This do really makes sense, even facts that are against Yuri having a daughter could be avoided: Yuriko's surname could be her mother's (Maybe Yuri wanted to hide the fact he has a daughter?) Well actually, from a Japanese language aspect... Yuriko does NOT mean child of yuri. It actually means "Lily" (as in, the flower), plus a female name suffix. There are REAL world female individuals named Yuriko, although they should all in their late 70s or even 80s by now (i.e. this name is very outdated). I can see that Yuriko is definitely "backstage-ish" (i.e. in terms of game development) related to Yuri, but that's different from "storywise-related". Japanese women also have the tendency to put great respect to their husbands' background, so it's a bit difficult for me to imagine Yuriko having a Russian dad without being able to speak a single Russian. For example, Admiral Harry Harris Jr (of the USN) has a Japanese mother (Fumiko Harris, nee Ohno, who met Harry Sr during post war occupation of Japan). She insisted to make her son "100% American" and refused to teach him Japanese. This is very typical for Japanese women with foreign husbands. They would usually make their children bear some, if not most, traces from their respective father's background. I always thought Yuri would still be a major part in the Soviet faction since the only thing removed from history is Einstein. Stalin still had interest in the psi corps. Without Einstein the allies never had a way to imprison Yuri if they won. It just seems like they wanted to write him out. The actor who portrayed Yuri may not of wanted to reprise his role.

My Theory as to what happened to Yuri in the RA3 Timeline is that he sensed what Premier Cherdenko and General Krukov were planning against the enstated Romanov, and considering that he was the closest advisor to Romanov he feared he'd be targeted in their takeover and given he still hadn't gathered his own Epsilon Army he would have faked his death to BA able to continue his pupeteering from behind the scenes, now unnoticed thanks to everyone thinking he is dead. Sorry, but there is a big BIG mistake in the part about names, Russian form of name Alexis is Alexey, and it can be only a male name. Full russian names are divided strictly between male and female. There is no way Alexis can be girl's name. And the name Yuriko is just a usual Japanese female name, The connection to Yuri is more an easter egg.

Fiction is rife with examples of metahumans who are the children of other metahumans but do not share identical versions of their powers. Also if you want to get real she can't mind control people because that mechanic was totally broken in RA2 and allowed you to win games without even mining because you just set up MC towers and feed all their units into the grinder.

honestly the timeline doesnt seem to make sense to me for ra2 and ra3. When the soviets used the time machine in ra3 they were about to be overrun at the kremlin but in ra2 in the base game the allies had already captured moscow forcing the soviets to surrender and in yuris revenge while we dont know exactly how the soviets lost they did surrender early on and the allied general went on several more missions against yuris forces with the unknown timeshift occuring shortly after capturing yuri.
