How much does our homestead cost? Do we have dads?! These are a few of the spicy questions we get on a daily basis, and today we decided to take a much needed change of pace to answer some of these questions. From how we afford updates to the cabin, to whether or not we want to get pregnant/have children, to how we first came out to our parents, these are some of the spiciest questions we get asked. And as if the questions weren't spicy enough, we put ourselves to a little spicy food challenge and ate hot foods while doing it, so we weren't just feeling these questions in our heart and souls, but in our nervous system! Is that where you feel spicy foods? Someone please comment below! A few other questions we cover in this video: where was our first date? Why did we choose a van? And what are some of our favorite KZfaq channels (Hello ‪@ryan‬ if you're seeing this)! Is there anything you've been itching to ask us that we haven't covered? Comment below, maybe we'll use "likes" on comments as a voting system!

Our Journey! How did we get here?
In the winter of 2019 we moved in to our self built van full time to begin living, working and travelling Canada. We quickly fell in love with chasing our dreams of adventuring off the beaten path, living off grid and being self sustaining. We drove our van thousands of miles through various countries-Canada, USA, Mexico & Guatemala. All of which we documented here on our channel, be sure to check that out! After many years on the open road we found ourselves 15 acres of remote woods on the East Coast of Canada where we are building a homestead and renovating our fully off the grid cabin. We are diving into this chapter of our lives in no experience, we're so happy we can bring you all along as we learn to do it all with our own two hands. Thank you for being here with us for cabin life, van life and all the in between!

I am a retired Custom Home Builder, and met you while watching Eamon and Beck, and Max and Occy. I have not missed any since then. I have a great deal of respect for both of you. As a retired contractor, I love your work ethic, and the way you tackle projects, and the attitude you take when doing a project. I don't think we ever had any employees with your attitude and ability to figure out and complete a project. Not only that , but your personalities, and love for each other and for the work you are doing on the Cabin, and on the Videos you make (which I love) is truly inspiring . I did not lose my parents at a young age, but lost a younger Sister, and my Wife in a very short period of time years ago, so respect what you have done with your lives after unusual childhoods. I look forward to your videos every week and they never fail to bring e joy. I was surprised to hear that you weren't married, but your love for each other is obvious, and as a non betting man, I would bet on your getting married in the future. I just want to thank you for being a bright spot in my life. Many, Many People your age in the United States, have dropped out of just about everything. Thanks again and continue to do great work.

Thank you for being so forthcoming. Never talk about any details that cause you embarrassment, emotional pain, or reveal more than anyone else needs to know. Why? You do not have to explain yourself to anyone. Your warmth, humor, intellect, courage to try new things, kindness to each other and so generous with sharing the good, the bad and the ugly with all of us is so welcome. I love that you try and fail and do not behave like a rotten spoiled brat because it didn’t work out! What an example of good heartedness you both are. Genuine. That is a awesome description .

As time passes you do start to forget what their voices sounded like etc. I’m Just thankful my dad had taken so many videos with us it allows me to kinda refresh my memories. I have always been amazed and enamored by both of you and your incredible personalities, but today's segment brought it home for me. I just lost my dad less than a year ago and my mom 4 years. Your stories of love, adventure, and desire for a life that you two created on your own are amazing. I used to be someone different because of my business and 20+ years in the Marine Recon. Extremely structured and disciplined. Then one day I realized that my life was much more than it became and I realized that I should "Go where you're celebrated, not just needed by everyone else" as it was suggested by a close friend. That life is meant to be a constant adventure in order to grow. I'm proud of my past but more excited about the future. Both of you are beautiful, creative, and passionate people who prove on a daily basis that slow and steady doesn't just win the race... it allows you to create it. So in complete transparency from someone you don't know but watches and responds to you every week, your adventures were the catalyst for my decision to buy up acreage outside of Sedona Arizona, build a ranch completely off the grid and be happy and thrive. Best decision I ever made. You two are the best. Thank you for your inspiration. Until next week...be blessed. TJ & Loki 🐾

@Lori L. Mangold Thank you 😊 Loki is the Norse God of mischief, and he completely fits his name. The property is huge, and to the north, I have great distant views of the Sedona red rocks and snow-capped mountains to the north. I'm building a 3,500 sq/ft home with a separate barn for up to 10 horses. I just put in a well with tons of fresh water, septic system, and personality installed a PV/solar power system about twice the size of what the girls put in. With a degree in system engineering, that was pretty easy for me. Just time consuming and I needed a few extra hands. Waking up to the views and clean air makes it still feel like a dream. Be blessed. TJ & Loki 🐾
@JasonCarney.

@@tjmoss2832 Sounds like heaven. Especially once you get your horses. I grew up in Phoenix. My favorite escape the heat trip is hitting Flagstaff, hanging out for a while, then heading down Oak Creak Canyon before the sun goes down, taking in Oak Creek views, heading for dinner, then Oak Creek Brewery, then my hotel room. I never tire of this trip. Arizona has so many varying terrains, so finding new mountain bike spots is always a treat. Sedona really is a special place, the energy is very rich and unique. To be honest, I am glad property is out of reach for most people, price wise, as it keeps Sedona from growing, which would ruin it. Slide Rock has lost it's appeal since going full on touristy spot. Anyway, nice to chat up someone that is fortunate to live there and obviously appreciates all it has to offer.

Love you guys and love having you guys part of my Sunday routine! I know yall didn't ask, but it looks like your Monstera needs more humidity. This could be what's causing the browning on the edges of the leaves. If you put a tray with some rocks and put a little bit of water in it, then place the Monstera on top. This will provide the additional humidity it needs during winter time. Hope you have a wonderful week!

This was a lovely gift from you to your subscribers! You asked if it satisfied our curiosity. For me, yes. I’ve been watching you since the channel began. Along the line you have answer many of the questions but today was in much more detail and context. Also, the new ground of cabin life was very interesting and I thank you for those in depth answers. Musings: I’m happy that you talked about your editor. Most of the great channels I watch have editors. That is not to take away from the creators who do it all themselves. It is more to say that, for you two, having an editor frees you to keep making excellent content. Also, this video illustrates the beautiful dynamic, the love and the trust between the two of you. Not so much in words, but the visual representation of those human components.

Thank you both, always. Lost my mom when I was 13 and had a troubled home but gained strength and courage I might not have. Sweet Crystal had such a hard time accepting compliments. I finally wised up after13 years of waiting before we got married now celebrating 25 years next week. I am blessed. You both are real gems. We have a cabin in the woods too in Vermont but are not DIY the way you are. Much love from fellow earthlings. L&S

Another creative video from you two. Highlights: honesty, different segments, review snippets. I missed Bella and Izzy, but there was enough footage. Loved the photo of momager. I am a “motherless child” due to my mother’s mental illness. She was out of my life when I was 10 and I lived in institutions until I was 15. My dad brought us all back together-6 in all- and we basically raised ourselves and each other. Disenfranchised grief is real and waves came throughout my life. I reconnected with my mother when I had children of my own and they brought joy to her. Thanks for sharing at your comfort level and continue to nurture and strengthen your boundaries. Hugs. Oh, I love the name of your podcast.

Early parent loss has such a massive impact on your development and interaction with peers. When I was young as soon as I told someone my mom was dead our relationship changed. This is both other kids, and adults. I could tell it made others uncomfortable. That made me feel "other" and alone, so I just stopped telling people. Most make it about them and that is kind of weird. I love watching y'all every week! I love your personalities and I learn so much! One of the best things I have learned from you both is to always check YT for "how to's". If you need to know how to fix something or even just troubleshoot so you can better explain to a tradesperson, look it up on YT! Cannot wait for next spring! Love y'all!!

I was a teacher for 43 years, and one thing I came to understand was the children of single parents worked twice as hard to contribute because they had to help so much within their families. More independent, more driven to accomplish, more skilled in life situations. Being without a father made you accomplished women and not coddled and weak. I love watching you succeed. BTW.. my two grandchildren lost their dad in a truck wreck when four years old and in ninth month of my daughters pregnancy. Both are great kids and so helpful to all of us. They are 17 and 13 now.
