On this episode I change the Thermostat on the Lexus LS400 because it started overheating.
******Update after this video I find the spot where to put the radiator fluid in its under the plastic engine cover and its an Allen Hex looking Plug on the top front part of the Engine.
I wish I would of know before I started but either way it got done.

Glad I can help I'm not a mechanic so I don't know all the technical terms to call stuff but I'm good at figuring things out usually. But I did make a small mistake the hex bolt radiator plug is under the plastic engine cover I didnt find out till after that I had to remove the cover to find it

The filler hole that the instructions talk about. is by the thermostat. It is like a 20mm bolt if i remember correctly, and its in the same housing as the thermostat. You unscrew it and fill it through that hole. Basically the same thing you did by filling the top radiator hose. Nice improvise though.

I have a 97 Lexus LS 400, it’s hard to find a lot on this car. About 270,000 on it, timing belt said it was done at 210,000. Checked the spark plugs and they were rusted and old. Now I need to do the distributor, roster, and wires but can’t find how to do the simple tuneup without tearing off the whole front of the engine. You don’t happen to know of one?

I know this was posted years ago, but you mentioning you had a blockage in your tank helped my issue a lot. Thinking i had to replace my w/pump it was good to know my issue was smaller. I do need to replace my radiator from a small leak but (waiting). That blockage kept fluid from flowing from the tank regardless. THANKS!

Hi brother thanks for your videos I'm a subscriber. Question please... I have a 1995 Lexus LS 400. The radiator fan is not activating. It does work because i tested it. I disconnected the connector that's connected to the receiver drier and the radiator fan turns on and stays on continuously the whole time. But when I reconnect the connector the radiator fan turns off. I'm trying to fix the fan so that it turns on when I turn on my air conditioner but the fan does not turn on when I turn on the AC. I feel like it has something to do with that connection but I'm not sure. Do you think I might have a bad sensor that's connected to the receiver drier? Thanks. Anybody knowledgeable please reply soon.

@parloitaliano2

@@JSmooth570 they told me the car needs to install another fan as you know my Lexus is an American specification which has one fan infront. Another one said it could be the engine fan clutch, but for me it's running normal. Do you mean reservoir is (radiator) ..I am not sure if I flushed or not ..it seems the radiator coolant in good condition. If water pump is not ok !! I can't drive the car!! It seems water pump is ok. It's a big headache for me for past a week now. The overheating is when the car stand still.

@@parloitaliano2 I mean the excess reservoir might be clogged like his I did in the video. If the fan is not turning on the you need a new fan but you don't need an extra one just replacing. Start the car look in the reservoir is the water moving inside? If not you need a new water pump

@@parloitaliano2 the water pump either stops working or it sometimer work and sometimes dosent not necessarily weak but just turn the car on and see if the water in the reservoir is moving if it is then its not the water pump other cause is the radiator might be clogged if someone was not adding radiator fluid and adding just water
