They could go back in time way before the Naytiba takeover and let us explore the very developed and technological world the humans built, with the androids or humanoid things as enemies. A little bit of context. Life in South Korea isn’t as glamorous as their media exports. Koreans fight against impossible odds and overwhelming chaebols/consortiums on a daily basis. Just like most Korean games, Stellar Blade is a reflection on the South Korean society. It’s literally in the face, Samsung means 3 stars, and there’s a Tetrastar Electronic in game.

I got the impression from the various endings that Mother Sphere's objective was not to save Earth but to conquer it. It's the only thing that makes sense as to why the next Airbourne squad attack EVE after merging with Adam (as they still see EVE as a Natyba). And why Earth was being encased in the ending where EVE doesn't merge (unless MS was preparing Earth for an alien invasion). Either way I think Mother Sphere was the actual villain in this story.
@ThePlasticBowl
@ThePlasticBowl 6 күн бұрын
MS is definitely the villian especially if we get a sequel because MS wants the extermination of all Naytiba, which are actually the original humans. Thats why MS is says Eves decision is slightly disappointing in the 2 endings were EVE merges with Adam because technically EVERY didn’t kill the Elder Naytiba but she did technically get rid of it by fusing with it.

Space merms … the descent is Mother Sphere reseeding because you’re not the first EVE that gets absorbed. Adam guides you through stages he himself sets up to test your sapience. The conflict is just an illusion left standing to filter specimen.

@ChuckBrailsford
@ChuckBrailsford 14 күн бұрын
I think it was intentional to some extent. These are artificial beings, with implanted/programmed memories and ideas, and limited in emotion. Of course they are going to seem flat and be incapable of developing relationships at the level of real humans. Not saying translation and/or voice acting couldn't have been improved, but people are criticizing the performances a little unfairly, and missing the point slightly imo

@@ChuckBrailsfordthank you for saying that I feel a lot of people miss this very point. It makes sense for Eve to be a little naïve because she doesn’t know she never been to earth. The characters like Eve and Lily, only know what they’ve been told from the colony.

@allandm 14 күн бұрын
@@ChuckBrailsford it would be totally fine for them to be flat at the start, but not for 80% of the game. At the end of the day the game is played by humans and characters need to be engaging for the player. @allandm wait you're expecting human development in a robot? You do realize how virtually impossible that is right? Especially considering there isn't a single actual human being in this entire story that's alive. Expecting human development and character depth from a being ru Ning strictly on code in face value with any amount of actual critical thinking skills.Is absurd and asinine. Whom were they supposed to learn all this human behavior from exactly? A book? A data log? Data from StarTewk TNG spent 9 years around actual human beings and never evolved past a flat personality. Even when he obtain human emotions he's still a machine and never was able to fully process them. Yet you want androids in a game with the time span of a week to a few months. To evolve to he multilayered emotional human beings? 😂

@@KaoticIndustrial maybe, there are some strange interactions. But I also think that they could've done much better in regards to Eve, especially her relationship with Tachy. Like show us a bit if what her life was like in the colony, don't kill Tachy right away, let us a bond with a bit before she dies so we feel something when she's back. Show us what Eve thinks about mother sphere, show us her devotion and how dhe slowly starts doubting her. Adam needed to not look bored all the time, he needed to do some kind of bonding with Eve. There's just so many missed opportunities, it's insane.

This reminds me of Veda from Gundam 00. Although both are Artificial Super intelligence created to carry a single persons will. Veda was never programmed to override the Aeolia Schenberg plan but programmed to strictly follow the plans protocols. Mother sphere on the other hand was given authority to go above and beyond the creators protocols in order to achieve it's objective. This led to its own equations and conclusions. really love these stories.

I didn't delve too deep into the lore bits when I picked them but I found the way the story was presented in-game to do a great job of telling it without making you go "what was I doing and why?" The only thing that I didn't get to near the end was the truth of Adam and who he was. Though with the Adam and Eve naming thing I should have probably caught on sooner. But yeah I really enjoyed the story and the world it was presented in. Hopefully a sequel is in order.

Haven’t seen the one where lily dies but in both of those, one though seems more definitive than the other. The secret ending kind of puts a lid on the whole issue. The “good” ending leaves a lot more to be discovered. What was all those rings around earth? What’s mother’s sphere real plan for earth? I’m REALLY looking forward to part 2.

The way you tell a story is sometimes more important than the story itself. And this story is very good, but in the game it doesn't fully shine. Perhaps because of the urgency of paying more attention to the gameplay and having very little time for cinematics. There is a lot of lore in the notes you find, but we all know that we gamers don't invest time in reading any of that. That's why these videos are so well received. I liked it a lot. Thank you.

If you think about it too hard, you realize how convoluted and roundabout the actions and choices of mother sphere and adam are. A simple solution to the DNA humans would be cyborgs, if they have the technology for androids, they have the technology for cyborgs. Memorysticks would be one way to "reincarnate" someone. Kinda like in Neir Automata. 2nd, mother sphere warring with the Naytiba over who control's earth, she didn’t need to war with them at all, she had the high ground and could drop many asteroids/comets/whatever and made the surface uninhabitable for centuries to come. She had access to the entire solar system, plenty of resources to keep the old humans grounded, or wipe them out, while she created her own species.

I really love this game. The story is great. Gameplay is 🔥! For my first play through, I’ve rejected Adam hands. Mainly because of Tachy and the deceptive and manipulative ways of Adam. Adam could’ve literally called off all the monsters we’ve fought. Though it was fun to fight. Not saying Mother Sphere is a saint or anything. Plus, the last two boss fights got on my nerves with at least 30 retries on normal. 😡 😅 I’m really impressed with the storytelling mixing in some biblical/ book of Enoch references such as the demigorgon multi wings and eyes design, fallen Angels impact on mankind, Adam/Eve, mixture of people staying faithful to mother sphere/ questioning the faith/ or rejecting it all together, and etc. Shift Up much make a sequel that follows up on the decision we’ve made. That way none of the endings are cannon, while giving us the option to play it our way.

Maybe I missed it but did you discuss why "our EVE" is called EVE from the start and all other squad members have different names or nicknames? I don't think that she becomes the chosen one throughout the story, rather she was chosen to be the EVE from the beginning (altho given the high mortality rate of the 7th squad's landing leaving just her alive is a bit contrived lol). Also there is a data point found in the Great Desert called "Notes on EVE Protocol 4". It states, "According to my intel, the seventh Angel, EVE, has been sent for the seventh EVE protocol. The time has come. Praise Mother Sphere! Praise EVE's ascension." I guess it's not super clear but I interpreted this as meaning "our EVE" is the true chosen one by design. Not to say that an 8th or 9th squad would not have been sent if our EVE of the seventh failed but it does explain why EVE is called EVE, why Tachy was so protective of her vs every other other soldier and also why she is dressed so differently than all the rest. There is a theory that every airborne squad had their own EVE and that Raven was the one from the 2nd but then why is she called Raven. And she calls herself Raven very early on in the first legacy the player comes across so at that point she would have been somewhat early in her adventure as our EVE is but the latter does not give herself a different name. I suppose it could be a difference in programming or something. Well whatever, I'm gonna stop arguing with myself but I am very curious why the EVE we play as is special and is special from the beginning. She is not just special because she survives the longest.

My interpretation is that there is an "EVE" within each generation of airborne, handcrafted and chosen by Mother Sphere to be the most likely to fulfill the EVE protocol. As to whether they're all named Eve I'm not sure, but an argument could be made that Raven renamed herself after becoming an Alpha Naytiba or at least after discovering the truth. I believe she states that the legacies were planted as breadcrumbs to lure/entice Eve so could have been recorded and planted with lies. Perhaps that's also why Marks made her an Alpha, an attempt at the fusion but realizing that her body frame wasn't perfect for transcendence?

There is no colony, there never was. Not in the way they remember it. It's not a place of peace or life as we know it. It is a cold utilitarian ring surrounding earth for the singular goal of keeping humanity safe. That is Mother spheres programming and that is her only focus. It is already clear, their happiness is not required. It was always strange how they always talk about the colony but are never nostalgic about it. Not even Lilly, who should be nostalgic and a little homesick.

So everything in the story is perfect for me and I understand everything expect one thing. After the fusion, Eve now has Adam’s knowledge and stuff. However, it’s Adam I’m a bit confused with. After fusing with Eve, is Adam dead or is he inside of eve kinda? Like tied to her soul or kinda like venom from spider man or better in context the movies.

I feel like the story can be described as "Awfully convenient". Its awfully convenient that: Raphael was spared from Mother Sphere's initial purge. Raphael was the only human that was able to retain his mind. Orcal was saved by a "human" who just so happens to be his creator. Xion is fully powered down and on the brink when Eve gets there while "Adam" could have helped, since he was easily able to get an Hypercell. "Adam" saving Eve was a "burst of emotion", note that he saved her from HIS UNDERLINING. No one noticed the huge Naytiba on top of the Space Elevator, ever. Orcal knowing the Alpha was up there when his eyes were always groundside. Raven's Legacies being Eve's path, which was exactly where each Hypercell was located. Dudes, Eve was manipulated totally and completely. In the "true ending", Eve did everything Adam directed her to. Aside from lore fragments, which were not mentioned by Eve nor Lily, those two never found out who "Adam" was, if they did, I think they would have a very different reaction. As far as I'm concerned, the "True ending" is the "Bad Ending", and there are no "Good" ones to have here. Pick your poison. And Raphael named himself "Adam"? I'm not sure if Shift Up wanted to name it like that to make an analog of "Adam and Eve" or if it would have an in-game explanation. Because if there's a reason in game he chose that name... naming himself after the first man... I feel like we were dealing with someone with a god complex.

Well for the last part, Raven outright said before her boss fight that she deliberately left those Legacy recordings laying around for EVE to find on purpose. @@AICW But here's the thing... HOW would she know those were the places where Eve would look for Hypercells? And Adamn guided her to those places. Also, Adam said he got a message from Xion about something being wrong there, alright, that might have actually have been a curveball for Adam, but he didnt do anything to help the place and had Orcal die. He didnt even go there. Many things in the game's plot, to quote the Dwarf of Fuckin' Gratitude: "The pieces dont fit together right". Specially with knowing Adam's identity. I know Shift Up said they focused more on Gameplay than story in this game, but I hope in the sequel they build more on those questions, because that would be a curveball. Because it would throw it all out of wack on the "What is humanity?" to "What is free will?", because the former seems to be the theme going on here. Because, was it truly Eve's decision, if she was conditioned to make a certain choice?

So, might be a dumb question but why is Eve named Eve? Like Mother Sphere created the Eve Protocol decades prior to Eve and Tachy’s 7th Airborne Squad being sent out to find the Elder so like why was she specifically given the namesake of the entire mission that existed way before her? Was it somehow known that she was going to be special and go on the journey that she does or was it just pure coincidence that she happens to have the same name as the mission she’s on? Like theoretically speaking could that first dive have gone a way where the entire squad including Eve died but Tachy survived and she becomes the protagonist of the game? Like was there actually anything special about Eve or was she just the one that survived and happened to have that name?

We don't know. The fact they keep writing "EVE" in all caps indicates it's an acronym. Also another detail: when EVE throws Raven's sword at her after defeating her, you can see on the hilt it has "EVE" written on it. Which seems to imply Raven is not her original name, but that she may have been an earlier version of an "EVE" from the 2nd Airborne Squad.

I just wish the game did a better job of explaining exactly what Eve (and the other "humans" in this universe) are. I have completed the game 100%, found all the documents, watched all the cutscenes and endings, did all the side quests, and I'm still confused about what Eve (and the other "Humans") actually are. It also doesn't help that the game itself gives conflicting information. A few examples: -So, the "humans" in this universe are not organic humans, they are essentially androids, created by Mother Sphere, (an extremely advanced AI). However, we see characters bleed red blood, we see one character's arm get chopped off (Tachy) and it looks normal on the inside, with blood, muscle, skin, sinew, and bone. But we also see another character's arms get chopped off (Raven) and you can see some mechanical parts on the inside. Also Enya's body is entirely mechanical on the inside, as we see. But we see children in this world. So now I'm really confused, there are children? I thought the people in this universe were androids. How are there children? Does Mother Sphere actually build children model androids? For what purpose? And, that must suck, imagine being stuck as a kid for all eternity. Also, they mention "no ageing", but then why is Orcle an old man and why does the guy from that one store whose daughter you save look old? Was Oracle built to look like an old man? If so what would be the purpose? And what is with that one guy in Xion wearing glasses? Wouldn't poor eyesight have been eliminated with the advancements of cybernetics? Wouldn't he have perfect eyesight if he were an android? What is going on here? We also hear Lilly complain about the tetrapod not having air conditioning, (very odd for beings that are supposedly unaffected by heat and cold), and we see Eve cry when Tachy dies for real, (how is she crying if she doesn't have organic parts?), we see the "humans" in this world feel pain, have feelings and emotions, need to eat and drink, (you mention that they don't need to eat, but then why does Barry talk about needing fish and wine to create dishes, why does Eve talk about eating a paste-like substance while she was in the Colony, why is there a burner with a plate of food being made at all of the camp sites/save stations?), why does Eve need to rest, etc. This all seems very odd if they are indeed machines. We also see corpses of dead "humans" that appear to be decayed. Again, very odd if they are androids. And then we have Eve who at one point in the game talks about having been born. Uhm, what? I though she was an android. I would also have like at least some kind of explanation as to how Eve's sword works, because that straight up just seems like magic. I'm left really confused by all this. To me it seems like the developers could not make up their minds about whether they wanted the people in this universe to be robots or humans. Which also begs the question of did Adam even think his plan through? If Eve is to become the start of a new human race, then obviously she will need to have babies. Can she even have babies? Does she even have the right parts? Since she's an android doesn't she basically look like a Barbie doll "down there"? I don't know, maybe someone can explain some of this to me. I did enjoy the game, but some of the story elements went right over my head I feel like. In my honest opinion it would have been way less confusing if the people were just normal humans with cybernetic implants. The Naytiba's part in the story I fully understand. The game actually did a great job at explaining what the Naytiba's are and how they work. In a nutshell it's basically Resident Evil. The real organic humans messed around with genetic engineering and an experiment went awry and created a sort of "virus" that infects people and turns them into these horrible mindless monsters and now they are all that is left of the organic humans, with Adam (Raphael Marx) being the only one that didn't lose his humanity (somehow) when he got infected and changed, (kind of like Wesker in Resident Evil). Although, I am confused as to how Adam seemingly has God-like powers and appears to be able to conjure up objects through sheer thought alone. I mean heck, this dude creates a hypercell out of thin air near the end of the game and even managed to get into the nest without the 4 Alpha Naytiba cores. Don't know why he didn't just do that at the beginning of the game when Xion really needed it though, and I don't know why Eve had to collect 4 Alpha Naytiba cores if Adam could just open the nest up whenever he wants.
@ThePlasticBowl

So here’s what I’m gathering but I could be wrong so don’t quote me it is all kinda convoluted. Eve is the most current and advanced version of Mother Spheres Adroos Eidos, her mission is to kill Naytibas (however Naytiba’s are actually the original pure humans that have been genetically modified unsuccessfully. The people of Xion are also Androos Eidos just earlier versions of them than Eve that think their humans because Mother Sphere wiped their memories to ensure they would trust and follow her. It’s very confusing but it’s alot of back and forth between to evolving (or devolving factions) basically: Original humans created Mother Sphere > Mother Sphere created androids to serve humans but then realized androids were superior to humans and created better androids (Androos Eidos) and ordered androids to attack which cause war between humans and androids > Humans lost and those that survived went into hiding > Humans decided to fight back by genetically modifying themselves but the modifications failed and turned them into Naytibas > Naytibas now start beating Androos Eidos and Mother Sphere creates better Androos Eidos(Eve, Tachy, and the previous Airborne Squads) to fight them.
@AICW
@AICW 4 күн бұрын
I can answer the thing about Tachy vs. Raven's arms. Raven is one of the earliest Airborne Squad units, she's all the way back from the 2nd drop squad. Tachy is from the 7th. She's five generations more advanced than Raven, hence why her body is much more convincingly organic under the surface, whereas Raven only is organic at skin-level and is mostly mechanical under that.
