Josue Mpunga I got one client using yelp and another from a Facebook group. I have a magnet for my truck and some yard signs. What I have had most call backs from is putting my business cards inside mailboxes..handwrote notes on the back of each one. I know it’s illegal but who’s taking me to jail 🤷🏼♀️ no one so far!

Keith wow man it seems like I'm committing alot but your so real ..My trailer is a 4×8 ,I drive a 2005 nissan Xterra with 210,000 miles and like I stated before my lawnmower and weed eater is on their last leg .Yes I even painted the trailer with spray paint .Seeing the other guys look at my trailer and lol doesn't even bother me because like you I'm a humbled man ;and in time God will bless me with something better .

v bee I. already do a lot of landscaping. but i also want to start mowing yard's. people around were i live are willing to pay 50$. just for mowing their lawns so im getting a lawn mower through horse tradeing once i make enough money I'm going to buy a weed eater and we'll I already found a pickup truck on letgo for 700$ all it needs is the engine rebilt. I know i can do this.

I started a remodeling company way back when with my brother, we had peanuts for cash, so we picked up a $300 piece of crap Cargo Van if CL. That van made us tons of cash, but was full of problems. So yes, Keith is sharing his past experiences with us to show that you can start with not much $, but with an immense amount perseverance and action will get you through the most difficult times in your business. Keep at it and don’t give up.

That could not be said any better. Ive started out a year ago with a mountain of debt and my dads old rusted equipment and a broom out of the back of my suv. Now I have 15 really good accounts, a ute, trailer, 2 mowers, 2 whipper snippers, a blower vac and pressure cleaner all bought with the cash I earnt from mowing. Im nearly debt free, got out of credit cards debt and old personal loans and on got $3000 left on my car. It can be done, its just hard work and dedication. Thanks for videos of wisdom from Keith Kalfas and Greg Chism.

When I started watching your videos bro I wasn't so sure. So I took what money I had and got a cheap Chinese mower and got a weed eater from a pawn shop and now I have a riding mower that I bought from a friend and I now cut 2 apartment complex and a dollar general store and a few houses when needed. Good money.. let me throw this out there. I'm only 19 lol. Best decision I have ever made!

Hey Keith I'm broke no job and I am starting a landscape business. The power of borrowing things or working side jobs to gain second hand equipment is awesome. I was able to acquire a Stihle hedge trimmer, and a Ryobe string trimmer by doing side work. I have a push mower that I am borrowing right now. I have my own Explorer that I put all of my equipement in,lol. Like I said I don't have a full time job, I have my own apartment , bills, and a ton of stress. But I am doing this. cause I have to do it, I want to do it. I am so tired of working for a small pay check, that is gone before the end of the week without being able to pay all of my bills, let alone buy food. I get what your saying cause I am seriously living it. Everything your saying is the truth. thank you so much your videos are inspirational to me.

when I started mowing, I was working full time in a cheese factory and found a Honda mower for sale and paid $30. The deck was so rusty I had to duck tape coffee can over the hole. After acouple lawns the duck tape was coming loose and blowing grass on me. I paid $1500 for a 84 dodge rust bucket. Ive got nice stuff now by doing what you talk about, It can be done.

Your video is inspirational and helpful. I'm in my beginning stages. I have 11 accounts and some crappy "Craig equipment", but I'm busting my ass and I never do a half ass job. My customers are bringing in more customers. I cut in the morning and work my 40 hr job in the afternoon. One day I will cut those ties and head out on my own. It's all a matter of "when". Thanks for the words of wisdom.

My 4yr old son wants to mow the lawn every day with his toy Husqvarna push mower even after We mow'd the night before he asks if we can do it again. When I go to the beach, we always mow my parents lawn and their neighbors lawn and he loves it - all free of charge since we stay there we do the lawns and people see us doing it and start asking us to do theirs as well... This Video has made me decide that if I create an on-the-side lawn care business now and he enjoy's it still it can be something that we can do together and give him some spending money growing up while still in school.

Just did. Made my first $500 in the last couple weeks while I do my normal job. Got a refurbished 7 hp honda self-propelled. Got a nice gas blower and weed wacker. Hand edger and some other tools. I've been using my car to do all this. I could really use a truck, but man it would be hard to give up my Charger. Faaack. Been doing as many jobs as I can. Need to do a newspaper ad. Got a lead on a truck at auction and an old wright stand up. Got a guy that refurbishes mowers, so he can make sure it doesn't fall apart on me. Wish me luck.

It was about 2 a.m. where I live and I began to realize that what I did whenever I was awake.. wasn't doing it. It is coming to a point where I think I'm exhausted of everything; screw all my small activities, all my Non-beneficial goals and anything else similar, as I do every week around the same time. I've read books, seen documentaries and this and that, but.. today, it feels like I've stumbled across someone who I could relate to. One who can explain his life in a way a 'guy like myself' would, who had the struggles I'm having. Anyways, I appreciate the videos you're putting up. For the first time in a while, I feel like "Man, maybe moving up in the world is actually realistic and I need to fall down. That despite things being embarrassing.. that has to come with being successful." And I thank you because I never thought about that. That there's nothing wrong with being Embarrassed with having crappy stuff or being in a crappy situation as long as you are trying to better yourself because that itself is not embarrassing. Great video man! It makes me want to start a business, even though I have a few accounts already. I heard that thing about the trailer, and maybe for all the people who are thinking about an option for a truck, if there is one in someone'e price range, but a long bed is a LIFESAVER. Better road handling than a truck and trailer together, and sometimes cheaper than a little short bed truck. Just my two cents, and good luck to all the others out there starting out!

Keith your words are very powerful and encouraging. I just recently started my lawn care business last month after a long time waiting because i hesitated for so long. I have to thank you and Greg #Geek to freak fitness&Lawn care for the encouragement without you I would probably be still hesitating. This video is almost the perfect example of my situation I work a full time job with 3 children and my fiance lost her job a few months ago so I live paycheck to paycheck. But the good side of the story is I am starting off alot better than most people are because I already have a truck, riding lawn mower, push mower, and some other tools that were given to me. I also already made business cards and flyers. My last steps are establishing customers and getting insurance. Thanks again Keith.

Last year started strong and due to personal reasons, employee issues and life ended last season in a low spot. Just did 4 hours this afternoon for 93$ (80€) Did first with big steel blade about a foot off the ground then went back to nylon 3mm once all cut. Back there tomorrow for another 4 hours and another 93$ (80€) Cash, Fresh in the hand at 7:00 pm just in time for the supermarket. This is the way forward guys. 200$ for 8 hours work. I started out with a lawn mower and weedwacker and a broom in my car, doing 3 lawns a week then it turned into 8 a week, and I bought a 7000$ truck I saved for , and from there I got new mowers and weed wackers, blowers tools... You're such an inspiration man, I'm running my landscape business that I started about a few months ago and it's hard cause all I have is my car, but still get a few clients. I'm trying to save up for a truck and get more clients. This is motivating me to do it.

Awesome and inspirational video. I'm a mechanic and started buying cheap non running push mower's and weedeater. Fixed them up cheap and now have 3 mowers, and weedeater incase 1 fails. Now I finally have my own Facebook business page and it will take time and patience but like you said it only takes 1 customer.

I'm a 15 year old trying to start a landscaping business so I can save up money for a truck, insurance, gas I have to pay for everything and this really helped me get motivated to actually work towards my goal of being able to pay for all of that stuff

You know that line from the movie “If you build it, they will come?” Well if you just start cutting lawns, the clients WILL come. You don’t have to spend money on marketing, you don’t even have to be pushy. Just look around and you’ll find clients, they will refer you, and you’ll grow. Don’t rip people off, show up and do a decent job, you’ll grow.

Keith because of you I'm leaving my full time job in April. I've Been there for 7 years making decent money. Three years ago I had my first child and started cutting lawns to make extra money. No I have a $10,000 mower and everything else. But because of your words of wisdom and your story of how you were driven to become your own successor, is what has driven me to do the same. Maybe you can make a video of how to be most productive when people finally cut the cord. That would be great. Thank you for all that you do. Never stop.

Been following for some time and decided to quit my 8-4. Made an account on Thumbtack and i been getting work left to right now. just landed a $3800 resod contract and i been super exited. Wanted to come on and say that this video was the straw that broke this camels back. I refuse to make some one else rich and i too the jump. Im now officially in business for myself and am making more in 3 hours then it would take me 2 days at my 8-4. Thank you for the inspiration and i'll post a few clips later on..

Well brother at the moment if you only knew how much I owe the feds plus on house arrest with little time to work delivering pizza. Kool man, remembering a time in my job this part time employee was always asking me for money. And at times I brought an extra for lunch because I knew he didn't bring lunch with him, and one day we had our lunch at work he told me he told me he didn't know what was expected in his life . And where and how ever get by. Your video brought back memories of this guy..I told him to barrow a truck and a lawnmower. And make a little money.. he brought his grandfather old dodge pu with a old lawnmower. And told me after work I am gonna cut my neighbors yard. And I never saw him again. .. 1 year last my department received a call from the lobby. That I had a visitor. Downstairs. . Lord and behold it was the guy that was always broke, never had money. Wanted to see me.he just stopped by to thank me for encouraging him in his time of needs.. and I ask him how's that old truck doing.. he then told me let's go outside for a minute. . And to my surprise. His brand new crew cab truck with his 16 ft trailer loaded with lawn equipment. .and a 3 man crew in his crew cab truck.. and he told me god bless you, for encouraging me. To take no for an answer. .and to do what needs to be done to get myself out of the hole my life was in.. and then I told him it was gods blessings your at a better spot just keep looking forward. And to put god first. And he would be there..his eye's watered and his breath sallowed a bit and gave me a hug..and told me thank you again. As he drove off he looked back one last time, and jester a smile and a wave. Never to see him again. Your video Keith. Brought a tear in my eyes this morning. God bless you bro. All i can say is thats what im doing now. I worked n a warehouse setting for 2 yrs and now i own my truck, i have a truck bed trailer, i have a lawn mower for 30 bucks, i have a weedeater and uard tools from home depot, i quit my job on friday so i could get my own business started, what it takes is hard work and motivation, i was actually questioning whether or not i made the right choice by quitting and your video inspired me more that i have this, my own truck, trailer, crappy equipment, but i have people who love my work and dont care about how crappy my stuff is, they like the person doibg their lawn becouse of the happiness i bring to their door when they open it, be who you want to be and dont let anything stop your tracks. We are all proud of you!!!!!!! Thanx for this video
