I feel like the whole community thinks that the ending of the new Phyrexia threat was rushed. Phyrexians have been an enemy in magic since the beginning and in the last years, since Bolas' banishing, they were making moves towards this big goal of multiversal compleation. We get to see how much of a menace they are in Dominaria United and All will be one, and in March of the Machines, we get half of the stories where they are stomping everyone and everything feels hopeless, and the other half is just Norn throwing a tantrum at Elspeth. And then it ends. Tamiyo and Lukka die (which were the only good parts of the story) and all the other compleated planeswalkers either disappear or are cured; zhalfir is back in the multiverse, but not in Dominaria, so it's still isolated, and that's basically all. The stakes felt high, and it was a letdown. I feel like there should have been two or even three sets for this multiversal war, because this big event has been teased for a long time, and now we are just going back to Eldraine, with no apparent major consequences. Yeah, there's the aftermath set, but I'm pretty sure that will be mostly Nahiri getting cured, or something. I'm sorry for rambling, I just wanted to express my feelings about this issue here.

Isnt the big lasting effect that the planes are more or less connected now? Phyrexia used Realmbreaker to allow invasion on all the planes of the multiverse. Now that they are gone, certainly there is going to be unforeseen consequences of this manipulation.

Wait a minute I just looked it up when Yawgmoth died the old phyrexian all stoped working just like in march of the machines when the oil came into contact with mirroden thank to Karn new phyrexian we’re born and we and they were defeated the same way so why are people made about it it’s like they forgot.

@@michaeltaylor788 No, they lost their will to fight and were destroyed after, not literally falling apart like in MOM (and the oil still worked). This is a big difference since it destroys any possibilities for leftover phyrexian pockets (e.g. on worlds that got completely overrun) like the one on new capenna.

Literally mutated their entire body and minds, but enough plot armor means all the compleated planeswalkers (who didn't die) will be un-compleated. Gotta love WotC and their non-committal nature.

I was thinking Wotc would have made this similar to Infinty War and Endgame. Instead we got some rushed story and small glimpses of what happened on other planes.

I think it's SUCH bullshit that the Phyrexians just did the whole "And then the robots shut down" thing. It's not like there was anyone ordering the oil to compleat Mirrodin. It's almost like they've been trying to sweep the old baddies of magic out of the way to make room for their new storylines, continuity be damned.

I just looked it up when Yawgmoth died the old phyrexian stoped working for example on new cappena the old phyrexian are outside the city like they are sleeping the same thing happened in march of the machines did people reading and or listening to the story forget ?.

@Michael Taylor The New Phyrexians were created by a single drop of the oil that dripped from Karn's Phyrexian-made hearthstone. It's been shown that the current Phyrexian invasion did not require direct orders, so it feels cheap for it to suddenly work differently than it used to.

Such threatening villains with an interesting lore behind built across decades... it would be such a pity if all of a sudden such relentess force of destructions happened to transform into little more than a mild nuisance of which the heroes could dispose with laughable ease.

Kinda makes you wonder how the phyrexian were defeated just because Norn died. Norn didn't exist when karn brought the oil to mirrodin. Sloppy stuff.

The oil connected all infected by it in a hive mind Norn (being a control freak she is she is the negative part of white mana after all ) after completely taking over connected the whole thing to her mind and her mind only so when she died she took the hive mind with her putting everything connected to it in a coma. No offense but when people don’t like a story they forget and or over look details in that story like I wrote above.
