Hmm did they write themselves into a corner with Garruk's corruption? There were worlds he would have been perfect for but he beat everyone he came across and the base power imbalance between the 5, he was able to smash through Jace and Liliana (the opposite colors admittedly but this isn't pokemon like) and at that point did they realize they'd written their Best Boy Jace (that's a joke) too weak? Liliana's powers are only getting weaker (though her characterization is getting stronger as "Black Mana = Evil" is being actively worked against as time goes on). I mean when he finds Liliana she won't be any match for him as he can easily overpower her like he did before and the only reasons she was able to fight back was a) the Veil and b) Innistrad, which were crutches for her even after her pact with the demons. I sense they realised he'd been too powerful and sort of floundered with how to use him. Which is a pity I was hoping he'd crop up again - they sort of replaced him with Nissa or Vivian for a while - - curious to see where they go with him next, maybe they will try tap into a side of him that resists violence more and perhaps strives to find harmony and balance.... Or just another killing Spree

I am one of the relative few that genuinely liked the original game and I am glad the setting is getting some fresh love. I just wish we had a world closer to the first game where there is a war being fought against the rhogarr and that you can encounter some of the battles.

Pssh... Only like 10 seconds for Ulgrotha? Nothing about fan favourite stories like the abduction of Irini Sengir or the betrayal of Ishan's Shade? Nothing about the beloved trio Chandler, Joven and Eron? Granny Sengir's revival to fight in the March Of The Machines?!? Total waste of my time... (obvs joking - well did video - doing engagement)

The female-line and male-line genetic memory thing is interesting. Women have X-chromosomes. Only men have Y-chromosomes.

Given the Fremen constant and high exposure to spice, wouldn’t this have been a constant threat to their developing fetuses?

I blame the Bene Gesserit. They viewed human emotions as weakness and didn't plan on the possibility that maybe not everyone in their order would be a complete psychopath.

To become a messiah in Dune you need 4 key ingredients. 1. Thousands of years of Inbreeding between nuns and nobility. 2. Exposure to the drug spice which comes from worm larvae. 3. poisonous blue worm p*ss and 4. Spreading very vague tales to a control a primitive fanatical weak minded population in the lies of prophecy.

Nicol Bolas and Nahiri are truly the two most dispicable characters in Magic's lore. Nicol Bolas is just s selfish, uncaring force of malevolence. However, Nahiri is far worse. She's the petty Donald Trump figure of magic. Nahiri knows what she's doing is wrong--she just doesn't care. She wants to hurt Sorin and the multiverse for how it's wronged her. She's just a pathetic excuse of a being with godlike power. Compleation didn't make her bad, it made her worse.

Reading Children of Dune it was just shocking to me that no one even tried to help Alia at any point. Maybe it's because genetic memory is such a ridiculous concept and it's not clear why a memory wouldn't be static but would exist like an active independent creature somehow, but most of all the repetition of "abomination" really seemed like an attempt to disguise there being no earned reason why it was inevitable and fatal.

It's because those who unlock past memories also because hyper intelligent usually because of the huge amount of spice, Because they are just fetuses they can glitch with all the past memories shoved in them and what's worse is that it's both Female and Male.

The Imperium occupies only a small section of the Milky Way galaxy which is 100000 light years in diameter. Humanoids dominate this area but that might not be the case in other areas of our galaxy. The emperor of the known universe used to address the emperor is a term beyond arrogance.

This is great, though it missed an important caveat at the end of the Shadows Over Innistrad Block: the Gatewatch didn't succeed at sealing Emrakul away but rather, she chose to seal *herself* away. She sensed that the plane wasn't ready to be cleansed, so she took control of Tamiyo and forced her to use a forbidden scroll that would allow Emrakul to chill in the moon for a while.

I always thought that the Voice stimulated the reflex pathway of a person to unconsciously do the bidding of someone in the same way that people unconsciously move their hand in response to pain. It basically bypasses the conscious sensory integration of the input and directly skips over to motor output. At the same time, people who are trained in the Voice can resist it in the same way that masochists are able to take pain without moving their hand for example.

Over my many decades pondering dune, its intricacies still intrigue me to this day. An observation ive made about the BeneG , they really put significant effort devoting countless years and fortunes facilitating the emergence of a being that is by practical definition incapable of being controlled. Not only were their major goals a gamble against the youse at best, they also maintained a gatekeeping position on spices further capabilities. In later novels its made clear that males can undergo spice change the very same way BeneG do, and excluding them was potentially a mistake. Males could have bridged gaps and made the politics of the breeding program significantly easier. A male could father a great many children with similar women allowing significantly more, thousands more lifetimes added to the already diverse othwr menory. Just a few thoughts.

Apologies up front for my overlong comment. Good video but it got me thinking about my main question(s) about the Dune Universe. I could never fully get into the whole Dune Universe because of the Bene Gesserit. If you're into it all, B.G. included, awesome. Personally, I'd be interested in how that galactic mercantile organisation works, (CHOAM?), and why the Spacing Guild, which seems like it has a stranglehold on interplanetary trade and military operations doesn't just run the galaxy by itself or in tandem with CHOAM(?)and dump the hilariously antiquated notion of ruling by divine right-emperors and dukes and all that-on the trash heap of history. As to the Bene Gesserit, and their "wisdom", ANY woman who has ever had her mother and one or both of her grandmothers, plus assorted aunts, great aunts, etc., trying to all give her conflicting and often contradictory advice knows too well that the idea of an endless line of descendants' voices-whether male or female-would be less than useless. Maddening for sure but HOW is this at all beneficial, let alone a crucial part of the reason the B.G. Order is so powerful and influential? And I'm not buying that the individual Bene Gesserit could pick and choose who to ignore. How? The whole experience would be completely new to anyone attempting to awaken these past memories. A wrong choice seems inevitable, as the choices are virtually limitless, odds seem that the voice that you respond to, listen to, isn't necessarily going to be the wise one or the honest one, it's going to be the convincing one. And regardless, we are all subject to our own foibles, phobias, biases and prejudices, whether "honest" or "wise" or not. Did dying make these ancestral women infallible? Do cave women join in? The women who, during their lives, had no notion of anything beyond their home, their village, their planet? Do the millions of women who held while alive, religious beliefs have anything to say about that now that they are dead? Is it all a sham? The orange Catholic Bible an abomination? Is connecting to a B.G. adept a form of Hell? So many questions. I don't think that Mr. Herbert knew a lot of women. Not saying anything against women. I'm one, we're swell. Awesome. Neat-O, even. But people suck. Some people suck all the time, most only suck some of the time. Taken as a group, of varying suckage, all clamouring for your attention, you're better off trusting in yourself. And if you kind of suck too, it comes to the same thing, so, why am I risking my life to open up this potential trip to the Looney Bin, do not pass Go, do not collect 200 Dollars to listen to people who likely suck about as much as I do? Again, Mr. Herbert may have held some odd notions about women or ancestral wisdom or the value of listening to someone so out of touch that your daily life might seem like magic to them but I'm not buying it.

You're kind of ignoring the biggest part here: They might suck, but they have information. Information is worth more than gold, especially after the Butlerian Jihad, and that combined with an order of women who can basically read a person's mind and downright influence it means a lot of power. There's a reason why B.G. Rev Mothers go through rigorous training and conditioning, exactly what you mentioned: Reduce the risk so they become able to truly wield the information and not go insane. Even if the people before you suck, they have crucial knowledge that you could use about others. Relatives of powerful people, administrators, queens, wise folk, they absolutely may suck but their knowledge is indispensable and highly useful when running a covert organization. Nobody worth their salt would shirk the power of knowing how to escape past mistakes.
