Acrylic Pouring Blooms Technique Inspirational Tutorial Video.
paint pouring, the painted dreamer, abstract fluid art, shelee art style, no silicone, fluid acrylics, acrylic pouring techniques, fluid art tutorials, abstract acrylic pouring Art, Pour Painting, fluid painting, house paint art, swipes, blooms
In this video I’m showing you how I mix up both the Infinity/Jo Sonja PM and the Behr/Infinity/Jo Sonja PM as well as mixing up paints with each pouring medium mix. I hope this video is helpful for you and you enjoy watching this half as much as I enjoyed creating it! 😊 Thanks so much for watching! ❤️❤️
A lot of what you see being created on my channel when ready will end up in my Etsy store. Some pieces if they translate well to digital will also make it to my RedBubble and Society6 shops so if you see a design you like please check out my links below.👇🏻😊💜

PM to Paint measurement (estimate):
1.5oz (45ml) PM to between 1/4 tsp (1.25ml) to a 1/2 tsp (2.5ml) paint to start. If too thin add a little more paint (or even a gel gloss), if too thick add a little more PM to thin more.

Thank you so much for sharing all the details. I haven't tried an acrylic pour yet, but this video provides a great base of knowledge to get started. It's also wonderful to have information to help when there are limited things to get started. Your videos are inspiring and educational. You could obviously make money by selling tutorials, but it says a lot that you shared all this so freely. Keep up the beautiful workmanship!

You’re welcome Catherine, I’m glad it helped 🤗. I’ve been to the keys many times when I lived down there so I understand the scarcity of those stores on that stretch! There’s a lot of other bases that will work just as well besides what I have tested here but as long as you can understand the concept you can make a lot of things work. Have fun! 💜💜

NOTE: If you can’t find these brands or are in a different country the components you want are an untinted base house paint (base c or d, base 3 or 4 whichever is lowest, deep base or ultra deep base or neutral base) plus a water based polyurethane gloss varnish to make up your Pouring Medium. If you want to try a more traditional pouring medium base because you can’t get certain components, TOTALLY go for it and give it a try 😃 it’s YOUR Art after all! 💜 Another Note: You don't have to use the Behr in this mix you can totally just use the Infinity with the Jo Sonja Varnish at 4:1. You could also just use the Behr as well but it can get very slippery by itself and weird out your cells which is why I would use another untinted base with it to cut down on the meandering ways the Behr can be.

@@liletteautrey8481 The first in the series (ABC or 123 etc) would be for your pillow paint as that will have the most titanium in it. It will usually also say white on the can. I got the Glidden semi gloss when u opened it, it was soooo thick and clumpy. I stirred it up alot. I can I make my consistency smoother?
@ThePaintedDreamer
@ThePaintedDreamer 3 жыл бұрын
Sometimes it just needs to be stirred until your arm falls off, no joke, it depends how long it’s been sitting on the shelf. Some of the cans separate so much you feel like they will never incorporate. It should be running off your stick smooth and not clumpy at all. If after incorporating the can it’s still clumpy take it back, the can or batch is bad. I had this happen with a brand from Lowe’s. I took it back and went to a different Lowe’s for another can. It did the same thing so I think it was just that paint. Glidden Premium shouldn’t be clumpy.

Hi Jody, thanks for sharing! It was a great help. The EU - where I live - is not really a “somewhere isolated island”, but most of the SheleeArt technic ingrediences are not available here. Don’t know why, but I think it has something to do with enviromental laws or restrictions. A satin Base C house paint i.e. is nowhere for sale, but I did find a Base C mat to experiment with. But buying Minwax or other components, thru Amazon costs a fortune and forever to get here from the other side of the pond or from Australia. But I did manage to get my hands on a JoSonja PU varnish. So I’m still not giving up and will keep experimenting with the paints they do sell here in Holland! Thanks for your help so far!

Thank you for taking into consideration that everyone doesn’t have the same resources to choose from nor the same funds available. Also, the measurement statement not to mix by weight was so helpful because on other types of pouring I’ve seen lots of videos that say mix by weight. Of course there are others that say, just eye ball it. That is scary to me! My judgment is not fail proof, nor are all of my containers all the same. So many variables for various techniques. So, all information distinctions are great. Thanks.

Do you use Amsterdam oxide black alone as cell activator? Or do i have to add flowtroll? What's the best way to do it?
@ThePaintedDreamer
@ThePaintedDreamer 2 жыл бұрын
For your cell activator with the blooms you typically want to use floetrol with the Amsterdam paint. The Australian floetrol is the magic sauce but the US floetrol can work with some additions. I did a video recently where I put both my US Floetrol cell activators head to head. Having said that if you are up to experimenting, I know some that have used Amsterdam paint and water and have been able to use that as a cell activator. I’ve not tried this so I don’t know how well it works but if you want to give that a go too 😃🤗💜

Thanks so much Consuelo! To answer your question I have love/hate with the Behr. It is the clearest untinted paint ever however it is hard to work with by itself so I add a little bit of in to thicken paints up and use it in combo with other bases to get the benefit of it. You absolutely don’t have to use it. I really like the Infinity by itself but if my paints are a bit thin I’ll add in a little Behr to thicken them up. 😊

Hi Jodi! Thanks for this awesome tutorial! You strike me as having a very analytic mind, so was wondering if you have done an analysis on the function of all there chemicals, and what they do? Basically the science of what they do. It might be too involved but it is easy to get confused as a paint pouring wannabe. There definitely is a science to which properties need to be added in. KZfaq artists all seem to use different recipes of the same chemicals, so you have gone above and beyond explaining this for the bloom which you have perfected. Thanks again for an awesome presentation! Susi from Florida 🥰
