Another point to take into account; What we largely consider black culture today is really just southern poor white culture. (Think about it, poor black culture contracted alot of these habits from their closest counterparts in the white culture: The southern poor whites. To be fair to our white brothers also stricken with poverty, all of these habits are coping mechanisms offered by the elitists and industrialists. So as we became friends with them, we also started getting their bad habits and their coping mechanisms.)
