With all the winks, strange moments of bursting out into song, snow, editing of past moments, and Susan Twist I'm looking forward to how this is going to all culminate. It's sad that people are judging the show at face value - I feel like a lot of thought has gone into these new episodes.

Theres Always A Triad at the End

My favourite theory is that she is the Monk, I mean it does make sense and it would also explain S Triad being an anagram of TARDIS! I love the way Susan Twist is being incorporated into each episode, it's fun wondering "How will she fit into the episode this week?"

At first I thought she was the Meddling Monk but when the Doctor mentioned his granddaughter at the beginning of the Devil's Chord and then ended with the song There's Always a Twist bookending the episode with the name Susan Twist. She is either the Meddling Monk or Susan. She may also be the One Who Waits and Ruby's mum.

Some possible theories based on what we’ve got so far: 1) Brand New character with some way out idea we haven’t thought of yet. 2) The Meddling Monk, hadn’t thought of that one, that works, especially as how they don’t see each other in the scenes so far (and also have different faces from when they last met) 3) Could be Ruby’s mother, but I’m not keen on this one for some reason. I like to think this is a double twist (excuse the pun) and RTD is giving us two mysteries side by side to follow. Didn’t the Doctor’s scan of Ruby reveal she was an ordinary human? So if Susan Twist is a god or alien that takes on different personas throughout time, then she can’t be her mother. I feel it’s more likely that old chestnut of Ruby is Ruby’s own mother paradox type thingy. 4) It’s a regenerated Susan - too on the nose having the same first name especially as she was just mentioned in TDC? 🤔🤔 I hope if this is the case that we at least get a flashback which allows for an appearance of Carole Ann Ford regenerating into this incarnation; just her being Susan without Carole reprising the role beforehand would be unsatisfying. 5) The name S. Triad is an anagram for Tardis so perhaps it’s the embodiment of the Tardis (possibly why there’s an abandoned one on a cliff in one of the trailers?). Equally this could also apply to the above theory, that it’s Susan using a pseudonym that is an anagram of Tardis as her disguise though time and space. I’m definitely intrigued as to why this character appears around the Doctor but never interacts with him and that it’s been done in a subtle way so far. From RTD I understand that the Doctor and Ruby will start to notice her in upcoming episodes so looking forward to this one…. PS As always loving these videos which sum up what we know, picking out all the clues and Easter eggs while theorising what they might mean. 👍👍

"That's Me, Margaret Lockwood in The Wicked Lady" If only we knew a timetravelling highwaywoman called Me ;) On top of this Ashildr is/was trillions of years old (The Oldest One - admittedly described as 'he') and waiting for the Doctor at the end of the Universe (The One Who Waits) Of course this could all just be coincidental, or trolling from RTD :)

While Susan Twist didn't appear in The Giggle, Triad Technology is mentioned. So if she is playing Susan Triad that is at the very least an indirect mention. As for the alternate timeline in The Devil's Chord, fairly sure that's explicitly Maestro's work - that's why there's the whole sequence where they travel forward to 2024 only to find it destroyed. As for the movie the Tealady is talking about; fairly sure that's in response to the Doctor's quip about the price of her tea - he calls it highway robbery and she in response compares herself to a highway robber.

Just a guess: is the Twist that Susan is Susan Foreman the Doctors Granddaughter. I didn't know the Susan character was a thing until this video so I didn't think anything of it at the time, but it was strange that the Doctor took time to explain to Ruby that he had a Granddaughter called Susan and he didn't know where she was any more.

Could the hand that picked up the gold tooth in ‘The Giggle’ also be Susan Twist? There’s always a twist at the end? If so, that would leave only ‘The Star Beast’ without her…

Think Susan Twist could be playing someone like the Meddling Monk, the Valeyard, Rassilon or maybe one of the three Gods of Ragnarok as the word Tri is in her name and so could mean she’s three of something. This could also be a clue to Rassilon as he could be one of three founders of Time Lord society.

I feel like the funniest thing is that you were one of the first people to talk about Susan Twist even before Wild Blue Yonder aired. I remember you and Miles kind joking about it. Who knew she'd be a reoccurring plot thread like this!

This is embarrassing, but I got Susan Twist and Anita Dobson (especially Mrs. Flood) mixed up.

hmm she is either one of the toy maker's legion, or maybe a new incarnation of the master

I think the singing and dancing with 'theres always a twist at the end' originally annoyed me because it felt so unreal, but perhaps its just an extreme foreshadowing, perhaps there still in the sureal world of the toy maker or the 'one who waits' as the doctor after singing steps on the road which makes noises, extremely sureal and not natural but they brush over it as part of the song. But perhaps its all leading to some kind of ploy of them being controlled, as the doctor says somethings wrong he keep running away from creatures, and steping on things without looking which isnt like him at all, so hopefully this will play out to something great
