The reason why I love Dynasty Warriors so much is because of these kinds of moments. In a world filled entirely with nothing but badasses, there are still those that manage to stand out in the best way possible. Great video, great games.

Very solid list. Was expecting Huang Gai lighting Cao Cao's fleet on fire at Chi Bi to make the list. In Dynasty Warriors 9, it was accompanied with one of the very few times when the English dub actually nailed the delivery. "Cao Cao! On behalf of the entire Sun family, I've come to offer you OUR WARMEST GREETINGS!!!! HA HA HA HA HA!!!!!"

I can't say I'm surprised that Zhang Liao would end up being most of the moments on a list like this, he is without a doubt one of the most badass characters in all of dynasty warriors hell in all of the three kingdoms era even so it makes sense for him to have so many moments of badassary.

Ah yes. The Hulao Gate in DW5. My first Lu Bu trauma

one of the most badass moments is at the Ending of Wei when Cao Pi goes to greet his men with Zhenji, and Sima Yi dose that evil stare at them with that sadistic music, and as Cao Pi turns around, Sima Yi is standing normally, giving you the foreshadowing of what Jin's story is to come. 10/10

"I think Dynasty Warriors 4 is the only real game where they, like, explicitly show him eating it." Did you see what this madman does in his DW1 ending? XD

In my opinion, Dynasty warriors 7 has the best character death scenes and overall most of them are very good

Dude by the time Lu Bu came up at #2 I was thinking, "Wait there's no way he forgot about Xiahou Dun getting shot in the eye, eating it, then carrying on like the badass he is. Well deserved #1 spot! Great list, but I'd also put Sima Yi staring down Lu Xun's archer's arrow without flinching as it wounds him in 3. That's got to be in my top three. Only time the series shows blood and it worked so damn well! So many badass moments in these games it's hard to pick. By the way the new transitions and editing are SLICK

another honorable mention: Zuo Ci's scene in the Uprising of Xuchang, his first appearance after three games!

Like I genuinely don’t have a single complaint - cheers to my boy Zhang Liao making so many appearances because he’s a bamf, Sima Yi’s betrayal is chef’s kiss, and cheers to Xiahou Dun beating out Lu Bu’s scary butt because I genuinely didn’t know which way you were gonna lean between the two of them; either way, super stoked with how this list came out! All of the kudos!

Personally for me Nightowl the intro to each of your numbers for this video I think is your best and I hope you keep it. You saying the cutscene and then showing a video of it is just great! Ah, another relatively quieter day at work ... another good video. Love the way you titled every entry. That's the way, man, expressing your personal opinion on top of the great stuff. 😅👍 A bit of overlapping of stuff, but hey, it's DW, so it's all good. P.S. Played DW5 by 1 character per kingdom, then another character of another kingdom, picking up special items and 4th weapons, but stopped after playing Huang Zhong. Not a fun character in DW5 (I cannot decide between AAC or AAAC combos) and I got his 4th weapon by sheer luck (trading blows with Xiahou Yuan until I accidentally wondered into Zhang He territory, and sort-of accidentally chaining Zhang He once, which almost killed him. And yet Xiahou Yuan ... recovers HP, like another time? Damn.) Even Dong Zhuo is way more fun than Huang Zhong, my god. Well, at least cleared the Shu 5 Tigers, and 4 of each kingdoms. Maybe will pick up at a later time again.

When I played DW6 with SIMA YI (my favorite ever) I stayed in shock for many many days. That it PURE CINEMA!!

How about the scene in DW5 when Liu Bei learns about Guan Yu's death from and injured soldier and decides to go to war against Wu. I know there's no "action" in that scene but man, you can feel the tension, then the music picks up🤘 Zhao Yun trying to stop him. Mmm. Best scene imo. "Vengeance before Virtue" is the name of the scene.

Tbh I always loved Shu's Pov of Guan Yu's death in fan castle in dw 7, 8 and 9, seeing Guan Yu and the rest facing off the armies was really badass for me

I'm surprised you didn't mention the ships on fire at the battle of Chi Bi. It's one of the most iconic moments in the 3 kingdoms era. The Nanman forces introducing the elephants is also really badass. All the opponents are in awe at that moment.

DW6 Lu Bu deserves a mention. His story ends with him defeating a huge alliance of Wei, Wu, Shu, Yuans, Dong Zhuo AND the Yellow Turbans.

The eye escene is even more badass when you know whats hapen to the eye

At number 4, you missed out on putting that scene from Zhang Liao before Wu attacked Hefei in DW5

After he defeats Guan Yu , Guan Yu says take his head to Cao Cao, Xiahou Dun's response is: "I have no need of your head. Besides your beard is in the way." 😄 -DW8 Lu Bu campaing. Lu Bu's bad ending. Cao Cao cuts Lu Bu's head. -DW7 Hu Lao Gate Wu side. Lu Bu jumps from wall with Red Hare -DW8 Jin hypothetical route final conflict at Chi Bi. Jiang Wei blabbers about benovelence and Sima Yi and his sons calls him imbecile 😄 -DW7 and 8 Guan Yu's death in Wei story. -DW8 Wei story Hu Lao Gate. Dian Wei stops Lu Bu. -DW7 Death of Dian Wei. -DW8 Battle of Tong Gate. Xu Zhu stops Ma Chao. -DW7 Zhang Liao being awesome in He Fei -DW7 Zhang Liao being awesome in Changban

I have been looking for a game that I remember playing on PS2 exactly like dynasty warriors style but the Characters models are chibi and you play as a group of characters they keep following you and fight along with you. It has been literally years and I still didn't find the name of that game... please does anyone know ?
