Lot of tedious fitting, it looks great and the wood is easy to work with except the precise fitting of each plank……thanks Ben for this series on wood ship building

Why do we need two layers?

The second layer isn’t thick or strong enough to be the “only” layer. The first layer is purely functional and not to scale.
