There’s just something about holiday themed gmod maps that I love so much

Heyo, Ahsoka from the gravestone at 18:32 on the left. At 27:45 I gotta correct you on this, the map was almost entirely inspired by the game Darkest Dungeon by Red Hook Studios ((To be specific, the Color of Madness DLC)), not Xcom. Pufulet even went as far as piecing together and coding an announcer system for the server the map was primarily designed for, Sunrust, similar to the one in Darkest Dungeon with an echo-y voice 'announcing' the beginning and end of each wave of zombies that mimics the start and end of a combat encounter. Initially Pufulet looked to hiring Wayne June himself to do the voiceover, but the cost of hiring him was too much for Pufulet's budget at the time so he settled on a guy named Rosko Peeko who imitated the voice fairly well. You can even see Rosko's gravestone at 18:27 on the right. I also saw someone mention they noticed the STALKER soundscapes in the map's background and you'd be correct. Pufulet asked me a few years back for help in getting background sounds for his map zs_cabin and so I mostly pulled ambient sounds from STALKER: CoP to mix in with basic HL2 soundscapes. And he continues to use some of those STALKER soundscapes in other maps he makes.

God, I love those Halloween atmosphere-centered maps, or any media in general, it's the definition of creepy and comfy in my opinion

Half of the map was sealed in the latest version because it was considered too big for zombie survival. I'm glad that you did explore it entirely as it was heartbreaking to seal it off!

10:06 the thunder crack after discovering the hidden grave and uttering the name written on it. Perfect. The meteorite sorta makes me think of the Lovecraft story the Color Out of Space.

I'd love you to explore christmas maps when the time comes around, more for the comfy factor than the creepy.

This is one of those maps in which the soul was invested. The atmosphere is wonderful: 50% is ambient, 50% is visual. And the rest are 100% nostalgic anchors and the beauty of artistic inferiority.

When you mentioned how most abandoned structures have christmas deco sometimes littered about or all in one room, that's mostly because allot of abandoned buildings get closed around Christmas usually. So it's become a running thing that every abandoned place that The Proper People go to, seeing as they are urban explorers, and really honest and good ones at that, that they try to at least see if they can find the christmas decorations for a building if it was closed around christmas as you'd expect. Of course they don't always find said decorations, but they still have great content imo.

It doesn't matter which typemap you're playing but, this is the kind of halloween or holiday maps that is perfect for this month

The crashed meteor affecting the color of the fragment's surroundings looks like a nod to HP Lovecraft's 'The Color Out Of Space.' Very cool.

30:03 Ok I think the inspiration for the map is the Farmstead from Darkest Dungeon, which in itself is a huge reference to Colors Out of Space from H. P. Lovecraft.

this is gonna sound cliche but you don't see a lot of underrated gems like this channel that much anymore idk what you're doing to make the vids so enjoyable.. but whatever it is keep doing it

I've always been nervous around glowing space rocks. You never know if one is hosting an alien goo that wants to eat your brain, or is just going to cause some benign gravitational or temporal anomaly.

Your videos have made me want to do my near yearly re-install of Garry's Mod, the fact you upload this while I'm in the middle of looking for maps to download is wonderfully fitting.

You might want to give HL2: Halloween Pumpkin Night a go. It's a very old singleplayer mod (short episode) that starts with you and your AI friend trick or treating through the neighborhood. It wasn't the best looking thing ever, being one of the first HL2 user mods ever made, but it had some great atmosphere and concept and would be _perfect_ for your channel.

I love this map and even more because the map's creator was inspired by Darkest Dungeon's Color of Madness DLC with... well... you, comment reader, will see.

To be honest I'm just always here in this channel it's because of the GMOD he playing I'm always using his Gmod videos for sleeping not for watching his voice is a ASMR for me and also plus the environment sounds from GMOD it's perfect for me.

As a haunted house builder i can tell you that one of the coffins against the wall will spring open with some kind of zombie in it.

I'm only 2 seconds in and this is already unbelievably comfy. October is gonna be a good month for videos.

I'm so enthralled by the mood set by exploring this awesome map alone. It gives me a vibe not of lonliness or that the place has been abandoned, but the feeling that you just finished setting up all the decorations, and now you're strolling through the area during your downtime and admiring the work put into everything before everybody shows up and the event kicks off. It gives me the same giddyness and stomach flutter that getting ready to close up shop and leave gives me. That pleasant moment in the middle where you can relax and enjoy having to do nothing. Great video :]

You should absolutely play amnesia and the fan made maps made, like amnesia small horse, it’s pretty much a creepy and crack map that i really think as one the best I remember, you should give it a try

Your theory about those glowing rocks coming from the moon brings up a lotta questions as to the lore of this universe you are peering into. Our moon doesn’t produce its own light but rather reflects the sun’s light. Having those rocks be glowing implies that in this world, not only does the moon produce light but that something is inhabiting it to the point where they knock off chunks of the moon that fall to earth and corrupt their surroundings. The implications of the moon rocks affecting earthly beings (corpses and presumably plants) means that there is an added heir of supernatral energy that radiates off the moon itself. Why would the moon, a barren mass of bleach white rock and space dust, turn corpses and people into undead monsters? Who knows and it brings an added sense of creepy-ness that gets worse and worse the longer you think about it.

there are a LOT of good zombie survival maps which i feel are great to explore, but arent really checked out because theyre made for a gamemode about using the map to survive.

The workshop page says that this map is fully NPC noded, so it can theoratically be played with the mod 'Zombie/NPC Invasion+' and with spawning in Left 4 Dead zombies or No More Room in Hell zombies.. Hope they won't get stuck on many stuff. I'll need to check it out, just hope I don't get sucked into it for hours again like it happened to me while doing the same on mm_rot. :D Also, as the worksop paige said the whole meteor around the windmill theme is based around the 'Color Out Of Space' by H.P. Lovecraft.

I dont think those objects are levitating. It looks more like they were frozen in time after being thrown by the impact of the meteors. The house with the table and vase is mid flip and shater away from the creator like it was in gje middle of following physics and then time just stopped for it leaving it frozen in midair
