She’s 💯 right, we know our bodies! Doctors don’t listen. They brush you off until you keep pressing, and even then they want to pass you off on to someone else. And then a huge problem on top of that is you can’t get an appointment right away with a specialist or to get a test done. The first available appointments for those things are 3-6 months out. It’s no wonder so many people are being diagnosed with late stage cancer. It’s horrible and it needs to change!

Yes! My daughter almost had to threaten the dr before he’d order blood work for my son in law. He was finally diagnosed with advanced, aggressive multiple myeloma. We are thanking God every day that he has responded well to his treatment and is doing really well.

Another reminder to be your own advocate. You know your body better than anyone. Keep going to doctors and press for answers. Never mind if they think you’re a pain, you must keep going!

My mother at 78 had recurring what they kept saying were UTI'S for two years. I had her switch to my gynecologist and they did ultrasound and found slight thickening of endometrium. She had a heavy discharge while walking around at Walmart in May. Had a second ultrasound end of June. I asked them to do a CA-125 test and was very high. Appt made to see a gynecological oncologist. Did a hysterectomy and found cancer was in the first layer. It was caught early enough she didn't get chemo or radiation. Be persistent Ladies.

I'm so glad you pushed for an answer. I had endometrial cancer too, 17 years ago at the age of 47, and I'm sure my primary doctor thought I was being very pushy. I've worked in healthcare for 30 years and I knew even then how often people fall through the cracks! And it's 100% true that things are often blamed on being overweight!

Similar happened to my mum, during Covid. Doctor wouldn’t come and see her and kept treating her for UTIs. We ended up calling her and ambulance and she died in the hospital after three weeks. She had cancer all over. And we couldn’t advocate for her in hospital as we weren’t allowed to visit until she was diagnosed a few days before she died.. very traumatic experience . On TV in the UK they’re always going on about getting an early diagnosis and getting checked, but it’s all tick box exercise, because in reality they don’t care.

My mom had breast cancer, she was diagnosed in her home country, doctor overseas advised her to have surgery as soon as she returns to the state. She came back following up with her gynecologist and told him about what the doctors oversea said (she even had ultrasounds and memogram to show him) he just did a exam by hand and said to her he cant feel anything. I was so mad and I had to step in and eventually had the doctor to order a test here to confirm and it was cancer! I understand how you feel…Im so mad! Sorry for what you are going through, hope fast recovery for you!

Thank you for posting Ellen’s story. I was told two years ago, after a pelvic ultrasound, to go to a gynecologist for an endometrial biopsy. The results came back insufficient samples so doc wanted to perform a hysteroscopy. I had just lost my daughter and was in a tremendous grief. A couple months ago, I noticed some odd symptoms, a pressure in my pelvis and pain. Repeat of pelvic ultrasound shows an enlarged endometrial stripe (9 mm) and heterogeneous margins of endometrium and myometrium. I’m having a D&C in two weeks. Ellen’s video helped me and though I don’t know my outcome yet, I feel better prepared for what may come. Thank you.

She is so inspiring. She’s making me realize how I need to make sure my doctors listen to me and if they don’t, find one that does. Im post menopausal and didn’t think I needed to see a gyno but I see I do.

In all seriousness my 6 year old cat was diagnosed faster with cancer then most people.

I’m so sorry that happened to you, I have a similar story. I was told mine was multiplayer things, asthma, anxiety, over dieting, grief (I was a cared for my nana the last 18 months of her live and she died six weeks before I was finally diagnosed, she died Boxing Day 2010 and I was diagnosed Valentine’s Day 2011) and lastly I was told it was a chest infection. Finally I couldn’t even walk from my room to the toilet without fainting and my heart rate was over 299bpm. My nana had lung disease and had an at home pulse ox so my my mum put it on me and my blood oxygen saturation was only at 72%. We went to a and e and they did a chest x ray. Other than a fist size part of the lower lobe of my left lung, my chest cavity was completely full with large tumours, to the point they caused my right lung to collapse, as well as all the lymph nodes in my upper body being effected. It turned out to be Hodgkin’s lymphoma, I was only 14 but had been saying for nearly two years that something just wasn’t right with me and no one would believe me and thought I was just trying to get out of school, it wasn’t until I was close to having stage 3 cancer (it was bulky stage 2 cancer) and half dead that I was believed. I relapsed a 14 months after first diagnosis and only had a 50/50 chance and that the stem cell transplant I needed would leave me infertile, which was devastating to 16yo me who wanted kids more than anything. I’ll be 11 years cancer free on the 24th of September this year, and on the 19th of July 2021 I even had a miracle baby, between the chance of of getting pregnant (1%), and the high chance of not being able to carry to viability, so 22 weeks where I live (so 32%chance of being able to carry to 22 weeks) there was only a 0.32% chance of him ever being here. I’m so blessed. He turned 2 this week and is my world.

Why can’t doctors rule out serious conditions from the beginning? It would save so many lives.

This is so sad and fills me with anger! There have been SO MANY studies done that point out that women ARE NOT taken seriously by their doctors men doctors ESPECIALLY!!!! I hope and I pray for you that heal from that horrible disease! God bless you and your family. ❤❤❤❤

Your account is one of the clearest I’ve seen for this age group! A nurse navigator also shared the Claritin tip with me. Because this cancer has such a low profile, we need to take it seriously and have a gynecologist involved in our health because other providers just won’t know how a simple symptom can indicate we need further testing. For example, a discharge that seems like urine may not be urine and is reason enough to start the testing process for uterine cancer! Thank you so much for sharing your story and your faith ❤!

We have to advocate for ourselves because we do NOT all fit in a box!! I had Stage 1 endometrial cancer myself. I began bleeding after 2 years of my cycle ending. I was very lucky to have been referred to an OBGYN immediately- then to a OBGYN Oncologist. Full hysterectomy was the cure. I had suffered endometriosis my whole life and it was as if my parts expired. This was also in August 2020…

I think it is unusual to be diagnosed early in a cancer journey. Many doctors just don’t listen or either we are unable to properly explain our symptoms. Thanks for sharing your story, and best wishes for continued good health.

Thank you for this. I do want to mention for any young women to make sure you go to a gynecologist if you have any symptoms, no matter how trivial, even if you are not having sexual relations. My daughter had stage 1a ovarian cancer at 31. Minor symptoms, major surgery and now constant monitoring. Listen to your body. She is doing well, with a baby now. Best of luck. Be strong.

I am married to a doctor but he listens. When i go to doctors they dismiss women really quickly.

I'm postmenopausal and there was a small amount of blood in my urine one night. Got in right away and was diagnosed with uterine cancer. Luckily caught it early. No chemo, but had radical hysterectomy. Always be your own advocate and push for what you want. Do not delay getting medical help. Sooner you get treatment, the better your chances. I'm now over 5yrs out and so far so good.

I was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer and knew very little about it. Thankyou for being so brave sharing your story and creating awarness about this type of cancer. We hear so little about it, more information about symptoms which if are caught early on can cure E.C. as it is very slow growing. Any sign of spotting, bleeding or unusual discharge should be investigated no matter how insignificant you think it is. It is not normal to bleed after menopause in my case 5 years. Younger women can also get E.C., irregular bleeding, heavy periods, should NOT BE IGNORED and require further investigation. Women really need to be their own best advocate. Thank God you made this video …… it really breaks my heart that no doctor listened to you from the beginning because if they did you wanted have to suffer as much as you did 😢. And I HATE when doctors tell a person just to lose some weight and the problem would go away a person knows their body the best 😢 skinny people have medical problems too . Thank you for sharing your story. Going through almost identical symptoms and diagnosis for the past year. Also was told to lose weight , family Dr wanted me to go to a pain clinic. I did not. .Have been to GI, Urology. Was given antibiotics for UTI. On third vaginal ultrasound showed endometrial thickening, hyperplasia and polyp. I was sent to gyno oncologist 2 weeks ago, unable to perform endometrial biopsy due to scar tisse of the cervix due to aggressive surgeries to remove pre cancerous cells since 2018. The oncologist has scheduled radical hysterectomy scheduled September 12th. Im 51, been in menopause since 2019. Many blessings to you.

I have a GP who is taking me far more seriously than the gynaecologist I used to have, ever did. I think it’s just the individual, not necessarily the credentials. Thank you for telling your story and way to go, you strong, brave, brilliant woman!

Im so sorry you went through that merry go round with your doctors. Lets face it...some of them don't listen and they run you out of an appointment so fast. Its discouraging to say the least.

Back in 2019 I attended a funeral for my cousin she had died three hours after her biopsy. Within 3 months I did not feel well and I had to ask the doctor to do a blood workup and all the rest. My doctor did it all and it came back that I was perfect on paper. But I was extremely tired. Don't get me wrong I have fibromyalgia and I've had chronic fatigue for a long time. This was a different kind of tired. So I asked him to send me for a low-density kascan on my lungs and sure enough I had lung cancer. I am so glad I listened to myself and my body. As I was 58 and know my own body as well. And knew something was wrong I had no cough I had none of those problems but I just was really really really tired. I ended up going to a very renowned cancer hospital. I had already seen one surgeon with a not-so-popular hospital. I wanted a second opinion so at this Cancer Specialists hospital they decided it wasn't cancer and made me wait another 6 months which answering allowed it to grow bigger. By the time I got a biopsy it was 1B. They took out the lower part of my right lung. I do regularly to get tested and I got told at December about a year-and-a-half later that I was cured. Six months later at another CAT scan and guess what I had a brand-new whole different type of lung cancer. There's like 20 different types of lung cancer. For that I radiation. It hasn't been a total of five years yet. The one thing I need to say is please women listen to your body's listen to yourself. Push the doctors to keep looking if you don't feel right. I was done that I was told that I was cured and then six months later I have another lung cancer that was different. So so far I've had two different types of lung cancer and I don't know if I will get a different kind. But what I can say is they are miracle workers what they can do today is mind-boggling. So don't be afraid look for it find it and get it out. And do yourself a favour start eating right

I heard a lot of stories in which the doctors messed up and didn't let their patients to be treated early. I am a very luck one. My doctor pushed me to get the diagnosis and saves my life! I am a patient in Pasadena Kaiser Permanente. The image of my mammogram caught my lymph nodes enlarged, so Kaiser called me and let me to go LA kaiser hospital to do ultrasound. The doctor of the ultrasound said it was fine. I was happy. However, my primary doctor in Pasadena Kaiser hospital called and asked me to meet her in her office. I went there and my doctor re-examed me. She decided to push me to do a biopsy. The result of biopsy showed I had lymphoma stage 4, but the cancer had not spread to bone marrow yet. I was got the treatment immediately. I love my doctor and I hope America has more doctors like my doctor.

This is so familiar to those of us who have doctors ignore us. And I understand what she is going through.

I saw just a small pink dot in my underwear the size of a hole punched out of paper to put it in a ring binder. It didn't happen every day. At first I thought it was a dye spot in my new underwear (bought at a big box store due to pandemic, only white was available ). I called my ob doc's office to get an appointment. The doctor called me back within 15 minutes to impress on me to come right away. She did a pelvic and said she wanted an ultrasound. I got the ultrasound and she wanted a biopsy. It was positive. Then I had to go to the onc gyn. From diagnosis to onc gyn was 24 hours and she wanted to operate the next day! I pushed it back a week. Had complete removal of all female organs. They caught it early. We must tell all the women we know, after menopause there should be NOTHING coming out of the vagina. I don't think I would have seen the dot if I had been wearing colored underwear. Also the diet we follow can help prevent cancer. Whole foods plant based no added oil, no added sugar, very limited salt. I now eat a pound a day of raw greens like kale, spinach, etc, a pound a day of cooked veggies, 3 servings of fresh fruit, 3 tablespoons freshly ground flax seed, green tea, onions, mushrooms, broccoli sprouts, berries, distilled water, tomato sauce, whole grains, walnuts ( small amount with greens), vinegar. I also make sure my vitamin D stays in range. I quit using all personal care products, no perfume, no air freshners, no toxic cleaning chenicals, etc. I hope what I'm doing will be enough so my uterine cancer never comes back. I've also been told weight loss is important because body fat makes estrogen and estrogen fueled my cancer. I exercise too. Recently I did Dr. Brooke Goldner's hypernutrition smoothie plan. It skyrocketted my energy. All the details are free on KZfaq. I also like Dr. John McDougal's free diet plan and free recipes on his website. It has been a journey. Thank you for posting your story. God bless everyone. PS. If you are going to have surgery, a shower chair is helpful. Can buy used sometimes and bleach it down. A hand held shower sprayer is also super useful. I was told nothing about how to cope after surgery. I couldn't pull up my underwear or get in pants for 1 month so muumuus, waterproof mattress pad and towels on chairs were a blessing. A walker helped me pull myself out of chairs and bed. Also watch a physical therapy video on youtube about how to move after hysterectomy. Practicing those techniques before surgery is helpful. God sustained me. He is an ever present help in times of trouble. If you haven't yet trusted God, call on the name of the Lord and give your life to Him. Jesus died on the cross to save us from the penalties of our sins and to restore our relationship with God. 🤗

I think this woman is so very strong, lovely too. She has a great, loving family and is so brave, ... AMAZING ! No words for these doctors!. She shouldn't blame herself for not seeing a gun.That was her primary doctors responsibility. These days they do basically NOTHING but send you to specialists anyway. Want to keep the focus on her faithful, great big heart 💜. May she have beautiful, healthy days ahead, spent peacefully with her family. We need to self educate and stand - up. She has taught her granddaughters very valuable lessons. Nothing but total respect. 💐💐💐

I’m so angry they tell patients to lose weight also. I believe it’s an excuse for their inadequacy. I was told to lose weight once for back pain and I’m 5’5 and weighed about 140 at the time . Of course I wanted to lose weight but I was working as a nurse and walking daily and using weights . I felt horrible. When I went to see the physical medicine specialist he was shocked I was told that and said my weight was normal. The damage they do is so irresponsible.

Speaking of targeting weight, my Dr had noted in reports borderline overweight, in a year I have been asking for help literally lost nearly 50% of myself, without changing anything, symptoms are worse still dragging their feet dropping the ball health care needs an overhaul Dr’s need to stop dismissing females and their health concerns it seems to be an issue every where it’s 2023 females deserve fair unbiased medical care

I have watched many but not all and always wondered if anyone would ever talk about their faith in God and how Jesus helped them on their journey...for myself i would never be able to make it without God's hand holding mine. Thankyou for all that you have said. I am in England but also had Endometrial cancer 3c a few years ago. A similar late diagnosis and pretty much the same treatment. Women do have to be their own advocates. I think my oncologist learnt to dread my appointments with all the questions I had! I changed lots of lifestyle choices afterwards such as diet but more than anything, like you, my faith and knowing so many were praying for me was very important. God bless you in your future days.

I can so relate to her story. My only symptom of endometrial cancer was post-menopausal vaginal bleeding. If you are experiencing this, it's not normal and needs to be checked by a doctor. Because I knew this, I got medical help (not easy during the pandemic) and was diagnosed as Stage 1, Grade 1. I only needed a radical hysterectomy. Bleeding could also be a sign of something benign like fibroids or a pre-cancerous condition that needs to be monitored. If you are premenopausal and you are noticing changes in your periods (heavier flows, bleeding in between periods), get them checked. Also, pap smears are designed to check for cervical cancer and not other gynecological cancers. If you notice changes in your body, get them checked even if your pap smear is good. At the time of my diagnosis, my pap's were only slightly abnormal. And, as so many other posters have said, self-advocate and don't be brushed off.

I just turned 60 in May . I started having UTI issues last summer. I hadn't had one in over 20yrs. Took antibiotics and it never felt like it was completely gone. I kept going back to my primary complaining that I still had a Uti. Each time the culture would come back with no infection. Dr would not send me to a urologist, she said she was able to treat me. In between all these appointments, occasionally I would indeed have a UTI. But only 2 times out of about 6 appointments. I was bloated, felt like I had to go potty non stop, all the signs of a uti. I finally just gave up and stopped going to my Dr. I still have days where I feel like I have a UTI. Today is one of those days! Hopefully I don't have cancer and my Dr ignored signs!! Your video popped up in my feed! Maybe it's a sign?

I'm so sorry that you're going through all of this.. I will not give excuses to doctors about being busy. It is their job to diagnose and treat. There is NO EXCUSE for not listening and being thorough. Wishing you all the best.

ALL of us know what a UTI feels like. I can't fathom being told being told you have a condition you know you don't have.

I am just potentially starting this journey. I’m 58 and have had some mild bleeding. I googled it and it said to call your doctor. They immediately scheduled an ultrasound. It showed my endometrium is 13mm thick. So now we are scheduling a D&C to do a biopsy. I am at increased risk for cancer, but I’m hoping that since I was proactive, that if it is cancer, it’ll be caught early. But I’m really hoping I don’t have cancer at all! We shall see.

Had to find other doctors. I had clear cell endometrial uterine cancer. Had a full hysterectomy. Got all cancers.

Such a frustrating story. It seems that doctors will send you on one wild goose chase after another before they will look at the most serious possibility…CANCER. Such a terrible waste of valuable time that could mean the difference between life and death, literally. I'm sorry Ellen and I hope more people hear your story. We absolutely need to advocate and fight for our health issues. I had breast cancer 11 years ago and if that hadn't shown up, I would possibly still be suffering from a diseased gallbladder. All I kept being told by my GP was I had GERD, to change my diet to Blane foods, and take heartburn meds. Anyways because an MRI ( full body scan ) was ordered to look closer at my breast cancer, it showed my gallbladder choke full of stones. My Cancer doctor said to me, you had been feeling really horrible for a long time ...Of course, the reports go back to your GP and all I was told is "Guess you really were sick" 😳I also suffer from Anxiety and panic attacks which IMO gives doctors the ( Out ) they want to not get deeper testing, etc.. to go onto the next poor person. 🤒🤕

I had garden-variety incontinence (used a pad) until I had a major stroke. Now it just pours out to the point where I have no quality of life. My bathroom is 6 feet from my bed and when I have to go, I go the INSTANT I feel the urge and still don't make it. I'm in pull-ups 24/7. I am going next week to a urology appointment. I already had endometriosis and a hysterectomy in 2002. I wish all the best for you -- please say a prayer for me.

I'm so glad you were proactive, I wish all the best for you and your health. I think they try and shame us by saying lose weight so well shut up and go away, you are a healthy looking woman anyway ! Yes, I put on a bit of weight after menopause and was told by my Dr I had constipation..eat more veg. I have a garden and I eat plenty of healthy veg every day and wholegrain etc. So a while later I ended up with a lump... Godbless you from NZ❤

I am sorry you had to undergo the uterine cancer fight. I too an an endometrial cancer survivor. My Mom died of uterine cancer 4 years before I was diagnosed. Why when a women has watery discharge and is 40 plus years old don’t they work you up for uterine cancer. I was stage 2B. The ultrasounds are a total waste of time and money. Women’s reproductive health needs less regulation by the US government too! Lymphedema is the worst and brachytherapy radiation was awful. Same thing happened to me a few years back was getting continuous uti and getting treatment and antibiotics for months.. Symptoms for uti finally stopped but I have severe menstrual pains and can feel a lump on my lower left abdomen, told the doctor but they couldn't find anything through my scans two years back when i first got my scan.. The lumpy feeling has now grown after a period of four years when i first felt it, haven't gone for scan because doctors have let me down despite so many checkups and telling the doctor that somethingis wrong with me. after watching this I will go again..

I qm a survivor of this for 6 years now. I had an unusual period after non for 20+ years. Told dr he sent me for a pap and i was at stage 1. Thank god it was caught early. Im sorry you didn't get the same help. Hope for your recovery from the evil that is cancer

Bless your heart. My sister has metastatic papillary serous carcinoma, Stage 3C. She’s gone through surgery, chemo, and radiation, but it has spread to four aortic lymph nodes. She starts immunotherapy (Keytruda and Lenvima) on 1/8 in Wilmington, NC. Good luck to you. You sound like such a sweet woman.

Absolutely correct when it comes to say Doc I don't feel right , and they say oh you look fine, or your to young for that, or lose weight , to feel better and last but not least, well your getting older everyone has aches and pains and as you get older your memory starts to go ! I get so infuriated , I know when my body feels different not quite right . So be a doc and do what you do.

I have had a nephrostomy for 6 months and have debilitating pain, I’m told it’s my new normal. I also have uti symptoms and kidney infections. But… it’s my new normal, what does that even mean? That happened too my Mom, they said it was a UTI.. in 2017 but turned out it was Bladder Cancer! She passed in 2021, from cancer and Covid..chemotherapy made it worse..when they found out it was already stage 4..sorry that happened too you. Thanks for sharing,

They thought it was a UTI numerous times and it was bladder cancer and because of the time not diagnosed, it was muscle invasive and I had to get my bladder removed.

I just had a total hysterectomy on July 3 I had cancer stage 1 grade 2 luckily the doctors found it on time. The bleeding wouldn’t stop my hemoglobin was low 5

I was so weak,barely eat. Brain fog. Finally after me fighting for a referral to the cancer center for two months. One symptom was extreme thick discharge,light to dark mild bleeding. I'm 64

Ive had severe severe uterine bleeding and all of these symptoms for years. Im 32 and i have a 2 year old baby. The ultrasound tech told me it was cancer and its been a year and im going to the gynecologist very soon. It is s slow process. Im sorry ma'am. 😢your story is sad

A lady in Nevada that I know was treated for bronkitis for a year before a doctor diagnosed lung cancer, she died days later.

I was diagnosed at 2021 with a cyst and Endometrial cancer. Was sent home from the first clinic at 59th st in Chicago.A real horror story came after.

So glad you made it through. Not until 7 min in do you mention pain…so helpful in these videos to be really specific about symptoms. Sounded like a clear discharge was the only symptom but then later you indirectly mention some pain on the left side but not where or much about what it felt like which could help others.

I had symptoms for 3 years but was told it was my pcos/weight. Luckily I was still grade 1 stage 1b but it’s just so easy to be fobbed off cos it’s not so widely known. Thanks for sharing this story. ❤ 🍑 🎗️

Hello. I'm a breast cancer survivor, 20 years, and I can tell you that I've been told so many times by different doctors the same thing about losing weight. It's a lazy and mean thing to say to try to make you feel bad. You did the right thing by never going back to that one. Good luck with your treatment and I hope you are feeling better.

They were treating you for UTI, did bloodwork reveal an infection? How did they justify prescribing antibiotics?

I am postmenopausal and had brown/black stains on my pads (18mths) . Went for an ultrasound (5th may) and they saw thickness of 11mm. Had to then wait until 29th may for history, biopsy and transvaginal ultrasound. The only thing they managed was the transvaginal and they said the endometrium thickness now 12.6mm and a polyp. As of today 21 July 2023, ave to be put to sleep for the biopsy ,due to other health conditions it's a major procedure. Spoke to my consultants secretary and due to not having enough theatres and time tables, they are looking at September for my biopsy.... I wish you all the luck in the world,thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your story 💜💜

Thank you so very much for sharing your journey,as I was listening to you I went through the same thing only I had a hernia that was causing me to be very sick for months my doctor told me the same thing about my weight, this went on for a year until my symptoms symptoms was getting worse and of course I had to stand up for myself and a few days later I had surgery in a nick of time I had grown an ulcer that was infected and so much was going on I thank God every day that I am still here.
