• After completing Andy Frisella’s 75 Hard program and seeing the life changing results that came from it, it was only natural to keep things going by doing the entire Live Hard program, starting with Phase 1.
75 Hard is the prerequisite for a larger mental toughness program called Live Hard. In this podcast episode, Rob Cressy is joined by his accountability partner Brendan Pettit as they share their Phase 1 of Live Hard experience and tips to sharpen your mindset.
•What was their mindset like for this 30 day phase compared to when they were doing 75 Hard?
•What were the challenges they encountered and how did they overcome them?
•What were the benefits of Phase 1 of Live Hard?
•What was it like taking a cold shower for 5 minutes every day?
•How important was their routine to completing the challenge?
If you are interested in becoming the best version of yourself then this episode will share the habits, routines, and lessons learned from our Phase 1 of Live Hard experience.
I also created a blog post that share my Live Hard Phase 1 experience plus gives more tips: robcressy.com/phase-1-live-hard/
As part of Phase 1 of the Live Hard program, every day for 30 days you do these 8 tasks with zero compromise.
• Workout twice a day: 45 minute indoor workout, 45 minute outdoor workout. You can choose whatever fitness program or workouts you want.
• Follow a diet with no cheat meals and no alcohol. You get to create the diet for yourself.
• Read 10 pages of a personal development or non-fiction book. Something that makes you better. Note: Audiobooks do not count.
• Drink a gallon of water.
• Take a progress picture every single day.
• Take a 5 minute cold shower.
• Add 3 critical power list tasks (in addition to your 5 normal power list tasks).
• 10 minutes of dedicated visualization.
Note: when I completed Phase 1 Andy Frisella had very little content or details out about the program. Over the last few years he has added more specificity and content to the program that didn't exist when I did it. I point this out to save anyone who says "you created your own version" or "you didn't do it correctly". The program has evolved. I paid my dues every day and I am proud of it.

I just finished 75 hard. The two big things I learned is #1 you have to plan out your week and stick to your schedule. Otherwise you will be up all night working out and drinking water. #2 the only real way to make a large change in your life is to change your identity or how you view yourself. 75 hard is an identity. If I walk into a real estate conference and they are offering alcohol, unhealthy foods, etc it's not an option for me because I'm doing 75 hard. My willpower doesn't matter because my identity is I'm completing 75 hard so the unhealthy foods aren't an option. If I was going by willpower alone you will fail. Great video!

Loved the podcast! I do need some clarification- I did 75 hard, just completed it, and I’m three days into phase 1. But I don’t understand what the power list is. It wasn’t part of 75 hard, and now on the app it says 8 critical tasks. But in your podcast and Andy’s, he says do 5 critical tasks. Then he says 3 critical tasks. I legitimately don’t know how many critical tasks to do. Can you help me understand?

Great to hear from you Alan. The answer is with Phase 1 you do 8 critical tasks. Your usual 5 from your power list AND an additional 3 tasks. So the power list (from a foundation standpoint) is 5 critical tasks every day. Phase 1 tasks it to the next level by adding on 3 more. This shows you how much more potential you have. Make sense?
