Thanks for this review, I looked at several RC boat videos today and then ordered this boat. This will be my first RC vehicle since I was a kid and by first boat ever. Now that I'm in my 50s..........You know what, let's say 40s, I was looking for a new hobby and you were very helpful. Thank you both for all your videos.

Years ago I used to race nitro versions of these tunnel hulls. Really fast and fun to drive. Nice to see these in brushless. No more paddling (or swimming) out to retrieve a boat with a stalled motor. Great review!

The WLtoys WL915 is hands down the best of "boat week." The turning outboard adds realism!

That is an AWESOME little boat! Fast, good handling, brushless, inexpensive, and that self-righting feature is absolutely fantastic! Such a simple way to self-right. Imma do that design on any boat I build now!

I've always had a desire to own something like this less expensive, as a boy growing up in Detroit me and my father would attend the hydroplane races every year, when I finally convinced him to buy me one of the earlier models of RC boats, reality crept in, when we finally realized how much they cost even on the low end, needless to say, never got my hydroplane boat, but settled for an RC boat, modeled after a Coast Guard cutter, in which I had seen stationed on Belle Isle.

Tunnel huls are my favorite style of boat. They do run like they are on rails. And look really cool too. There used to be some nitro ones with real outboard engines

I had one similar to that back in the 80's but it was a Dumas and made from lite-plywood and had a real glow engine outboard on it and it just screamed!

When I was younger, my dad used to take me down to the Hydroplane boat races...basically, the full-scale version of what you were running today. And like your boat, they were not very good in the turn, but like a road-runner on the straights. It's the design of that type of boat that gives it the speed. But as you noticed, anything other than perfectly flat water easily launches them into the air. It's worth a gaze at the Hydroplane (boat) article on Wikipedia.

Nice run guys. Really approve of you letting that spectator drive your boat. I live less than a 15 minute walk from a lake (and a 15 minute drive to an even bigger one) and have yet to get an RC boat. I think that what is holding me back is a fear of the boat getting out of range and then my not being able to get the boat back to shore. I think I need to wait for a model with a GPS fencing feature like you find on some RC Airplanes. Weak signal or low battery and the boat automatically heads home.

Just bought 2 of them for my wife and I to play with on lake Winnebago in Fond du lac Wi can't wait to see them flying around the water!

I can't believe how far batteries have come. As a kid in the 70s, even the non rechargeables would last a fraction of this long while putting out that much power!

I remember the days when you had to have a flag on your antenna with your channel you were using and you had to check in with the master at the hobby airport and register your craft. how things have changed love this boat I can't believe how cheap it is

I keep bits of sponge in mine to absorb any small amounts of water just to keep it from splashing around. Great video, you guys are awesome.

Off topic for this video but just wanted to update you on the Boeing 787 $40 model. There is an acro mode that allows you to loop it and fly inverted. You still cant roll it but that's amazing. On the top right side of the transmitter is a button that when pressed puts you in the acro mode. Try it, it's a kick.

Yes wl toys be makin some sweet water craft, I use to race Nitro all out namba regulated hull to hull action, but these things. They rip pretty good, I jave to say. Low stress high fun is the way of the day for me these days and Im liking these little boats. Besides when you have a winning set up trimmed our sanctioned boat ,you cant play with boat built for racing , these boats are for having fun, hand off youre transmitter at the lake some time and youll see what I mean.😁 Nate good job , nice taste, good quality,thanks, peace to all.

this one is fast...that new version you ran that was orange was not even close... this one i would buy and could enjoy it ..to bad they don't use same combo in the new version.

I've had one of these for a while, its awesome, dont forget to grease the flexshaft often UK
