In this video titled EU4 A to Z - THIS NATION Got SECRETLY UPDATED In 1.34 I do a playthrough as Augsburg Europa Universalis 4 1.33 France. This is the series titled A to Z where I attempt to play every* nation in EU4 in alphabetical order. Of course I had to remove some nations so the challenge doesn't get too boring. In this video I play as the nation of Augsburg and I attempt to conquer the capitals of the three lions of the north - Denmark, Sweden and Norway. So let's see if I managed to do it! 5:09 The reform that gives +20% average monarch live spam also gives an education event that increases their adm, dip or mil in one point. I think the reform is targeted to monastic orders since they can make their ruler a general, they can get rid of the bad rulers and keep their good ones 20% more time.

@@pufl_ in one of my games Ulm got pretender rebels that stayed there for a full hour at speed five and still managed to get an army and beat them up Ulm was still a free city at the moment, so they only had their capital, which somehow allowed them to get 4k troops (probably the free company) and beat, with them, their 11k stack of rebels Ulm truly is powerful

Hamburg in modern day has the soccer club 'Hamburger Sportverein', short 'HSV'. Most famous player was Uwe Seeler - who got betrayed for the world championship title when he lost the final against England due to the infamous 'Wembley Goal'! To prevent this in your timeline make sure England is your Vassal! As secondary goal colonize all of Argentina for this juicy meat for 'Hamburgers'!

1:25 There are actually 9 Capitals of the Lions of the North. (Sweden, Denmark, Norway) + (Gotland, Poland, Lithuania, Teutonic Order, Riga, Livonian Order.) :D You could also add Finland but that's a releasable. :)

@@yaldabaoth2 once i went in a goslar play because lol, and my god how fun was being in near constant wars vassalizing as a loophole to AE and emperor insistance, even i was able to colonize after reaching sea, and i had more dev than constanstinople

HRE is easy peezy, you just remember that you need 3 people to be mad to form a coalition and have very liquid alliances. Once you get big enough coalitions are just defensive wars.

Step 1: get two strong allies step 2: coalition forms step 3: they dont declare cuz strong allies step 4: continue after if dissolvds

Why? Rule of thumb after every war of Conquest make a Humilation war. Not only are 300 MP great but you have something to do while Burn down AE. Also Diplo Humanist is a goodly Combi in the HRE the IR IS no Joke and Help you Burn AE faster. And as a Secret Idea Pick Espionage. It is a Strong Idea Set now and the -20% AE Impact works super Well with the IR Modifiers you get.

I kinda love how some nations tend to become bigger than they would before this patch - especially Friesland as a Frisian myself, lol. Lübeck has also become strangely big a few times in my campaigns so far.

Request and buy electorate allows you to transfer an elector position from your subject to you, so if you want you can hoard up 6k gold, ally the emperor, force vassalize a small elector, and become an elector really easily, honestly the best part is it allows you to upgrade to a kingdom rank from a duchy rank, as only electors can do that

8:35 I also noticed generals dying like flies in my current Sweden run, but somehow only if they're near to or at max pips. 3 of my 13-pip generals died back to back within 2 years of being recruited while some 4-pip leftover guy lasted 50 years and my 5-pip consort also going well into his 60s. Worst part of that era was my 1/0/3 queen clinging onto live until 83. I was so close to abdicating her at 50 when I thought "Nah, I'll save the prestige. She'll probably kick the bucket within 5 years, like her 3 5/4/5 sons that she probably had murdered".

9:25 They added that in this last update. It's for YOU to get an electorate from a subject. Basically, you can buy or purchase being an elector from a subject.

Yeah, the lectorate decisions are a new thing, in fact they weren't even planned, it was just supposed to be for the Teutonic Order, but the community requested it for all HRE members, so they did it ^^

Something’s that’s not listed in the patch notes (but was in a dev diary) i la that the Education of the Theocrat government reform is that when choosing your heir you will get a extra decision that lets you give your heir plus one monarch point.

The main reason to take the monarch lifespan reform is that it increases the stats of your future rulers through other mechanics.

You should try out Persia, their ideas got changed a bit. Now they’ve got +1 flat cav shock (yes, just like the winged hussars) as their starting traditions. Could be quite fun.

Espionage would've been a great first choice. Less AE, faster claims, cheaper advisors, faster sieges. It's honestly an A tier idea group now

Here's how subordinate nation inheritance works. You inherit vassals and colonial nations from overlords because in the setting those nations are reliant on their overlord to not be conquered. So they sumbit themselves to you automatically showing yourself to be more powerful. PUs occur because of a quirk in succession law that a ruler of another nation has a fairly high chance of having a legitimate inherited claim to another nations throne, making him the king of both nations. Both nations being technically separate means when you full annex a PU leader, the subordinate countries simply choose the next closest legitimate nobleman. So you don't inherit after full annexing their overlord.

Given the relationship between Hamburg and hamburgers, I'm going to say try to form a new world nation with a lot of beef, maybe around Texas or Argentina. For a bit more challenge you could do an exodus campaign and relocate to those regions yourself.

As hamburg you should map paint a burger somewhere in the world, so you need two orange buns, a brown meat patty, some yellow cheese, and some green lettuce. Feed your allies or vassals the land. Has to be 4 provinces or more per ingredient.
