I've wanted a Mufasa Scar prequel forever, but being based off the remake, I don't know.

I agree with most of these comments saying a prequel with mufasa and scar is hype but wish it was animation. Just more aesthetic distinctive iconic designs that are a lot more emotive but that’s just my opinion

Isn’t it technically a prequel? Sure it’s one for the remake version (though I find it weird that it isn’t a prequel to the lion king as a whole, but whatever), but a prequel doesn’t mean it’s “another remake”. With that logic, Red Dead Redemption 2 is actually a remake of Red Dead Redemption 1

They're coming out with a lot of new prequel not just live action lion king lore!!! Definitely do videos on the other content too!!! I'm super excited

I'm wishing that they make this movie well, I wished they made it in 2D or I want to at least see how this story develops to establish everything up to where the first movie begins: Mufasa being crowned king and how little by little Scar became like this, and how their relationship began to fall.. The only thing that made me like the idea more was hearing what it would be like with Rafiki telling the story to Kiara. 5:41-5:47 But I also hope that Simba appears, it can't be that he doesn't also want to know his dad's story; but above all I hope for some life lesson (also Rafiki telling her the story of her grandfather so that Kiara might understand why her dad is like that with her, as much as possible I guess) or songs alsol

A lion guard move would go crazy most people don't even know bout it since it was mostly marked to little kids but it was actually really good all they would have to do is make it a little more mature and it would be a a great way to introduce them to the public

I like the idea of a prequal. Who doesn't want this story? But. Why. Don't. They. Just. Animate it. Instead of doing this photo-realistic thing. THAT is why I'm not going to see it. DISNEY. ANIMATION. THAT ISN'T. AWFUL. PLEASE!!!! Friggin PLEASE!!!!!!

To be fair, Scar trying to kill Mufasa is very on brand with real life Lions. Sometimes Male Lions fight and kill their fathers to become the head of their group of Lions. Sometimes when a male Lion kills another male Lion, the winner kills all of the cubs who are not his own. Basically, Mufasa is a human in the body of a Lion and Scar is a Lion in the body of a Lion lol.

I did love The Lion King remake in 2019 and I might feel the same way about the prequel.

Well, apparently the movie is slated to be realised in December of this year. But there is also another movie that plants to come out in December of this year, and that's sonic movie 3. So it comes down to this. Can this movie stand against sonic movie 3. Personally, I think no. Sonic is one of the most iconic video game characters, and franchise. Not to mention the good will that's been made with the previous two movies. Meanwhile, not only do the live action Disney remakes have a bad stigma around them. But Disney's reputation, has gone down the drain. People see them as the s**ty company that it is, and most people have already boycotted anything to do with them. Not to mention, sonic movie 3, is going to have shadow in it. And if you don't know, shadow is the second most popular character, in the sonic franchise. When sage want something sonic related to sell, they slap shadow in there. Regardless of what it is, and it sells. If theses movies do clash, I think sonic movie 3, will win.

Problem is that the release date is on the day the Sonic Movie 3 releases, the most hyped movie of the year. And the fact that not only Disney has so much negative PR nowadays, but its a live action remake too, there's so much going against the movie.

I can't wait for them to give Scar a tragic backstory where Zazu kills his grandma or something.

Well, one upside is that it’s going to be directed by Barry Jenkins, who’s made a lot of great films in the past, and as long as he can figure out a way to make the lions actually EMOTE this time, I might be interested in seeing it. However, the downside is that it’s the same screenwriter from the last one, who does not have a good track record whatsoever (i.e. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Pirates 5, and the Rush Hour sequels). So, I’m not holding my breath for this one.

Considering how they managed to fumble the remake, I'm not positive about a prequel that is 100% original.

Although I wish they used classic animation for it, it was still cool that it looked so realistic. It will be really cool to see their real canon backstory after all these years. However, I wonder how they will make Scar get his scar. In the live action remake of the first movie, they hinted that Scar probably got it from Mufassa. But in The Lion Guard, Scar got it from a snake.

I’ve always wanted to see the backstory of Mufasa and Scar for a long time, and even if it’s a live action film, I’m still wanting to give it a go.

I actually am looking forward to seeing Mufasa and Scar on the same side. Apparently, this version is that they were not born royalty but became royals by merit. The rise of the brothers and the tale of their eventual divide could make for a solid tale. It COULD; but other than the Jungle Book (2016) none of these remakes really do much and aren't very solid. The only thing I liked about the Lion King remake was that the villains felt more competent and dangerous, way smarter and more brutal. Still, all in all, it was executed very flatly and didn't really work. Maybe the second attempt will work better.

I know many hate the remakes, especially after hearing Moan is just going to be the same movie, but in different packaging, meaning live action. But their origin/reimahing stories have been well done. I always look forward to them to see what they explore.

In the tv series the lion guard they also explored scars origins basiclly scar meets a strange lion and the lion tells him they can both take over the pride lands scar seems interested but the lion black mails and a snake friend of the lion bites scar on his eye but scar uses the roar of the elders on the lion and he comes back to tell mufasa want he did but mufasa gives him the nickname which makes scar pissed

I am the biggest Lion King fan! I loved the original and really enjoyed the live action. I went into the live action film KNOWING that it wasn't going to be as epic of the first. I knew that. I also grew up watching National Geographic with my father and younger brother, so the look and feel of the movie really appealed to me. I thought it was a great way to reimagine a classic. I heard about this new movie sometime either last year, or three year before...and I was EXCITED! As it turns out...I am STILL excited! I'm glad they're keeping the real world look of the film. I'm a massive fan of 2D animation, so if it's not the classic format, then I'm happy they're maintaining this look. I'm looking forward to this. I know Sarabi was involved in the past and Scar had wanted her, but she chose Mufasa. I want you learn more about that. I do not...repeat, NOT...want Timon and Pumbaa to serve as narrators. I agree that it worked well in the third movie, but you can't rewind that setup for a third time. Let that sleeping dog lie. Other than that, I guess we'll see. ❤

my mind the lion king remake is one of the best 4 disney has made and the fact that we got to see a few things we didnt see in the animated movie was awesome and i am really looking forword to see mufasa story i do hope they do make a sequel to the 2019 movies where we follow simba son and no i am not talking about kion or kiara but simba unoffical first kid kopa the one we see by the end of the first animated movie

Hopefully this prequel will be at least as entertaining and impressive as, if not more so than Maleficent's sequel, Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.

I heard (cant remember where) that they are making mafasa and scar emotionally brothers instead the of biological. (Probably to avoid the any accidental insest between sarabi and mafia/ simba and nala)

I think that the Sonic 3 movie will Chaos control this Mufasa prequel into being an embarrasing flop. That videogame adaption movie from Sega and Paramount will likely win in ticket sales and quality because Paramount can do better with making hyper-realistic characters have emotions, and that upcoming movie will be emotional because elements from Sonic Adventure 2 are being adapted into it + it's also been officially confirmed that that game's hit theme song will be included into it, and it got recently revealed by a relyable source that John Wick/Keanu Reeves has been cast in to be Shadow's movie VA after soo many fans have been begging for Paramount to choose him for that role! Also none of the Sonic movies have been woke ones while modern Disney loves adding annoying woke stuff into their new releases.
