I loved hearing Lisa talk about Micke ❤️‍🩹 I'm sober and I really really loved the way they portrayed Micke's struggle and relapse. I've relapsed in my years in sobriety and l felt like the storyline was handled with care. Also love what you said about being good at heart but doing bad things. I also loved hearing Lisa talk about Rosh and Ayub ❤ I want so much more of them too! Bjärstad spin off is on my wishlist Also loved hearing Lisa talk about the birthday dinner. It's actually one of my favorite scene in the series. It's just so impactful. I loved hearing her talking about generational trauma. The insight really showed through the scene ❤️‍🩹 It's also so interesting hearing about the focus of script writing and what goes into scenes. Great interview ❤ can't wait for part 3 and also can wait because it's the last part 🙈

Thank you again Chloe. I really appreciate that you asked her questions about so many specific scenes and that she answered them. It's so fascinating to see what an artist means by their art, and compare and contrast it with the audience's view of it. Sometimes there's alignment, and sometimes we take something different from it depending on our own lived experiences.

First of all, thanks for the interview! As always - very insightful! Aaah, the birthday scene..... I have such mixed feelings about it... Generally I love Simons's character - he's very loving and above all brave. He is so "straight"... in the meaning that he doesn't let himself deter from what he thinks is right. The birthday scene is another great example of that. Even though it's Wille's birthday, even though he knows that Wille is having a hard time, Simon is still able to see the wrongness of Wille's situation and is still able to be honest about what he feels and thinks what is the right thing to do - which is to break up (shocking!!!). And the way he does it is so loving. No screaming, no blaming or shaming. (He reacted the same way in 1st season when Wille came to talk to him after his speech of not being him in the leaked video, by the way.) I love him for this. At the same time, this birthday scene makes me also so angry. It just doesn't feel right that Simon doesn't know what Wille has to deal with, that he's struggling with breathing, that he throws up, that his relationship with his parents is basically non-existing, how lonely, scared and angry he is. When Wille lost it on his birthday and layed it all out in front of Simon I was thinking that now - finally! - Simon gets to see and understand it all. And what did Simon do? He said it feels like Wille turned into somebody else, he freaks out and ...freaking... leaves! He didn't even try to comfort him... 😢Of course it looks to him like Wille is a different person - because Wille did not show him this side of his life so far! And it feels like Simon could never accept this part of Wille's life and his circumstances. He himself says so much in season 2 in the shower room... Honestly, I don't know what to think of this... It makes me worry if they will ever really be able to be together if Simon is not accepting of Wille's background... Love this show so much! It makes me think a lot 😅

Hehe I love hearing Lisa's perspective, on Fredericka and Stella becoming serious partners and being queer aunties and arts patrons.. that's so believable that they'd end up as some kind of posh power couple 😊😂❤

So fascinating to hear how micke embodies shame, representing shame of the whole story, on so many levels reflected back from all sides.. despite all the love we eventually understand, from all the characters he is the antithesis of their hopes or internalised pain about their own lives, so even though each of them carries their own valid shame, in the story he is the only one that truely expresses it and grapples with it, as adults do and teenagers dont always yet.. how adults have to face the idealism of life hasn't worked out, in the way that younger people haven't had to face yet, but also how so many neuro divergent people with the extent of their innate innocence and purity of spirit often end up reflecting the trauma and shame of society as it carries on their shoulders of not fitting in to the charade and having so much more integrity than most and carrying the burden of what to do with that.. and often it is reflected in self medicate in addictions I do really love that we see as Simon is slowly accepting Sara, she is also slowly accepting her dad for who he is, herself for who she is, and the dysfunction and consequences of everything for their family, and through accepting, coming to the point of accepting the overall dysfunction and that despite that accepting the love too, the worthiness of being together too, that imperfection doesn't mean family cant exist or isnt valid even when it hurts. There is something so freeing about understanding that as a young person or at any stage into adulthood because sometimes it takes years to truly become so humble and let go of the harshness that protects someone from the harshness they've experienced from life. I'm so glad they all soften a bit There are no excuses made. Just gradual understanding. The best. It's a much more realistic way to show what forgiveness can go like ❤

@@elspethfougere9683 so brilliantly put. Thanks for writing this. Accepting the imperfections of a loved one also feels like self-love. Also, being able to manage your expectations of a person feels protecting yourself. It's not a decision that suits every situation similar to the Eriksson kids and their dad, but I love that Young Royals showed, as you said, a more realistic was of what forgiveness can look like.
