I haven't done one of these in a while! But I get requests for updates on my Bunny plants fairly regularly, so I thought I'd put together a then vs now of plants that I first showed in my tortilla slap videos with ‪@unplantparenthood‬ -- some are good, some are not so good, and some are really not so good 🫣

Ahhh thank you for showing us what the myko looks like! I’ve been using it now for a few months, and I saw some in one of my plants but I wasn’t sure it was a good thing or not 😂

I bought a 3-leaf AOS Tezula Dark top cut with no roots. It took 4 1/2 MONTHS to get any roots. I was positive I’d tossed my money away, but she’s finally growing. No new leaves yet, but I’m hopeful. Yours gives me hope. It’s beautiful!

Hi Alice. I love this type of video very much. But I love every video you do! I credit you for the fact that I've aquired 2 seelings and a young dorayaki cross and a tiny wendlandii 😂 I find them difficult to grow. But I'm still learning. Merry Christmas ❤️ 💚

Lovely review or before/after. When you said 11 months, I was like "Dang, that's a long time!", but then I realized that I've been working with some babies for two years to get them out of the mini seedling stage... LOL.

Do you have a video on what foot candles you have different anthuriums at? I also found the clear plastic (orchid-type) pots like you have but self watering! I've only ever seen it twice in my life.

I would give your swamp bunny x ra5 some physan 20 (or other systemic fungicide), those kind of recurring root rot issues are commonly a sign of internal fungal infection. And it doesn't stay in the plant system for long, you can give it myco again after several weeks. I would actually take it out, soak in fungicide and plant in a fresh medium, then several weeks later reinoculate with myco.

Would you just soak the roots or the whole plant?

@@carolinebaines8735 roots is enough, but you can soak the whole plant if needed, like if there are fungal signs on the leaves. The only thing is that those fungicides are usually quite toxic, so you need to make sure to be careful with spills and if you soak the whole plant it becomes more risky. Soaking the roots and then planting them right away minimizes the risk of contact like the wet leaves could present. Of course always wear at least gloves if handling chemicals like that.

I found the best substrate for the Ra5 x Swamp Bunny!!! It’s called the Mineral Magic Mix from Crystal Star Nursery. It’s fixed so many of my problem child anthuriums 😂 They LOVE IT (not an understatement)

@@carolinebaines8735 I only use it on my finicky anthuriums, and I’ve had issues with pon in the past. Pricy yes, but it’s the best substrate I’ve found so far.

lol that RA5 x Swamp Bunny just can't decide if it wants to live or die. Those are the absolute worst plants one can own. You basically go from happiness to sadness, back to happiness and eventually back to sadness over and over again with them. I've given up on some of them and threw them into the trash - as I'm pretty confident that it's a genetic thing and will probably come back eventually.

Hello. So after watching you latest videos would I be right it 'guessing' that you're going to move away from semi hydro or is that just be with you Anthuriums? Also excuse my ignorance, with putting a Pon or Leca base would the roots that grow through then become water roots? I love that you explain water levels and what you have found bed for the plant, thank you for sharing 🌻

I’m definitely not moving away from pon! Especially since my DP absolutely adores it and I enjoy having a mixture of different substrates and potting styles to keep me on my toes 😆 And yes the roots that grow into the reservoir layer are typically fine to sit in water if they’re used to it always being wet! Although I think it doesn’t hurt to let the reservoir run out (but not get bone dry)

What is not super high humidity? Like 60-70%? I'm wondering if I should just concede to anthurium need over 60% humidity, but I know Charmaine and Amanda grow them in ambient. I don't know their ambient. In winter, mine is 35% with no humidifier.

I forgot which part of the video you’re referring to hahaha but in my opinion anthuriums for the most part can be acclimated to dry conditions provided they have a strong root system and consistent watering schedule!
