This video is loaded with Nestorations footage! M15 and F23 (formerly known as Maybelline) seal the deal. I spent the last five days putting this video together. I had a lot of fun creating this video; it documents the culmination of an important milestone in the bonding process. Both eagles are diligently working and in synch to upgrade the nest. We are witness to a more physical and physiological part of the bonding process. These observations renew my hopes for a successful season and a new beginning. We know Dad deserves it! I hope that you enjoy this video as much as I enjoyed compiling the footage! I watched it over and over again during the editing process. The video begins with F23 collecting grass from the pasture (ground) for the first time. In the previous days, she had brought grass or moss that was collected while in flight and without making contact with the ground. This clip is significant since we can infer that she is feeling more comfortable with her surroundings. Watch the midpoint of the video carefully. M15 captured a small bird across the road, near where a car wash is being constructed. In the past, I referred to this female as “Maybelline” for identification purposes. She was officially named F23 three days ago with the possibility of renaming her in the future if a bond for life is formed or eggs are laid, as per the Southwest Florida Eagle Cam Facebook Page.
