@@smokersclub7571 I think it has to do with coaching. Last year you saw he was god awful in the first 8 and the back 8 was top 15. I think he just didn’t know the plays plus having a rookie wr corps with the most drops in the nfl doesn’t help. A lot of interceptions were tipped. Don’t get me wrong he had a lot of bad throws that were interceptions aswell. I think he definitely needed to put more time in last year but from the sound of it he put the time in this year just got coaches that hate him.
@ironictoday6192
@ironictoday6192 2 жыл бұрын
Coaching does have a role but there is also another freakish element to Herbert. He's had different coaches in consecutive years since he was a junior in college - and - he has no party life and lives and breathes football. He studies constantly - and when he was interviewed by Dan Patrick - (and not Colin Cowherd which I wrongly stated. Thanks for the save, @Michael Collado !) - Herbert was a little embarrassed when he said he doesn't hang with the LA night scene and prefers being at the training center one hour south studying plays and film. Patrick called him a nerd (in a nice way) and he kind of rolled with it. During post-game pressers he'll give stock answers and is modest - but then suddenly he'll answer with an element of technicality when he explains how, for example, he'll stand over center and look at different personnel groupings from the defense and tries to figure out if they're going to cause trouble. Another thing - the guy does not visit social media except to push his fav causes. He's not critical of it, he just shrugs and smiles which suggests he doesn't care.

Here to admit the same. I had Dwayne Haskins leagues above this man. Watching the film, Dwayne had darn near twice the arm talent. Now I'll say that I feel like Washington destroyed Haskins career and I hope he gets a chance to show why he was so highly touted at coming out of osu to Pittsburgh at some point in the future. Thats a good situation for him to keep his head down and really learn how to be an nfl qb. But seeing herbert come in and not just manage the game in a pretty damn high powered offense, but be the driving force behind it was definitely surprising. The difference is really obvious when the receivers are carrying a qb and when a qb is squeezing every drop of juice out of an offense. Justin is definitely the latter.

@@chrisbruchak4519 Haskins destroyed his own career I'd say with his laziness. And watching the film, I'd also disagree honestly with the arm talent statement. Herbert definitely had more zip, just accuracy issues that were ironed out in the NFL. Haskins threw a wobbly ball in college, I'd say his production was a product of the OSU offense and not him.
