Thanks for the memories, I'm back at university, smell of new vinyl, thinking of Ian Curtis, nearly in tears, blown away by this entire LP, even today it evokes a certain melancholy. One Love.

There's something to be said for how a song can reach into your chest and pull something out of you, or put something in... even without lyrics.

Watched Peter Hook play this live last night. It was quite haunting but really something else to watch.

@SeldomAthleticFC ... I was there! Unfortunately I missed that because my friends "had" to leave. I was so mad when I found out they came back on. This is my favorite song of their by far.

@code3racing They did the same at Birmingham Tower Ballroom back in the 80's. Everybody had left and then we found out the following day that they had played a 40 minute set to the two cleaners - it was, apparently, a barnstorming effort. The 5,000 of us who saw the first 40 minutes were merely the warm up crowd.

Nessa segunda parte, a guitarra de Bernard Sumner consegue criar um clima que lembra "Era Uma Vez no Oeste", de Sergio Leone.

I first heard this on an episode of CSI. Doesn't anyone else think that some inspiration of this had to be from Ennio Morricone's work in Once Upon A Time in the West?

You know, I hear this song, and you know that image comes to me? Picture the end of a movie: a couple waltzing, sadly but lovingly, in the midst of nuclear fallout. They look into each-other's eyes as the radioactive ash falls upon them, burning the life out of them, knowing that their world is coming to an end, but also that their love will be eternal. How about you?

Ahh. I just asked because I was curious. This song is great an all, I finding relaxing and eriee(sorry for my spelling) at the same time. Thank you. It just the first time I heard it I was expecting lyrics that dealt with Ian Curtis.

_____Well... In the story I imagine from this tune, the nuclear apocalyptic war's happened centuries ago, but it's not on THIS version of Earth. It's some kinda parallel universe where scattered bands of people have got high tech, but most of the land is overrun by tribes mutants, monsters, and malformed animals. It's sunset, the main hero is doin' battle with some warlord with one hand that's cyborg-metal atop a castle big as a mountain--it's the guitars mixed with medieval flutes, I say!
