Thank you for this. Just wondering is it possible to just dissolve retinyl palmitate in oil and use it as a face oil? Cheers!

Yes you can, but use an oil compatible polymer or similar to hold it homogenous in the formula so that each dose is within the regulatory limits (rather than it settling out). The regulations on this material are quite strict so ensure you hold it homogenous throughout the formula to ensure safety and performance. Happy formulating!

Its promising - there are loads of in vitro studies and data but I'd like to see more in vivo data - but definitely promising. It has compatibility and formulation considerations and less side effects than vitamin A as well as being 'innovative' and different to just another vitamin A serum. Ask your supplier for in vivo efficacy data to support your claims. Happy formulating!

I've tried bakuchiol isolate 99% and the results are very very encouraging brightens gives a glow absolutely non irritating

Hello, I have seen some famous body scrubs (tree hut, dr teal's, truly beauty, etc), all listing retinyl palmitate in their inci ingredient lists which is really troubling for me as they all use clear non-opaque packaging, not to mention that body scrubs are used during the day and are wash-off products in contact with hot water, and vitamin A cannot survive under UV light nor heat. Is it just a marketing scam or do they use it encapsulated ? And if so, is encapsulation or liposomes effective in wash-off products ? I have to ask you the same question about vitamin C, because these scrubs also use ascorbic acid, sometimes in the same formulation as retinyl palmitate, and it makes me even more confused as it's the most unstable thing ever.

I doubt they would use encapsulated, and it doesn't have wash off data. Please contact the company and ask them these questions, as neither ingredient has wash off data to support efficacy. They are likely using very tiny amounts just for marketing claims, to say their product contains those ingredients, on the label. Does all of this apply to tretinoin aswell including the ph?

A bit ridiculous to leave out the one ingredient that emulsified this formula and turned it into a cream. Then tell you to contact them elsewhere. Unbelievable!
