Andrew would be Candor because they are the honest and make good judges and Amity as well because he seems like a peaceful chill guy but it also takes courage to tell the truth and he's aware of details so maybe Erudite as well, plus he's the facts trivia guy 😂. Tara would be Erudite because she figured out how to plug the hole in that drowing room by taking the clothes off really fast 😂, she's high energy as well, so that's Dauntless. Tara also picks up weapons of enemies that are lying on the floor 😂 and that shows resourcefulness and smarts, so that's Erudite and Dauntless again. She also casts her own friends in stuff so that's abnegation😂.. So, all in all, you guys would be Divergent.

Oh and for Andrew, Theo James (who plays Four) is the lead in the new ‘The Gentleman’ series (the Guy Ritchie one that’s a spin off from the film) so you’ll get to see him in that too when you guys get to that, which I’m assuming and hoping you will. It’s brilliant!

The last book of the trilogy is the shortest one and they wanted to milk that cow by doing 2 parts (2 movies or 1 movie and a tv series) like HP and Hunger Games, but that totally backfired. The first movie was a good adaption of the book, but the second one already veered off and the third movie was total crap!!!

Not as great as the books, but I still enjoy the trilogy. And the casting in these movies is great. We've got Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Miles Tiller, Zoe Kravitz, Ansel Elsgort, Ray Stevenson(RIP always), Mekhi Phifer, Jai Courtney, and Kate Winslet all in this first movie. 35:00 ish... it's not green screen. they actually filmed most of everything in chicago. i've seen all the special features. that's why the two other movies were such a disservice to what they achieved in the first film.

And just to say Kate Winslet didn’t originally know that Tris was Divergent because when Tris did the aptitude test Tori entered her results into the system as Abnegation to protect her. (when she told Tris to say the serum made her feel sick) So when Kate Winslet says she saw her results just thought that Tris chose Dauntless even though her results said abnegation.

Did it? I felt like the trend was just slowing down when the films were being released. Even for a franchise like the hunger games and how popular catching fire was, I'd dropped away from the ya dystopian stuff so mockingjay went completely under the radar to me and while I'd read the divergent books, the films were never really on my radar.

This movie started it for me. I watched it first then I read the books then I discovered the Hunger Games trilogy then I watched the movies and waited for the next ones and the rest is history. This might not be the best adaptation but Divergent still has the best couple among all the YA books to movies adaptations.

Two fun facts about two scenes in this movie the part where Tress and I believe his name is, Peter are fighting the part where she punches him in the throat. That was actually her punching him, the throat and the noise that he made he actually end up losing his breath because she actually really did hit him in the throat. And for Kate Winslow, if you noticed that she’s covering her stomach all the time she was pregnant while filming this movie and another scene too, when Trish is going down, the zip line, the part where the first female that pushes the door open that is the author of the divergent books

Glad to see you Tara!! It was a fun time getting caught up in the whirlwind of the hype when these books were released, and The Hunger Games. Both are fantastic stories of dystopian worlds, and were made into awesome films. I hope you watch the next two, they’re both worth a watch! I loves the facts about this film, I will always remember that detail about the throat punch now. 😬 It was interesting to watch the chemistry of Shailene and Miles in these roles after watching them in The Spectacular Now, which is also worth a watch.

This series was so underrated IMO because of the saturation brought on by Twilight, Hunger Games etc. But this was so freaking good.

I’m glad you guy watched and actually appreciated the story! Some other reactors just seem to make fun of it the entire time. I remember when these books were coming out. Definitely a big part of my childhood!

I won’t lie, these movies are my guilty pleasure, they weren’t ever going to win awards but I love the characters. My favorite trope in movies is the mastery of the mind and using your mind to overcome obstacles physically and metaphorically. I love that being ‘Divergent’ is literally having attributes that are beyond categorization.
