old Man of Coniston first. It is my favourite mountain. Sadly due to a progressive disability I am now in a wheelchair so can’t do what I used to but you HAVE to to do the Old Man. Coniston is a beautiful village too.

Guys my family are big fans and they tune in every night. We want to do the NC500 ourselves and we are excited to see your adventures. How ever and this is not a troll and more a genuine concern. If you are going to tackle assents like that please invest in some walking boots and better clothing. The weather can turn so quickly, and you can get your selfs in trouble and be exposed so fast. I was cringing 😬 watching you do that in trainers 👟 especially with Chris having Jace on his back, one slip and a bad fall I’d hate to think. That’s why the sign said experienced and well equipped walkers only 🤦🏻‍♂️

You guys should think about purchasing walking boots for all the hill walking you do, whilst you may be comfy in trainers walking on those surfaces without the corrected footware can be reallu damaging to your feet and ankles. You dont need to spend a lot of money on them you can get super affordable ones in mountain warehouse, theres a big one in Keswick i think you are are close to there

me and my husband climb up helvellyn. it took us 7hrs and 11mins as we went all across Striding edge and squirrels edge etc. it was amazing we loved every minute of it

Wow beautiful area you were in. Sara I give you huge props for walking up that mountain with a one-year-old on your back. You go girl, for real.I remember you saying that you had spent a little extra money on the baby backpack. I’m loving the vlogs! We go to the Lake District on holiday every year and climb hellvelyn! Striding edge is probably 20 mins from where you are (that’s called the hole in the wall) and then it takes probably about an hour to get over striding edge. Then there’s the chimney which takes you up to the summit! We love it my family! xxx

I’m not sure wether you’re all still in the Lakes. But if you are then there are a few things that you should do. One being Dodd Wood you can see some beautiful views and the other is whinLatter and it is beautiful up there and there are so many things you can do there.... enjoy your holiday!
